As Nanou01 has declared me group leader here's a new thread to try and arrange our next meet-up

Oldies and newbies equally welcome :)Grin

I'm pretty free for the rest of May, bar some dentist appointments

June is very barren so any entry in my social calendar would be most welcome.

Meet without the kids any evening
Meet with the kids only weekends

When and where would whoever like to meet? Grin

So Thursday 19th or Thursday 27th (thursday better for me too).

Don't worry about the waddle - I waddle anyway without excuse of pregnancy.

MrsRecycle · 20/06/2006 15:21

27th would be even better for me as dds will be at grandparents. But could would like to see Yanks so Thursday 20th is still okay.

MrsBigD · 20/06/2006 15:25

Thursday 20th or 27th July are fine for me :)

OOPs got my dates mixed - Thursday 20th or 27th Blush

apsmum · 20/06/2006 17:54

Can do 20th or 27th...

SnowBoo · 20/06/2006 20:45

Well once i've had my monster baby i will be out to play but (hopefully!) i will be having my little boy around the 18th July if all goes well with the dr! He has promised to try and speed things up (ie, have a poke about) so no point making plans too far from hosp.

How are you doing MrsR? I have a 5lb+ baby in here as at 32weeks so i know about the waddling. And every other pregnancy related pain! Actually nesting to bits now, built his cot today, washing house down and going bananas for soap and cucumber.

Is anyone going to the jazz? I will be there (poss) so if you are going let me know and i'll say hi!

suejonez · 20/06/2006 22:32

So Snowboo, if you have him on 18th then you'll be able to come out to play on 20th or 27th? Grin

YanksUponThames · 21/06/2006 13:31

Well, poo. Right this second, I'm not sure I can nail down a particular date. We're planning a trip to the US relatives, like I said, though the way things are going it likely won't happen until the very end of July or early August. Before we leave for that, dh has an important meeting week at work 5-9 July and then (after sorting out whatever happens at work) wants a long weekend holiday someplace south-west, like Devon or Cornwall. Seaside without the tat if possible, peaceful country scenery and that sort of thing, maybe even driving a car around someplace where traffic isn't such a pain in the ass.

SO....tentatively, it's looking like we might be on holiday Thurs 20 July - Tues 25 July, so therefore Thurs 27 July would be better for dinner. But I might find out that our travel plans would work better the following weekend (rail works, available vacancies, etc.), so I better research the trip and find out!

MrsRecycle · 21/06/2006 13:33

[hijack alear] I'm fine SnowBoo - thanks for asking. Will be having ds week commencing 14th August. Am getting a bit breathless and tired in the evening but apart from that all okay. Sitting here eating fresh pineapple to get rid of my heartburn. Everytime I'm up the High Street I look at all the pg women to see if they're you but they all have girls with them. There seems to be so many around at the moment. The hospital wanted me to have that awful glucose test and I told them that the fresh fruit juice I had just had would have caused the raise blood sugars. The specialist midwife let me off and when I next have bloods, I'll make sure I lay off the fresh fruit. Only 5 weeks left at work now - not that I'm counting! When do you finish?

[hijack over]

MrsRecycle · 21/06/2006 13:44

Hi Yanks! Oh glad you can do the 27th. Have you thought about Eastern England - Kent/East Sussex. Very beautiful and picturesque. We have a caravan close to Rye and it's one of my favourite places. We could even meet up at the weekend. I go there every weekend and never have problems with traffic. The beach is beautiful as well.

MrsBigD · 21/06/2006 13:46

Shall we target 27th then?

OP posts:
suejonez · 21/06/2006 14:08

Either date fine by me.

Yanks - have you thought of Isle of Wight? Some of it very touristy but north coast isn't and its like being back in the 1950's. St Helens is lovely - tiny village by the sea, beach hut selling lovely food and a sandy beach. Also nice are Seaview and Bembridge.

cottages
other accomodation

Oh and houses to rent local to sheen/richmond/kew here

All sorted then!

Uwila · 21/06/2006 14:10

27 is okay for me. We can celebrate my birthday a day early. So, everyone bring me a nice pressie.

MrsBigD · 21/06/2006 14:13

I have a lovely photograph of 3 little owls... will that do as a pressie Uwila?

OP posts:
suejonez · 21/06/2006 14:14

Will only bring me a present if you let me go to Kaz with you...

MrsBigD · 21/06/2006 14:15

sj that's blackmail you go girl

OP posts:
Uwila · 21/06/2006 14:21

Sure, I'll let you come carry my bags. But, you have to pay for your own plane ticket. And, don't get your hopes up for Almaty, as we are going to Atyrau. Still want to come?

Actually, it's not even certain that I am going yet.

Uwila · 21/06/2006 14:25

Oh, and I love owls. (which ic probably evident by the name uwila)

suejonez · 21/06/2006 14:26

Nah, don't fancy Altyrau, sniff. Specially if you're going to make me pay to carry your bags

If you fly Air Astana, let me know what they're like, I'm thinking of using them and I hear they're quite good.

suejonez · 21/06/2006 14:27

is that where Uwila comes from?

MrsBigD · 21/06/2006 14:29

SJ Uwila 'nicked' that from old German and it means owl or so she tells me LOL

OP posts:
Uwila · 21/06/2006 14:35

Yep, uwila is the old german word for owl. Sorry, sue, bu tI'm poor and my company is cheap. Pretty sure I won't get a ticket for you on their bill.

I only go to glamorous oil production / construction sites. I'm going to give them some IT training. I'm especially keen to find out if they really have an internet connection. Rumor is they don't. Should be fun.

suejonez · 21/06/2006 14:53

I'm told all internet connections are still dial up slow v slow in Kazakhstan. Can't believe an oil company wouldn't have one at all though.

There's a cheap OIL cmpany?!

And anyway I'm sure I read on one recent thread that you're a multimillionaire who shouldn't be allowed tax relief on childcare

YanksUponThames · 21/06/2006 15:00

Of course Uwila's company is cheap. All oil companies are cheap. That's why they're rich. And Republican. Heh.

Uwila · 21/06/2006 15:05

AH, if only I worked for an oil company. The client is an oin company. The company I'm going to visit is an engineering and contruction company who is building the pipelines which take the oil from another pipeline to various locations, some plants, some more pipelines. Anyway this other company has just set up camp in Atyrau. They might be in a posh office, and they might be in a a trailer at site. I shall soon find out.
