Let's start a new thread the old one is getting too long

I'm off travelling 22-29th but before then I hope I'd be able to 'find' some time but probably not in the week leading up to 22nd as dh would probably divorce me

OP posts:

Enjoy quokka!

quokka · 21/09/2006 19:38

I am

2Cute · 21/09/2006 21:55

Quokka - mine will pee in the loo,no probs but he has to poo in his nappy (or undies, on days that I dare to give it another try). You'll have to tell me your secret to success

PC666 - thanks for that link. I had a read and feel much better now. It's so strange to here DS stutter because he has inherited the gift of the gab from me so his speech has been great til now.

BigD - have a fab time and remember to count to 10 (and keep a bottle of vodka handy) if it gets too much!

2Cute · 21/09/2006 22:23

I was just having a look to see what kids shows are on over Christmas, seeing as they get booked up really quick, and came across this Cbeebies Show It looks quite good seeing as most LO's love all the characters. It's only in London on 23rd Dec so I'm guessing it'll get booked out pretty soon.

2Cute · 22/09/2006 14:14

Is nobody interested in my cbeebies show idea??

fatfox · 22/09/2006 14:23

Oxo - (PG woman put this on other thread by misttake earlier)

DS called the local police station up once. We had a very cross WPC phone us back to inform us. She claimed he dialled their number and when they answered, said to them "kiss my butt, eat my trousers"
On questioning, he admitted everything, but claimed that's what Bart Simpson said to the police.

TBH we didn't know whether to be shocked that Bart is corrupting our son, or proud of DS's healthy irreverance

quokka · 22/09/2006 14:34

2cute sounds good about show, just let me get past day 2 of potty training and Ill have a good look at it

Nanou1 · 22/09/2006 14:43

quoka / fatfox !!!! we are setting a trend! just rememebered dd did that about a year ago. it's only when i got close to the phone that i heard another voice answered back to her blah blah blah yes no no yes blah blah blah and saw she had dialled 999. the chap was really nice - saying it happens all the time. still - I was mortified!

fatfox · 22/09/2006 19:40

Nanou - perhaps that's why the police never turn up promptly when people call 999 - too busy trying to coax toddlers off the line

xoxoxo · 22/09/2006 20:53

2cute: show sounds great, but Wembley is too big for 2 and 3 yr old (i.e. can't be arsed - wait til it comes to Richmond!)
On the plus side, have cated you cleaners number. I am bit concerned about what you guys are saying to her ' oh yeah, just got yr number of freako I met on line...'.

Fatfox: hurrah you are back - let teh gossip begin......

2Cute · 22/09/2006 22:28

Oxo - Ok, fair enough but u'll have to perform an alternative Christmas show for the kids then? I wouldn't say freako....nutter more like it!

fatfox · 23/09/2006 09:48

Oxo - who shall we gossip about?

Has anyone been on that thread started by sleepinbeauty, which was kicking off this week (saw you on there Quokka) about "moaning sahms". Was highly amusing to be sure!!

2cute - I'm very lazy when it comes to going to shows etc. My approach is that if its in Richmond I'll go, if not then I won't. I find travelling to London with two lively LOs very stressful, specially when PG. I can't lift the buggy up stairs and no one ever offers to help.

Actually when I went up to Birmingham on Weds, we got on the train at Reading to find someone sitting in the seats we'd reserved. They guy in my seat (aged about 20) refused to let me sit there even though I'd reserved it and very politely told him I am PG and couldn't cope with standing for the two hours journey!! His response was " well, I got here first"!

TBH I felt like slapping him, but we consoled ourselves by sitting in 1st class and refusing to budge when the guard came round

quokka · 23/09/2006 10:12

ff was going to leave a really long message explaining why I was a sahm and how happy I was (excluding the occaisional off day of course) but just couldn't be bothered get to worked up over it, enough people had done that

Train man sounds horrible but you did get sit in first class so thats alright. I was in Barcelona when 23 weeks pregnant and saw a table in a tapas bar and was about to sit down and a man grabbed my chair. I was so shocked that I just stood there with my mouth open staring at him! Then all these people started talking spanish and dh came out and took all the chairs from his table so his friend couldn't sit down!

YanksUponThames · 23/09/2006 10:56

Hi! Might not be able to gossip a lot over the weekend generally, but --

If anyone fancies a visit to Kew Gardens today(esp. the Climbers & Creepers play space), it looks like ds + dh + I will be going over there in a while. Not sure exactly, but prob around 12 or 1pm. Probably will snack there too.
If anyone's handy and not otherwise occupied, gimme a ring at 079 1402 2751.

Sorry about insanely short notice/lack of organization! Dh's job has been extra busy these days (upcoming move of office space; dh has to completely sort their electrics & IT, and deal with a lot of prats/nuisances in the process), so hard to plan ahead around work interruptions etc.

2Cute · 23/09/2006 14:35

FF - I would've smacked the little git . I hated commuting when I was pg, especially when some people would turn the other way so they could act like they hadn't seen my huge belly.

Yanks - I was thinking of popping there with DS earlier as DH is playing hockey 2day but started doing house stuff instead.

pudding77 · 23/09/2006 15:05

Hi 2cute, who does your dh play for? My dh plays hockey as well, tho he's not going to play regularly this season, just if they need someone.

pudding77 · 23/09/2006 15:10

FF, I'm but not surprised - it's happened to me before! I remember going to sit down on the only seat left once & the bloke sat there saying he was saving it for his friend!!

fatfox · 23/09/2006 20:42

Puds/2cute - IKWYM!

Have learnt since Wednesday though that if you're pregnant, you can sit in 1st class if you can't find a seat in 2nd. I'm comtemplating starting a Class War by filling up an entire 1st class carriage with bulging PG women!

Now that would be funny

2Cute · 23/09/2006 20:57

FF - I've got pictures in my head of what that would look like!

Pudding - he's a bit of a hockey whore, he played for Canterbury, Teddington, Gymkhana and now he's started playing for Ramgarhia. (What a good wife I am, remembering all the clubs) who does your DH play for? (Better make sure we don't let them meet or we won't get a word in edgeways!

pudding77 · 24/09/2006 08:16

FF - I think that would be great!!

2cute - Dh plays for Southgate at the minute. We definitely can't let them meet, esp if your dh played for Teddington - they may have met in a cup final a few years ago which Sg won!! Is your ds showing any signs of interest in the game yet?

fatfox · 24/09/2006 21:26

Puds/2cute - glad you're both coming on 19th - am looking forward to meeting you

Paddlechick666 · 24/09/2006 22:28
