I'm looking to move to Eastleigh or Southampton and I wanted to try and make some new friends in the area. So hello! Who are you and where abouts are you? Also, do any of you know any private landlords who take DSS and don't go through an agency??

well the top of west quay has a multitude of open plan cafe's but it would be good to plan this in advance for an idea of numbers. unless we can book somewhere?

The picnic idea was quite good for when the weather brightens up a bit plus all the kids could run riot without disturbing anyone but i spose that wont be for a month or so yet

pinklilith · 17/03/2006 21:03

yeah thats true, I think West Quay or somewhere like that is gonna be our best bet, just because its bigger, unless you know a major size cafe somewhere.

What about a pub with an indoor play area so that the LO's can run around and wear themselves out.

I found \link{http://pub-explorer.com/hampshire/pub/millhousenetleyabbey.htm\this}

And it is only 1 mile from netley station so not too far to walk. I dont know what this pub is like but it looks similar to one near me that is quite nice.

Is there any more like that in Southampton or would everyone prefer a cafe.

pinklilith · 18/03/2006 09:15

ooh no that looks good, I might bring my cousin, mind you she's 5ft now so couldn't go in and play lol, that'll disappoint her!

You'll have to get her to wear a long skirt and crouch down slightly, that way they will never know Grin

chjlly · 18/03/2006 18:51

Some friends & I used to meet there as it was free for a while during the day. The only thing is there isn't al lot of room actually where the play area is for adults to sit & keep an eye on the kids, although they may have refurbished an sorted that since!!
The food was nice in there too if you wanted to eat

Hi all

The Millhouse is just down the road from me, so I could go check it out for you. I have only been there once myself recently, so I don't know what it looked like before, but it does look as though some renovations have been going on.
It has an inside and outside play area, so if we go on a fine day there would be heaps of room.
One day during the easter holidays would be great.
Let's get planning

Kiwiana · 19/03/2006 11:52

pinklilith.... I can't do PM's ... you could email me though if we are allowed to give email addresses that is!!
[email protected]
Any other mums feel free to drop me a line too. Sometimes I forget to check messages on here!

Ciao for now

Just a quickie before my dinner burns. I am available over Easter, Mondays and fridays are the best for me as DH goes to golf on those days and i may be able to get him to drop me off somewhere. If not Im sure any day will be fine.

About the Ann Summers, I would love to but its DH's birthday the following week and all my money has gone on that. Thanks for the invite though.

pinklilith · 19/03/2006 14:41

well I should have cash around the easter holidays, so I'm up for meeting, tell me where and when and I will do my best.

It'd be great to meet up when every one can make it. I can't make plans very far in advance at the mo tho cos boyfriends in & out of hospital, but give me a time and a place and i'll do my best!

pebblemum · 20/03/2006 16:46

nothing too serious i hope GarfieldsGirl.

Love the invite pinklilith.

Am just about to start a thread on this but maybe one of you on here can help. I need a nice english restaurant in Southampton. Needs to have nice relaxing atmosphere ie not like a rowdy pub, quite cheap and cheap taxi ride from Botley Park Hotel. Any ideas?

pinklilith · 20/03/2006 17:08

don't know southampton very well, Tommy might be able to help.

He had an accident at work back in the summer, and has had loads of skin grafts etc, and is just waiting for the bones to grow back in his leg. He's always been accident prone, broken legs, feet, head etc, but he's now taken it to the extreme!

I think any meet ups got to be somewhere with a play area, I know I don't fancy chasing my 4 year old around!

pinklilith · 20/03/2006 19:32

theres a hall in Southampton, the advert says its free to hire, do people want me to call them?
