Twiga · 22/02/2006 22:53

I can come after all, as PIL getting the early ferry home on Sat morning - that's if it's ok this late in the day?! Don't really know Glasgow at all and not sure which station I'll come into from dumfries, if it's central i'd be happy to meet with those meeting there first - my sense of direction is hopeless!! My dd is just over 5 months old. I'll look up trains in the morning and get back to you on here, but pretty much 95% sure I'm coming now - bit scared but good to know there will be some other first timers so not so bad.

prettybird · 23/02/2006 09:13

Twiga: from Dumfires, you'll come into Glasgow Central. You can either follow my directions below, or arrange to meet Aimsmum, who will be walking past Central on her way to Princes Square.

PS - Missing bit from instructions - Gordon Street is the street on the main entrance on Central. ie, get off the train walk straight ahead, under the big clock, past the ticket offices (on your left) and you will walk out on to Gordon Street. Turn right along Gordon Street and follow the rest of my instrcutions.

Look forward to seeing you!

Sorry you can't now make it Judebear and Starsheaker. Next time!

Kidstrack2 · 23/02/2006 12:40

Ok i'm in, dp has armed me with a mobile i'll be coming into central station too, and Aimsmum said she would be able to meet people if they like but not sure when my train gets in so I'll meet you all there now that i know where i'm going, so i'm ok to meet you at princes square, i bought my wedding dress in Monsoon last yr so i now know where i'm going. I'm excited and nervous!

gscrym · 23/02/2006 14:04

I'm going to have to back out. DS has a chest infection and I've got a stinking cold. Probably best not to expose us to all your lovely litle ones.

prettybird · 23/02/2006 14:17

That's a pity gscrym - I was looking forward to meeting you finally!

See you there Kistrack2 - glad you can make it!

Twiga · 23/02/2006 22:37

Thanks Prettybird, I've checked out trains and stuff and will actually be getting into glasgow at 10.45am - next one would get me in too late - so I'll just follow your instructions. Is there a John Lewis nearby at all - I need to get re-fitted for nursing bras and though I could maybe do that with the excess time before hand? Looking fwd to it but pretty nervous. See you all saturday!

mawbroon · 24/02/2006 08:48

There's a John Lewis at the Buchanan Galleries beside the concert hall Twiga so it's not too far from where we are all meeting.

prettybird · 24/02/2006 08:52

Twiga - if you turn left UP Buchanan Street when you get to Borders, then John Lweis is in Buchanan Galleries at the stop of the street. Just gop in the top entrance, up the "mall" and John Lewis as at the end. The lingerie section is on the first floor.

I'll probably be in the vicinity, as I'll be getting new school shoes for ds - also on the first floor of John Lewis.

mcmudda · 24/02/2006 14:14

Twiga - just to confuse you - I found Bravissimo much better than John Lewis for nursing bras and fitting service, but it's more likely to be packed on a Saturday - harder to find too - dh always has to lead me there by the hand if I'm underwear shopping! I have no sense of direction, so couldn't actually direct you there myself anyway. will stop typing now....
