West Sussex mummies ?

Anyone in the Lancing, Shoreham, Worthing area?
I am a 30 year old working mum.Moved to Sussex in 2000 to go to uni, most people I met moved back home afterwards but I met someone and got married.I have a daughter almost two and some good friends but no one with children and you all know it changes everything. Time, money and energy to go out is hugely decreased and even if you don't want to talk babies, schools, nurseries etc its your life now and childless single friends are on a different planet-or should I say we are!
Anyone near me who is on my wavelength?
please get in touch.

Hi chocolatemummy. Where is the fun junction? Is it the place near worthing? Tues morn would be good IF my kids are all better and back at school.

Novembergirl · 17/03/2006 07:42

Hi Chocolatemummy,

Thank you for your perseverance and for trying so hard to arrange some get togethers for us. I, for one, really enjoyed the last one and I appreciate your efforts.

I was going into the office today, hence the reason I could not make this Friday, but, unfortunately, Samuel has caught a tummy bug and was off nursery yesterday. I thought he might be better today until after breakfast...but won't go into details!

Samuel used to love going swimming and we have not been for ages, so perhaps we could arrange an aquatic meet up next Friday afternoon, or, better still, the morning or afternoon of 7th April? I realise that this does not suit everyone (sorry Janeyhills) but thought it might be a good meet-up to add to any others you arrange.

In terms of location, we could go Littlehampton as I know that you like to use the pool there. Alternatively, the pool at the Arun Leisure centre is supposed to be fantastic for children (it is a regular venue for NCT mums and babies swimming). The centre also has a soft play area, Oscars, which I have been told is better than many others in the area for toddlers. As Arun Leisure Centre is on the east of Bognor, it is only about 5 minutes (by car) further than the Flying Fortress. So possibly worth considering?

Anyway, hope that helps and I look forward to seeing everyone soon.

chocolatemummy · 17/03/2006 17:23

NovemberGirl...
EVERYONE.......
I am happy to arange meetups and I am persevering because I know that most of us really want to do it but its very difficult to get more than two of us at once it seems. We'll get it together though,
I work until 1.30 on fridays hence me not being able to meet really before 2 but I am off all day thursday.
7th april in the afternoon is good for me, but after working all morning and then picking Estelle up I don't really want to drive all the way to Bognor, Littlehampton is about my limit on fri afternoons but maybe we could do Arun on a thurs in the future?

Fun Junction on tuesday morning I will do then even if no one can make it I will be there because I know Estelle will love either way.
It is in Stoke Abbots Road, Worthing town centre opposite the Town Hall and Magistrates Court so you should be able to get directions from most people and it has its own free car park

As I'm the least flexible when it comes to availability and I got to go to the last meet-up, then you guys should go ahead and organise a Thursday meet (that way Janeyhills should get to go). I've heard good things about Oscars at the Arun Leisure Centre, so, might be a good venue for you (do give me a report though)?

Lets put Friday 7th April in the diary for swimming at Littlehampton from, say 2 or 2.30: Chocolatemummy, as you have the farthest to come and you are the organiser, do let us know the best time for you.

Wish I could join you at Fun Junction on Tuesday but will be at work; hope a good crowd goes along though (...go on...don't be shy...you and your little ones will enjoy it...)

farmerted · 18/03/2006 11:26

Hello everyone, Hello Chocolatemummy, thank you for persevering.

I have been out of circulation Sad, have taken on some extra work plus helping out on mum and dads farm, my dad is still not able to work so its very difficult.......so much to do on a farm in the Spring....nightmare! Never seem to have any spare time.

Would really love to make a meet-up soon, Tuesday morning would be difficult but I am free the following Thursday (30th I think) if anyone wants to meet up then?? Chocolatemummy, I hope you and Estelle are well - would be good to see you again - maybe for a drink with Custardo Grin

chocolatemummy · 19/03/2006 15:06

Hi Chocolatemummy, hi other West Sussex mummies,

Sorry I disappeared for a quite while but DS, DH and I have been ill with a horrendous tummy bug and then, if that was not bad enough, I went and caught a viral infection which completely laid me low (so much so, that I've had to have a week off work to try to recuperate).

Am now feeling much better than I did, but I'm afraid that I will not be up to going swimming on Friday as planned. So sorry to let you down Chocolatemummy, but do hope you will understand. I also hope we will be able to meet up again soon.
