Let's start a new thread the old one is getting too long

I'm off travelling 22-29th but before then I hope I'd be able to 'find' some time but probably not in the week leading up to 22nd as dh would probably divorce me

Oh yes, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to the flock leader.

Paddlechick666 · 06/09/2006 10:57

hi all
sorry for radio silence but it's been a full on 24 hours.

yesterday was supposed to be cruisy but ended up being a bit mental.

got a bit teary last night when putting dd to bed at thought of leaving her all day etc. not helped by dh planning to take her out at 7am to go up and take ss1 to his first day at new school.

Anyways, around 9pm all hell breaks loose as dd starts projectile vomiting. poor little girl, it was awful!

finally settled around 1ish and needless to say I am not at work today. Boss has agreed to let me have annual leave LOL!!!

will go in tomorrow.

FF, i was intending to wear some black linen 3/4 lengths and a white t shirt

childcare was supposed to be DH today but normally will be Grandma (weds & thurs). Am looking for childcare starting October for Mon & Friday tho.

any advice from you seasoned Mums on dd's food intake today? planning to just breastfeed and leave off any solids for now.

she seems okay if a little subdued...........

i'm whacked tho! at least Grandma will be here later so she can cook dinner tonight lol.

hippity happity hoppity birthday Quokka!

leans over to sneakily grab a slice of birthday cake............

Uwila · 06/09/2006 11:06

Oh my. What a horrid night. But she was just hinkin of you. Knowing how you didn't want to go to work today she kidly arranged matters so you wouldn't.

Yes, I think liquids are all that really matter when they are sick. If my kids are sick and don't want to eat, I don't make a fuss so long as they get some liquid in.

Oh shit... late for meeting. PRIORITIES!!!

Nanou1 · 06/09/2006 11:09

uwila.... ROFL

MrsBigD · 06/09/2006 11:16

PC666 and there was me winging about my rough night with ds because he barfed after screaming too much not wanting to go to bed... Nothing in comp to yours. Hope she's better soon.

Uwila... defo priorities! MN comes first

Happy quokkaday!

Paddle - you poor thing. At least your boss has a taste of what's to come - sounds quite ubderstanding though

It could have been worse - imagine if you'd got all dressed up in your nice linen, ready to go off to new job, and she's vomited on you at that point

Nanou1 · 06/09/2006 11:47

fatfox!!!! you are talking as a woman who's gone through that before!!!

fatfox · 06/09/2006 11:51

Nanou - what happened?

Nanou1 · 06/09/2006 12:12

fatfox? me confused?

Paddlechick666 · 06/09/2006 12:16

ah well, she seems somewhat recovered this morning altho not too bothered about feeding - breast or otherwise.

will try with some cooled boiled water later.

i'm glad to be in such experienced company, it's always reassuring for a new mum.

luckily it was only our pjs that got vommed on not the linen trews!

not sure about my boss being understanding, it was he who suggested i sit a professional accrediation exam whilst on maternity - because of course the company was still paying me!!

actually they weren't as i was only on smp after 6 weeks.

still, hey ho, it's a SUNNY day and DH and DD are doing the garden whilst I inhale a bit more dettol.

still no sign of that birthday cake...........

bumpmakestwo · 06/09/2006 13:07

I meant Scary in a school teacher kind of way...which obviosuly not having met you, was a judgement made in error!!!! Me just been to my 1st NCT Bumps and Babies group which wasn't as dawnting as I thought. They got this young personal trainer to talk to us about nutrition but I think he was a bit overwhelmed by all the boobs out at 11am!!

bumpmakestwo · 06/09/2006 13:11

Oh and hippo birdit two uwe quokka Did someone mention birthday cake? Pls tell me it's chocolate!!!

suejoneziscalmernow · 06/09/2006 13:17

"I meant Scary in a school teacher kind of way...which obviosuly not having met you, was a judgement made in error"

No, no, no error - definitely scary in a Jean Brodie kinda way only larger. Dont listen to the others who've met me, they're just too scared to say the truth. I am scarily bossy. (Though not as boosy as MrsBigD of course)

MrsBigD · 06/09/2006 13:25

Oy YOU, I'm not bossy!

I'm just being efficient in the Kraut kind'a'way

And to reiterate, SJ is not scarily bossy she just loves wagging her finger a lot

bumpmakestwo · 06/09/2006 13:29

Mmmm so where did the name comes from 'Suejonesziscalmernow' ?

fatfox · 06/09/2006 13:31

MrsBigD - I think Sue meant boozy, not bossy

suejoneziscalmernow · 06/09/2006 13:32

aha - I see where you're comng from now...

Normal name is Suejonez

was changed to suejonezispanicking when I got my travle dates for my adoption

was changed to suejoneziscalmernow because I am calmer now (and the dates have moved back a week so positively chilled)

Uwila · 06/09/2006 13:33

SJ is scary. She IS IS IS... And I mean wicked sacry. But, wait 'til she goes head to head with the terrible twos. He will tame her and put her in her rightful place of subservient parent. It happens to the best of us.

bumpmakestwo · 06/09/2006 13:34

Ok got it. SJ you're calmer because of the adoption thing, but stressed because of the work thing?!

suejoneziscalmernow · 06/09/2006 13:36

Right! (but am also scary)

bumpmakestwo · 06/09/2006 13:39

Ahh why is it that dd always wakes 30mins after being put down? Don't normal kids nap for 2hrs? Leave you all to discuss SJ's scaryness and I'll be in the garden with the mower!

MrsBigD · 06/09/2006 14:10

dd wakes up and you hit the garden with the mower???

Ah boozy is o.k. 'hehehehe'

as for terrible 2's I keep offering SJ my kids but she just won't take them
