I do hope that there is someone out there from NI (Co Down specifically) that could meet up. Our Mums and Tots are great, but I would like to organise something a bit different!!!

Helooo to everyone, you can never get too far without bumping into someone from home!!!
Sounds a good idea multitasker. I'm just feeling a bit out in the cold because dh has started a new business and we are like passing ships in the night!!! I have to make him give ds his breky in the morn just so he can see him!! ( Not so that i can have a lie in or anything!!)
Any single mums out there I always said i didn't know how you did it, now i am starting to have an inkling into what it must be like!!

Lblouise, Crystaltips, Multitasker( our number is gathering!) found another site through here - netmums.com It could do with a bit of local input. I found another mum from Bangor who wants to meet up.

We mentioned a while ago about meeting up in November, somewhere accessible for as many NI mums as possible. Does anyone have any ideas?

Hello Pandi, I wonder is it best to bump this thread at night - we might have a few lurkers then who would be up for a meet-up? I can meet on a Thurs / Fri morning, maybe week after next? I have 2dc to pick up from school in the afternoon. Yeah whats the deal with this bloody weather, it's so gloomy and with the clocks going back this w/end it will be like living in the twilight zone. Trying to stimulate 2yr old today and keep her away from her brother who is off school with a tummy bug, so I won't be going far today - loads of bed linen to washI'll definitely bump this tonight too.

Hi there
Can't believe there are Mums from Bangor on here! I also live in Bangor but have older kids (10 and 3)and have just gone back to work full time, so wouldn't be good for meetups. When my dcs were small I found it wasn't that easy to find out what was going on around, so thought I would put down a few places I used to go.

There are two brilliant Mums and Tots that I attended with my 3 yr old dd - CFC in N'ards behind Cordiners Kitchens. Is run on Mon, Wed and Thur. They have a room which is like a proper nursery - loads of toys, sand, paint, playdough, dressing up etc etc. They do a themed craft every day. Snack time they serve loads of food for parents/carers and kids (although too much for kids maybe!). They have an outdoor area. They have big equipment inside too and cars, etc. Then they have a song time which is done by two brilliant girls (women), with guitar and mike. It does cost £2.50 per family, but really really brilliant. Sad that part of my life is over now! Oh yes and people very very friendly.

Another group is the Baptist (Bethany?) on Gransha Road - more traditional type M&T but really really welcoming to new visitors and friendly. They are on Thur morning.

Also the library on Friday morning have Rhyme Time for Toddlers (babies are there too), which is lovely and free - only half hour but do songs and nursery rhymes and staff are lovely.

Don't know if this is of any help to anyone, but just some ideas if anyone is stuck for something to do. Ok, I'll shut up now!

Hello to you all. I'm 'home' at the moment visiting the folks and am seriously under-impressed with this mingin' weather. Cansomeone suggest something fun for the kids and us to do before we go bonkers (I've lived in England now for nearly as long as I lived in NI, so not familiar with what's about these days). Thinking of W5 perhaps. We're staying in Co. Down. Lisburn also in easy reach.

Rebi · 27/10/2006 12:21

Hi Aero!
Welcome home. Weather is disgusting last couple of days, isn't it.
Lisburn Leisure Centre pools are great (slides, lazy river, etc). I'm sure you have probably been before. Last time we went, we went to a restaurant beside it called Cafe Joes (or similar). Its an American diner type place - they give the kids dvd players with choice of films, which my kids loved. Nice half day outing and kids nice and tired!

W5/Odyssey is brilliant too (but pricey). Now you can go into W5, come out for lunch and go back in again, which is good. Also bowling and cinema there, so could make day of it.

Also for stuff on over the next week or so, look up www.ni4kids.com - there are loads of bits on this weekend because of halloween.

How long are you home for? Hope you have a ball x

Rebi · 27/10/2006 12:23
