I'm looking to move to Eastleigh or Southampton and I wanted to try and make some new friends in the area. So hello! Who are you and where abouts are you? Also, do any of you know any private landlords who take DSS and don't go through an agency??

pinklilith · 21/02/2006 17:14

How are things going pinklilith?

pinklilith · 22/02/2006 15:00

We've decided to try and go for the house on Wodehouse road, so don't worry too much about the property paper for now. If we get the place, I'll have you and a few other girls over for a housewarming coffee.

Hi Emelie
I joined this thread the other day.Im in portsmouth but as long as there is a train station im able to meet up anywhere. My youngest is 2.4yrs.
From what i have read on here it seems as though everyone is moving house at the moment, Im not unfortunately. Hopefully once they are settled we can all do a big meet up, like the ones they seem to have on the london threads. In the meantime though I am willing to meet if you want to.

Where is easier for people? Portsmouth is a bit far, but if money looks good I can do it. Southampton is easier. What would people prefer?

I can do either although I work full time so can only do weekends or evenings if we are having an adult meet up!!

Emelie · 23/02/2006 11:11

Well Southampton seems like a reasonable time to do it. Ok I'll suggest a date and if you can't do it you suggest another? how's that? How's a day time meet in Southampton on March 18th? IF thats ok then where would you wanna meet and what time?

OP posts:
pinklilith · 23/02/2006 11:26

that may need translating lol, Southampton seems like the place to do it, where about is best for people? West Quay or maybe Bargate?

If we are talking about doing something with kids how about a kids play area maybe Krazy Kingdom (can't remember if it is that or Kids Kingdom ) in Hedge end then we also don't have to battle through town at a weekend!

pebblemum · 23/02/2006 13:36

18th of march sounds good to me, what time? DS1 has karate between 10-12 on saturdays but could join you after if thats ok.
I dont know southampton too well so wherever you all decide to meet can someone post directions. I will have to catch a train so approx distance from station would be good.

pinklilith · 23/02/2006 16:25

I don't drive so how easy is that krazy kids gonna be to get to? I have to come in by train

OP posts:
pinklilith · 23/02/2006 16:41

If it were warmer I would suggest a picnic, is there anywhere indoors or sheltered where we can do that?

OP posts:
chjlly · 23/02/2006 21:29

OK Krazy kids I don't think is easy by train!
Let me have a think!! something new may have sprung up near a station so may have a chat with local friends tomorrow!

pinklilith · 24/02/2006 14:05

cool, let me know, at least we have a date set then.

I don't know if it is too far away but there is \link{http://www.serendipitysams.co.uk/centre/index.htm\Serendipity Sams} which isn't far from Romsey train station.
Or near Eastleigh Train staition is \link{http://www.steamtrain.co.uk\Eastleigh Lakside Railway}

chjlly · 28/02/2006 13:31

Bump

chjlly · 01/03/2006 10:35

.

pinklilith · 02/03/2006 10:03

sorry for the late reply, but Romsey sounds good, the train one wouldn't entertain stephie very long.

OP posts:
chjlly · 02/03/2006 10:52

That's 2 of us then! anyone else?

pebblemum · 02/03/2006 11:16

Count me in, Serendipity Sams sounds ok as I will probably have to bring DS1 (8ys)and he would enjoy that too. The Lakeside Railway is good but very very cold this time of year, we took DS2 to see Thomas on the 27th Dec and we froze our b***ks off, dh didnt though he sat in cafe drinking hot choc til the ride finished!! nice place to go in the summer though with a picinic.
