Let's start a new thread the old one is getting too long

I'm off travelling 22-29th but before then I hope I'd be able to 'find' some time but probably not in the week leading up to 22nd as dh would probably divorce me

Twickenham would be okay. I know a great India restaurant there... but not sure if everyone likes indian. Also it's abit pricey so if we have lots of drinking planned it could end up expensive. On the other hand there are plenty of other places to go in Twickers for cheaper drinks after nice dinner.

Somewhere walking distance from the green would be good because I could just drive from work, park on the green, take public transport home and go back to get my car sat morning.

Is Twickenham better for the Ealing crowd?

MrsBigD · 03/09/2006 14:11

Twickenham a bit easier... 65 to Richmond and then train to Twickenham

hello all
have recovered from activity day yesterday and am now ready to talk to grown ups! We walked home from kew fair yesterday along the towpath - took 90 minutes and a lot of baby carrying - am knackered still!

so - september meet up sounds good. presumably everyone's teeth will be ok or shall we opt for soft food?

Twickenham is fine by me (clearly!!) but can also do Richmond. To keep down costs we can meet at ours for a drink before hand; pls note small, untidy house. Then walk into Richmond or try local restaurants: thai x 2, greek, indian, or posh A Cena (££ though).

Central Twickers is curry land with a few exceptions - Ozon chinese/pizza express/ zizzi etc.

PC666: our cleaner is good and she would cover isleworth - can give you her telephone number if u want, cost is £8/hr.

is the dinner date the 15th?

xoxoxo

Paddlechick666 · 03/09/2006 17:47

Hi

Paddle, it was nice to meet you all yesterday - sorry to hear about the boys being sick. It sounds like a vile bug that seems to be going round at the moment .

Ulwila - we rushed back home, showered then dashed to the Anglers. Got home from my birthday do at 1am in the morning - with the kids Had a great time with you in Kew Gardens, but was absolutely cream crackered today. I'm 14 weeks today and starting to bloom I think, but there is a danger of pushing myself too far, as I had to sleep this arvo to recover from yesterday

Sue - Had a look at your SW report thread - so glad it went well. Don't think SWs are the brightest bunch (apologies to any SWs here )

MrsBigD - you poort thing - you seem to be really suffering a the mo' .

Is it 15 Sept we are meeting again?

I can do virtually anywhere as I'll be driving - Twickers, St Margerets/E Twick or Richmond. My fave place is L'Escale on Kew Road - mouth watering Turkish food and they do the best fish - reasonably priced.

Also I can give people a lift back to Richmond after for the 65 bus stop etc - But please, please can we go somewhere that is not smokey (i.e. not a pub, the Anglers was really smokey yesterday, although we were outside anyway because of the kids) - as I'm PG - I simply can't do cigarette smoke at the mo' as it makes me heave

fatfox · 04/09/2006 08:30

Where is everyone this morning?

Uwila · 04/09/2006 08:58

Mornin' everyone.

Fatfox, Kew on Saturday was good fun. I thought for sure both DD and DS would be fast asleep as soon as I buckled them in. But no: both were wide awake when we got home.

We should do another Saturday at Climbers and Creepers, when more people can hopefully join us.

Uwila · 04/09/2006 08:58

I'm here.

Took me about 45 minutes to type and post that message though, so posts crossed.

Nanou1 · 04/09/2006 09:33

morning all! your sat sounds fun! how are you today MrsBigD? thanks for your email. will check it out! Did you settle on a date for next meet up then? is it 15th? re venue, agree we could try somewhere closer to Uwila so that she can have a few . uwila... lost your email address; can you cat me pls.

fatfox · 04/09/2006 09:35

Uwila

We went to Climbers & Creepers in Kew again Sunday! DS watched the whole Horrible Science show again - which was an exact repeat of the one we saw on Saturday. He enjoyed it more though, as he knew the answers to all the quiz questions second time round

I'm always up for Kew Gardens as we love it and am usually around Saturdays as well.

MrsBigD · 04/09/2006 09:49

We're up for Kew as well most weekends. dd and ds love Climbers & Creepers

Uwila · 04/09/2006 09:49

You lost me e-mail address?!?!?!?! Well, must not be very important to you. Just kidding, I've emailed you now (as I still have your e-mail address).

fatfox · 04/09/2006 09:59

oooh - I can feel another trip to Climbers and Creepers coming on ....

MrsBigD - how is your tooth and your general self today? Are you still on the same anti-biotics?

Nanou1 · 04/09/2006 10:13

don't uwila.... am feeling bad enough as it is . i genuinely don't know what happened there as i "lost" a few vital emails . re kew makes me think we should take the annual family pass.... went once with dd and she had a good time. reckon she is the perfect age for it now and would be a great way for our kids to know each other too. quokka - you better today?! what a lovely dh!

MrsBigD · 04/09/2006 10:17

Nanou1 can recommend annual pass for Kew. If you go 4 x a year it's defo worth it. During summer we're usually in Kew every other weekend at least.

Fatfox, teeth are still there , reaction to ab's lessening due to popping antihistamines... roll on holiday so I can just collapse on deck of the cruiser and relax

OP posts:
Nanou1 · 04/09/2006 10:26

mrsbigd... just think tooth ache will be gone by the time you go on hols .

fatfox · 04/09/2006 10:29

Nanou

I would also highly recommend annual Kew pass. I have other friends in Ealing who go there every weekend as well. We practically live in there

The basic pass is quite cheap, and there is a Friends version which is dearer. I think the basic pass works out about 3.5 x the cost of a single visit, so MrsBigD is right; you soon get your money's worth

Uwila · 04/09/2006 10:36

yep, get the pass. If you are likely to go just you and DD, you could do just one pass. Then on the occasion DH joins you he can pay for the single entry. My DH doesn't like to go if it involves a mumsnet meet-up. So we just have one pass.

MrsBigD · 04/09/2006 10:45

had also a post typed up saying 'go for the kew pass' but then my connection went belly up

Also a benefit of having an annual pass is if you take somebody in with you they pay discounted entry fee Every little helps.

Paddlechick666 · 04/09/2006 10:45

my parents just bought us a Kew pass for Xmas (early i know!).

are kids free or do you have to use your visitor passes for them?

i'm off to richmond to do some banking and get dd some shoes.

anyone up for a quick coffee? have to be back home by 1pm tho..........

PC666

ps: Fatfox your birthday celebration was amazing. I can't stay up past 11pm and I've only got 1 child (not counting DH) and am not pg!

Paddlechick666 · 04/09/2006 10:46

erm, silly me, my mobile number is 07813 834 142 if you fancy a swift coffee!

Uwila · 04/09/2006 10:49

Oh, I think it is very brave to put mobile numbers up here. You never know what king of whacko might be taking them down. (Like me, for instance)

Uwila · 04/09/2006 10:50

And for short notice meet-ups / lunch I for one am restricted to Chiswick. So, if anyone ever fancies lunch in Chiswick, I'm game. (Fridays are best)

Nanou1 · 04/09/2006 11:10

thanks for advice guys. will do!

Uwila · 04/09/2006 11:12

Cool, so shall we organise another Kew meet-up where Nanou and little Nanou can join us?
