Let's start a new thread the old one is getting too long

I'm off travelling 22-29th but before then I hope I'd be able to 'find' some time but probably not in the week leading up to 22nd as dh would probably divorce me

My top tip for returning to work is to take a picture with you and keep it in your drawer. That way you can have a peek when you want, but it won't bestaring you in the face making you feel guilty all day when you are trying to focus on work.

xoxoxo · 07/09/2006 11:47

Oh pc: I really feel for you. Hope your day improves.

MrsBigD · 07/09/2006 13:49

PC666 don't fret too much it will get better. When I returned to work first I was totally frazzled, and I'm usually dubed as 'non flappable'!

I just had to... look at this

OP posts:
MrsBigD · 07/09/2006 14:07

and this

OP posts:
MrsBigD · 07/09/2006 14:19

PC has your day gotten any better?

OP posts:
Paddlechick666 · 07/09/2006 14:45

no, it's getting worse!

3 people have asked me if I am pregnant again and one was being introduced to me for the first time!!

I sat in bird pooh whilst having my trendy bacon, blue cheese and balsamic spinach wrap outside the Tate Modern.

dh is TOO busy in his new job to respond to my texts

Grandma says dd has slept most of the day and doesn't seem to have noticed i'm not there

At least my computer is working........

MrsBigD your kids are very good looking.

PC666

MrsBigD · 07/09/2006 14:52

PC oh boy!

Pregnant again? Next time just say 'no, are you?'

One of the mother's at dd's school has developed a tummy, she's the tall lean type (bitch!), so I was 99% sure she's pg but didn't want to ask just in case ...

Re dd Look at the bright side... I know you feel awful because dd isn't missing you but wouldn't you feel even worse if she'd be bawling her eyes out all day?

OP posts:
quokka · 07/09/2006 15:14

Oh pc sounds like a nightmare, just think it can only get better .

oxoxo thanks for great day yesterday. Surprisingly ds2 has got the squirts and I don't even think your ds2 touched him! Oh well it's getting better already and ds1 is fine so far?

Well and truely over the birthady now, spent all morning telling the same story 4 times over to various family memebers in Oz. Missed them all yesterday as I was out all day, which is good for them as I will be footing the phone bill.

Paddlechick666 · 07/09/2006 15:29

plan to fuel pregnancy rumours by stuffing face with a twix.

just seen pic of colleagues new baby girl and feeling broody.

note to self, must win lottery............

ps: also good that no bosses are nearby so intend to sneak off soon!

fatfox · 07/09/2006 17:36

MrsBigD - Agree with PC666 - yur kiddies are very handsome

PC - you poor thing !!! Its horrible isn't it?

Just think, it can only get better. You won't sit in bird poo tomorrow anyway

When I went back to work after DD, I had to drive past another school just like DS's and all the mums doing the school run, while I was on my way to the office. For about three weeks I was tearful on that journey, but it does get better I promise.

Think of all those trendy sandwiches and being able to cruise MN threads at lunchtime, with no interruptions. And no one vomiting on you of course

Is no one up for Kew Gardens this Saturday then?

MrsBigD · 07/09/2006 18:04

Thanks for the compliments on my kids ... dont' know where they get their looks from must be the widely mixed gene pool they 'derived' from

PC666 hope you're feeling a bit better now being back athome, well I'm hoping you're at home anyhow

OP posts:
Paddlechick666 · 07/09/2006 22:21

well, i got home about 5:30ish in the end and dd was very pleased to see me and I her!

she's been a bit clingy this eve but has been tucked up since 8:30pm so if we're lucky we'll have another "thru" night tonight.

thanks ladies for the moral support, it feels a bit funny that I'm not going in again tomorrow lol.

can't do Kew on Saturday I'm afraid, we've got visitors and don't have our membership thru yet.

hope all you SAHMs enjoyed the sun today.

night night, sleep tight
PC666

ps: have continued to feed phantom pregnancy with crisps and wine and mini choc muffins!

MrsBigD · 08/09/2006 10:16

you're not feeding your phantom pregnancy... you're feeding your brain and nerves

Quiet on here today!

SO IS 15TH SEPTEMBER 2006 another meetup?

OP posts:
xoxoxo · 08/09/2006 10:58

no need to shout!!!

I'm up for eats on 15th . Last suggestion was Richmond/ Twickenham/ Kew: no where smokey.

What about cheap and cheerful Pizza Express in central Richmond? It has an outside area if decent weather and v large non smoking area.?

Uwila · 08/09/2006 12:03

Same old same old. We did pizza in Richmond the time before last. Too bad you missed it.

Uwila · 08/09/2006 12:14

What about Kingston? I can take one train. Ealingites can take one bus. And I think people in Twickers can take one train or bus. Does that cover everyone for easy transport?

There's a Strada in Kingston if people want Itallina/pizza. Or we could do Indian. Or there's Frankie and Benny or Tony Roma in the Odeon.

Any thoughts?

MrsBigD · 08/09/2006 12:28

Kingston fine for me and any food type as long as they serve booze

OP posts:
Uwila · 08/09/2006 12:49

Tony Roma

MrsBigD · 08/09/2006 12:52

Thanks, now I'm hungry LOL

OP posts:
Uwila · 08/09/2006 14:55

man, it's quiet here....

Nanou1 · 08/09/2006 15:03

hi there! sorry had a miserable week where we have been waiting confirmation of dh's new job. pure madness of agency saying you have the job to "99% sure"; it changed from one day to the next... anyway, dh got confirmation a few minutes ago that they except him to start 9am on Monday. was so very worried and stressed out by it all .... 15th would be good for me too if still happening. mrsbigd your kids are very cute! how is everybody?
