just noticed this and would have loved to have come but PIL are up visiting, will keep eyes peeled for next one - if you have one - I'm in dumfries btw, temporary move with dh's job - usually in Aberdeen. Hope you have a lovely time...

prettybird · 20/02/2006 09:25

Back after my skiing holiday (baaaad mother alert - took ds out of school for a few days).

I'm still on for Saturday. I'll be there with ds, 5, who will really look forward to seeing Toothache's ds again (they've apparently known each other "before", when they worked tofether in Edinburgh! ).

I'll see if I can find a nice helium balloon - it'll be a treat for ds and it would be a way of making "our" table(s) more obvious.

I'll probably not be on again today (or at least, I shouldn't be! ), as I have a mountain of e-mails and work to catch up on. But I'll try to have a look again at some point, prbably later tonight at home (but time is going to be tight, as dh is away all week)

mawbroon · 20/02/2006 10:08

Hey, Loobie, JennyLee, KAZ09 and Jambuttie. I live outside Bathgate. I moved here from Edinburgh 2 years ago and because I was working full time before DS, I hardly know anyone round here with young kids (ds is 17 weeks). I would DEFINITELY come to a meet up in Livvi.

JennyLee · 20/02/2006 14:30

great, lots of Livingston and West lothian people we should figure out a meet up date!!!

Kidstrack2 · 20/02/2006 14:38

I'm still thinking of coming too I'll let you know Aimsmum, dp a bit unsure of me going, he has the total internet/chatroom mad stocker thing in his head, I said if anyone kidknapped me they would bring me back cause I'm terribly awful at housekeeping

prettybird · 20/02/2006 14:55

Honest - there's not a hairy trucker amongst us - although I can't vouch for the first timers! How do we know you are not one?!

For those coming into Queen Street station, to get to Princes Square, come out of Queen Street towards the Underground. Walk past the Underground along a (wide) alley, towards Buchanan Street (alteranitively, turn right on to West Regent Strret and then first left into Buchanan Street). Turn left dwon Buchnanan Street (pedestrianised). Go past a church (on your right), crossing the pdestrian corssing (still on Buchanan Street). Cross St Vincent Street and keep walking down Buchanan Street. Go past Borders on your left. Look up and you will see a large metal peacock on top of a building on your left. That's Princes Square. Turn left into the first entrance (smaller peacocks mark out the entrances).

Buzzy Wares is downstairs. If you go dwon the escalator, it is on the opposite side, across the mosaic. If yuo go dwon one of the wooden staircases, it is between and behind the staircases. We'll try to nab tables close to the mosaics, so we can watch the mobile kids running around.

Coming from Central station (if you don't want to take up Aimsmum's offer of showing you there - she is very nice, honest! - and will be accompanies by a very pretty 5 year old ), turn right onto Gordon Street. Walk along Gordon Street until you come to Borders Bookshop. Turn right - and then follow the instrucitons above about looking for the metal peacock.

It is straight forward, honest!

Now I really do need to get back to some work!

starshaker · 20/02/2006 14:59

i can vouch that kidstrack2 is not a hairy trucker. ive met her once for coffee

prettybird · 20/02/2006 15:05

... and I know you are not a hairy trucker from the October meet-up!

It'll be nice to see your dd again and see how much she has grown.

starshaker · 20/02/2006 15:10

well i am hoping to make it but will know on the day lol

Twiga · 20/02/2006 15:11

Hi Starshaker, still meaning to take you up on your kind offer of meet-up next time you're over Dumfries direction, will get organised and CAT soon. If you need to check my non-hairy trucker credentials im pretty sure some of these guys have met my pal Ja9 and she'd in turn vouch for me

starshaker · 20/02/2006 15:16

thats a pitty im partial to the odd hairy trucker

Twiga · 20/02/2006 15:19
Grin
Kidstrack2 · 20/02/2006 15:20

Aww starshaker you have blown my cover

kalex · 20/02/2006 15:23

SOOOO GUTTTED that I can't come

jambuttie · 20/02/2006 15:54

I too am gutted we aint going

OP posts:
mcmudda · 20/02/2006 15:59

I am not a hairy trucker - the lovely ladies from the north London/Herts meet ups can back me up on this - I hope! I've escaped exile and returned to the homeland now

prettybird · 20/02/2006 16:17

So, as far as I can make out, the following are still on for Saturday (Question marks are for those who hope to make it but aren't sure)

Loobie?
Judebear
Aimsmum
Prettybird
Gomez
Mummygow
McMudda
Toothache
Gscrym
Vitomum
Chapsmum
Kidstrack2?
Starshaker?
Fob

Plus assorted kids.

If everyone turns up, it should be a good turn out for a Scottish meet-up!

Will defninitely try to be there before 12 to "nab" tables. Will buy a helium balloon on Thursday/Friday night and let you know what it is (probably Thomas or a Disney character, although I'm sure ds would prefer it if I could find something Star Wars/Harry Potter/Spiderman/Batman related)

I'll probably come in by train, so will be coming from Central. I won't need Aimsmum to show me the way though! Better that I get there early and be there for the early comers - plus to be sure of a table/tables close to the mosaic.

sweetkitty · 20/02/2006 16:25

I'm so gutted I can't come either

mcmudda · 20/02/2006 16:34
