As Nanou01 has declared me group leader here's a new thread to try and arrange our next meet-up

Oldies and newbies equally welcome :)Grin

I'm pretty free for the rest of May, bar some dentist appointments

June is very barren so any entry in my social calendar would be most welcome.

Meet without the kids any evening
Meet with the kids only weekends

When and where would whoever like to meet? Grin

Okay, so y'all want to eat pizza in Richmond at Pizzeria Rustica? That's fine with me (especially since I can walk there from here), and I'm impressed with MrsBigD for being such a soldier and jumping in offering to set it up and all that. I mean, I can do that, too, so please let me know if you need me to check in etc. But then MrsBigD complains about not having a social life besides us mumsnetters, so I guess we need to give her things to do. Obviously she already looked up the venue and its precise address on the net. Once again (here's my wussy disclaimer), I suggested the place because I've actually eaten there a few times and found the pizza and the prices and the service rather decent, especially given my so-far-rather-limited UK experience.

YanksUponThames · 22/06/2006 17:13

I don't have a social life besides y'all either, I might add. But now I've got all sorts of other family & bureaucratic issues to deal with too. BUT: Please (anybody!) let me know (mumsnet, email, whatever) if anybody wants to meet up/shop/swill coffee/swill wine/hang out near Richmond Green on any given afternoon....

YanksUponThames · 22/06/2006 17:28

at the miniskirt + see-thru blouse on "granny". Hee. I agree that after (in my case) 24 hrs of labor concluding with a C-section and a few pills' worth of hydrocodone, I also wouldn't give a rat's ass what anyone was wearing. Though I must admit I'm glad that my mom was on the other side of the continent at the time, since she's more of the "chav/slob" look even more so than just the "see-thru-blouse" look. Seeing a fat (and hungry!), healthy, well-oxygenated infant, after it was all over, was all that mattered.

Me Me Me - finally a date I can make and a location that I can get to after work on a Thurs.

Can I come too?

YanksUponThames · 22/06/2006 17:39

Oh, and I want to be neighborly and invite anybody who cares and wants to bring a kid(s) to the indoor playground at Kew Gardens -- since we live close enough for it to pay off, dh & I decided to get a membership at Kew (which pays for itself if you go there more than 3 times in a year). Which means (until next May) we can get in for free, including children. If anybody wants to meet up there, let me know. We can negotiate on splitting the cost of entry + snacks/tea etc.

YanksUponThames · 22/06/2006 17:40

Hey, I definitely want to meet up with anyone calling themselves lazycow.

YanksUponThames · 22/06/2006 18:02

MrsRecycle -- at your mum at your 1st delivery, especially now that I've met her. I think I can picture it, actually. But I can totally relate to your not feeling in the mood for it at the time.
Hope your pg is continuing well! When I was at the point you're at, I felt like a @#$% sausage, and I was honestly happy to see how well you're doing. Also glad the weather has cooled off a little bit!

MrsBigD · 22/06/2006 18:27

lazycow - welcome and of course you can come, the more the merrier

Yanks... yes please please please leave the booking and coordination to me. What else will keep me out of mischief whilst in the office???

And yes Kew Playarea is great isn't it. We're there at least every 2nd weekend so really should meet up

suejonez · 22/06/2006 23:36

MrsBigD · 23/06/2006 10:15

SJ you've got way too much time to find threads like that . Saying that I just posted on it LOL

Yanks - I'm so enjoying this pg. I really can't believe how well it's going. Probably because I've got no medical staff to worry me all the time (haven't seen a midwife yet).

I've even voluteered to look after Phoenix this weekend along with my niece (so 4 kids). J is horrified but I said I need the practice.

I'm definitely up for meeting with you during the day once I finish work. Kew would be lovely.
