I do hope that there is someone out there from NI (Co Down specifically) that could meet up. Our Mums and Tots are great, but I would like to organise something a bit different!!!

Must admit I miss the accent & the speed they talk at over there. Some people over here still canny understand me sometimes I'm from the islands btw. Most of all I miss Glasgow for the shopping & nights out.

ItsMeMellowma · 06/02/2007 16:37

If I am with my friend and we all start talking noone can understand us...at work I used to have my posh voice and then be on the phone to my friend speaking all my scottish slang...its great!!

How long have you been in Ireland?

starfairy 2 boys, one 6years and one 2years!!

BassMama · 06/02/2007 17:02

yeah we live over here, in Edinburgh.

I love NI though, we were looking at houses over there for a few months before we seperated. I still think I would like to live over there.

Its like Scotland but with nicer accents!

Actually, my DS has a wee mixed accent - half Scottish, Half N Irish! very cute. Unfortunately that will all go when he gets to school age and hell be all Scots.

starfairy · 06/02/2007 17:05

I seperated over a year ago, but decided to stay here. My Dd has real strong NI accent.

starfairy · 06/02/2007 17:14

Gonna go now & pick up my Dd, she was having her b/day party in nursery, she'll prob be totally hyper wee pet. Talk to all u ladies later

ItsMeMellowma · 06/02/2007 17:18

Speak later...I am from Edinburgh too Bassmama, although you may know that already if you have been on the Scottish thread.

BassMama · 06/02/2007 17:21

I had noticed - seems we can meet in any thread eh!

ItsMeMellowma · 06/02/2007 17:29

I always end up on lots of threads... anyway cannot let the moment pass without saying how flaming cold it is in Edinburgh today eh? Freezing...

Speak later, off to put something on for DSs before they try eating each other

fireflyfairy2 · 06/02/2007 20:03

Congrats to your dd cremolafoam!!

Would you believe I have never been at Kellys in my 29 years! when we go out round the Port we head to the Anchorage [great bands on a Sat night] or Shenanigans. Both lovely for a nice feed too
