Let's start a new thread the old one is getting too long

I'm off travelling 22-29th but before then I hope I'd be able to 'find' some time but probably not in the week leading up to 22nd as dh would probably divorce me

I spoke to her this evening Lemonaid - she was a bit confsed about why someone I hadn;t met was lending me baby clothes but I rambled on about friends of friends and blah blah blah... wore her down in the end and she seemed to lose interest!

FF - haven't forgotten about the cleaner but at the rate I'm going I shall still be here in a month. No letter of invitation (necessary for visa) agency os going to check again tomorrow and if its not there by tomorrow we may have to reschedule flights but don't know to when. AAAAAARGH.

Paddlechick666 · 18/09/2006 22:38

hi MBD, yep she is the original dark destroyer!

she "helped" with the laundry earlier and ended up wearing dh's pants on her head - she is soo funny!

tonight's CM had her giggling all over the place but i wasn't comfortable with her house so back to the childcare drawing board for me.

Please tell me it gets easier???? I'm shattered keeping my 2 yr old busy. Took a wee train trip to London this aft and went to Hamleys. It was supposed to be JUST window shopping then some how I was presented with an £85 bill! I'd definately recommend it, DS had a great time. Once upon a time I was one of those headless chicks speeding around Waterloo like my life depended on getting the fast train! Oh memories, memories....lol

PC666 - your DS'll be keeping you on your toes now Did she have that really cute look of excitement they get when they've just learnt something new?

Uwila - I don't know anything about a meet tomorrow but let me know if any1 fancies doing something.

I'm trying to think what's good for local day time meets. So far I've got Redlees, Snakes & Ladders, Hounslow Urban Farm, swimming, Lollipop club and Bushy Park. It'd be good to have a separate thread for this kind of stuff but I've still got an L plate as an MNetter.

fatfox · 19/09/2006 05:49

Spot the one who suffers from insomnia

Mosquito bites woke me at 4.15am; but enjoyed a glorious 20 mintes of feverish scratching (no one awake to tell me off) before arising and putting washing on

Has anyone been to Bunny Farm in Hanwell? That's a nice free day out for LOs.

PC666 - can't beleive the breastfeeding clinic says DD is too old at 12 months . How ridiculous!! NCT have a breastfeeding helpline and counsellors (but you probably know that already)

Sue - I'll be keeping everything crossed for you this week.

fatfox · 19/09/2006 05:50

2cute - we took LOs to Hamleys last spring and they still talk wistfully about "the biggest toyshop in the world"

Paddlechick666 · 19/09/2006 07:47

where on earth did you get mozzie bites from at this time of year Foxie?

I rang LLL but they don't have a west london representative so drawn a blank really. maybe hvs will help later.

2cute, dd looked very impressed with herself LOL

PC666

Paddlechick666 · 19/09/2006 07:50

trawling thru the London Theatre website for ideas for sullen teens' birthday treats and found

this
and this

which look great, i'd be happy to organise booking some tickets for the under 2s show.

MrsBigD, do you have BigKat's sister's email addy?

Oh yes, I made my first loaf of bread overnight which dd is now enjoying altho it was a bit heavy and didn't rise too well.

I am approaching domestic goddess I tell ya!

PC666

MrsBigD · 19/09/2006 07:58

2cute starting new thread is easy go to 'by topic' select the area you want to start the thread in, start new thread adn there you are

PC666 I have various email addresses but as I'm useless with names and except for oxo nobody wrote their mn name against it ... I'm a bit at a loss, saying that one email has (the one who has invited you all to Margate) scrawled under it so I'm assuming that's BigKat's sister . Can you confirm the first letter ofyour email and what .com you're with that way I can deduce... I'm so crap with names

better get off the pc now and get ds dressed for nursery.

Photos tonight, I promise

hi MBD, yes good point! I'm a bigfoot - hope that helps!

bigkat's sister's name starts with a j - does that work?

tia

fatfox · 19/09/2006 08:39

PC666 - my friend is an NCT breastfeeding counsellor - let me know if you'd like to see her and I'll match you two up. She lives in Kew.

I got Mozzie bites in the exotic and tropical climes of Lewisham on Saturday evening!! Must be a bit nearer the equator than Richmond or something?

fatfox · 19/09/2006 08:44

Ooooh am in a state of exitement this morning, as long time friend of 17 years (DS's godmother) works for the Foreign Office and is posted in Belize currently - she needs to choose a new posting for next year and is considering bidding for Lebanon!

Starting to get very jealous of her, starting to visualise large plates of Lebanese food, hot sun and exotic Lebanese music - starting to have sneaky little thoughts of a trip there next year for me and baby

sfxmum · 19/09/2006 08:51

good morning oh you insomniacs

dd kept me up most of the night she had a fever no doubt fall back from mmr

PC666 -btw dd is 15.5 and am still bf should you want to talk. the farm in hanwell is pretty good but too far for me at present.

Uwila · 19/09/2006 08:58

Are you crazy? Lebanon? WAR TORN Lebanon???? With a baby?!?!?!?!?!

Right, we must plan a day time meet up for the first week in October. Tues, Wed, Thurs. are best for me. Friday is out because I'll be on aplan e to Chicago to meet my new nephew (born day before yesterday) and also meet my one year old neice. I haven't been to the USA in three years and I soooooooo can not wait to set foot on American soil. I love liveing abroad, but nothing beats the feeling of coming "home". YIPPEEEE!

Okay, back on the topic at hand, meet-up 3rd 4th or 5th October in the AM. Who wants to come? Where shall we go?

pudding77 · 19/09/2006 09:20

It's getting hard to keep up with this thread!! Right here goes:

So meeting up wise - there's the 29 Sept for child's play & now the first week in Oct - is that right? I can do Tues, Weds & Fri.

SJ - forgive me if I'm being rude, but am I right in assuming you're adopting a child? Do you mind me asking where from? I know we don't know each other so I apologise if you do mind! Having said that, I could put together a small bag of bits and pieces if you need stuff - just let me know.

PC666 - that show sounds great, I'd love to go along, it's next Jan isn't it? & it sounds like your lo is going to be keeping you a lot fitter now!

lemonaid · 19/09/2006 09:33

dd is 15.5 and am still bf

We are talking months, right? Otherwise that's pushing it even for my commitment to extended bf .

DS is 20 months in a couple of days and I'm still bf too, although morning and evening only most days as I'm working full-time.

The balloon thing sounds really good. Am just wondering whether the big or baby would be better for us as DS will be virtually 2 by then and tends to ally himself with bigger kids. Hmmm.

BigKat · 19/09/2006 09:37

Hi - just been catching up with this thread since the Friday session. It was fun, but boy my head was not good on Saturday... that late session seemed like such a good idea at the time. I had to go and watch a christening video and appear chatty at 10.00 am saturday. Still have MIL here, and have been busy with birthday bash on Saturday, DS christening Sunday, and his first settling in session at nursery yesterday- he seemed so much naughtier than the other little angels....

FF- Yse I went to KCFE for A levels- if you did too we would have been there at the same time. Sis didn't go there though.
PC666- sorry for delay- have e mailed you and spoken to sis this morning - she said drop her a line.
Great too meet you all

fatfox · 19/09/2006 09:46

BigKat - I deffo know you from somewhere. We'll just have to work out where....hmmmmmm

Paddlechick666 · 19/09/2006 09:47

flippin hec a quick trip to Teddington to drop dh at work and you lot go gabble crazy LOL!

sfx - you do mean months don't you? i'm with lemonaid on the comittment to xbf but if that's years then it's just SCARY LOL!!!!

Foxie, thanks for the offer, i may take you up on it. will buzz you. As for Lewisham and Lebanon hmmmm. God I'd love to do something like that for work. My sis is off to Cambodia next week and I'm SO jealous. Persuading DH a trip to NYC before Xmas rather than paying off some of our moving expenses is proving tricky....

in the meantime, basically the bf problem is on my left side it's becoming increasingly painful. i think it's DD's latch now that she has a dog tooth and 1 top tooth on that side. i'd just like to get my latch checked tbh and before she develops dog and front tooth on the other side to compound the problem!

All who're keen on the baby balloon event CAT me and I'll organise. Maybe someone with LOs 2yrs+ would like to sort out that one?

Kit, ta for email, will reply now.

PC666

sfxmum · 19/09/2006 09:49

i clearly have to spend some time reading the tread, pretty hard to keep up at the moment, apologies

bigkat - when she is 15 i will be well into middle age now there is a thought teenage and menopausal hormones a clashing

Paddlechick666 · 19/09/2006 09:49

i meant someone with older LOs to organise the Big Balloon event.........

brain dead this morning!

Uwila · 19/09/2006 10:01

Hey, Bigkat, I think your sister need to sign up for mumsnet. Why is she not on here?

Yes, that pub was a stupid idea.... now whose was it? Actually, I had much fun and don't regret the pub. My head hurt on Saturday as well. But, DH woke me up after having gotten the kids up and feeding them brekkie (allbeit crap, but hey he fed them), and said to me "right, can you be ready in an hour?" and I replied with head throbbing "Ready for what?" and he said "Kingston." But, since he had tended to the kids, I felt obliged. So I was out the door for shopping at 9:30 (it took an hour and a half).

But, I'm all recovered and ready for the next one!

fatfox · 19/09/2006 13:21

Hi - PC666 you need to see someone me thinks and I'll text you Sarah's number later(remind me if I forget - am a bit manic today)

Uwila IKWYM about Lebanon, but the Foreign Office think its OK now and are expecting 36,000 UK visitors to Lebanon next year - would deffo avoid South Lebanon for a holiday, but would be an interesting fact finding visit. Just as long as Isreal lays off them from now on and doesn't bomb the crap out of them again....

I didn't drink much Friday, but had a glass of merlot Saturday and stayed out late. Went to my bookclub Sunday - ate the lunch kindly provided by the hostess, then promptly fell asleep on the sofa

Paddlechick666 · 19/09/2006 13:30

hi FF, thanks for that, i'll text you later if i don't hear anything.

well, i just spoke to the most friendly CM who's just around the corner and sounds great! hope i don't get over excited about this one and then be disappointed again.

hints and tips on how to tell the CM we saw last night that we're not going to use her? she was lovely but we had reservations about the house and she wasn't very forthcoming in terms of activities or showing us the play/sleep area etc.

i'd love to visit Lebanon too and Israel tbh. I'm detecting a theme with you on the food front Foxie. Turkish and Lebanese, I bet you like Tapas too dontchya?

PC666

MrsBigD · 19/09/2006 13:33

Had a look at the balloon thingy and that gave me THE idea what to do for dd's birthday in December Would be something different than all that whacky warehouse/snakes & ladders/Fantasy Island stuff . Question is it lists 2-4 year olds you reckon the few that are already 5, or turning 5 like dd would mind terribly? LOL

PC666 emailed you

gawd, I nip out for a day or so and the length of this thread scares me.
I'm on hols 27 sept - 7 oct so count me out on playtimes.

Do you guys know about Brentford watermans theatre: they do loads of plays etc and have lots on at half term if anyone wants to go. I can't do links so can anyone help? I'll have a bash after I have posted this in case I lose it.
