West Sussex mummies ?

Anyone in the Lancing, Shoreham, Worthing area?
I am a 30 year old working mum.Moved to Sussex in 2000 to go to uni, most people I met moved back home afterwards but I met someone and got married.I have a daughter almost two and some good friends but no one with children and you all know it changes everything. Time, money and energy to go out is hugely decreased and even if you don't want to talk babies, schools, nurseries etc its your life now and childless single friends are on a different planet-or should I say we are!
Anyone near me who is on my wavelength?
please get in touch.

Hi everyone,

Shall we agree a date and meet up in Litlehampton for swimming followed by the park or vice versa? Friday afternoons would be good for me but I know this might be a problem for Janey and a bit of a rush for Chocolate mummy?

Alternatively, Chocolatemummy, if you are still without transport, shall we come over to Worthing? I've heard Henry House is great for swimming but have never been?

What do you think...?

janeyhills · 26/05/2006 13:28

hi would love to go meet at the park at some point,i'm restricted because ds is at playgroup in the afternoons.he's starting school in september so will be more flexible then.
it won't be long , and they will off for the long summer holidays anyway.
hope everyone is ok :)

chocolatemummy · 29/05/2006 19:51

Hello
I am much better thankyou, I have a courtesy car which i am allowed to drive now too.
Swimming/park either sound fine to me, I can come to Littlehampton in the afternoon or if it had to be a morning then thursday is ok.
Novmebergirl/janeyhills you arange it and I'll be there. My Estelle is geting a little easier to handle these days, (some days) think she is starting to grow up a little

...oh dear, I rather suspect that organising a get together for all three of us, in term time, will be problematical!

So, as it would be good before the summer hols, can I suggest a Thursday morning meet-up - which should suit Janeyhills and Chocolatemummy - and a Friday afternoon meet(I vote for swimming) - which suit suit Chocolatemummy and me. Hopefully, some other West Sussex mummies will also want to join us and increase the numbers.

I will now have a look at my diary and come back with a proposed date for the Friday meet-up...

chocolatemummy · 01/06/2006 17:49

okay, we have tried to get all three of us together for months! best to just do what we can.
how is Yapton anyway Novembergirl? how is Sam too?

janeyhills · 14/06/2006 09:57

hello,does anyone look here anymore???

Tortington · 14/06/2006 10:45

i am always forever hopeful however you lot do insist on bringing children and not drinking which does take the edge off rather.

Straightforward · 15/06/2006 10:56

I look too but am heavily pregnant and never seem to be able to do the times you guys can! Still here in spirit though... (would also like to drink and leave children behind, but unfortunately can do neither at the mo Sad - give me a couple of months and things will be different! Wink)

tallmummy · 15/06/2006 11:02

Hi I'm still about and might be up for some swimming.

chocolatemummy · 15/06/2006 17:23

Was hoping that if i left the arangements to someone else it might be more successful, even if not for me but others?

anyway, if anyone is free and wants to do anything on a thursday 1 'o clock onwards?
or friday 2 o'clock onwards?

chocolatemummy · 03/07/2006 19:06

ahh, janeyhills, you and I have tried so hard to keep this thread going

I have gone back to the Brighton one now.and we are all meeting up (adults only) on july 16th in brighton. of course i'd still love to meet up with kiddies and make some local friends but just seemed impossible?

oh, and, I am not coping in the heat, I'm melting! lol

Oh dear - sorry I haven't helped to keep this thread going . Cant believe how hard it is to get a minute to yourself. Have been overwhelmed with work/lack of childcare etc etc- now I have decided to go part time I finally get a place at nursery! Does Estelle still go to Boundstone Chocolatemummy? It would be lovely to see you both again...sorry to read about your accident.

If anyone fancies a meet up I can make Tuesday/Thursday am/lunchtime or maybe a trip to the beach later in the day (I often go down for a picnic). Hope somebody is still out there, it would be lovely to meet some more locals before the summer ends!

chocolatemummy · 06/07/2006 16:33

farmerted, estelle is still at boundstone, mon and tues 11.30-4.30, she is very happy there.

I am joinng the brighton lot on their 'no kids' meet up on sunday july 16th if you fancy coming to that? heavn't met any of them yet but been chatting with them, think it should be a laugh. as no one in here really I gave up.

Edie goes to nursery Tues and Thurs in the afternoons so at least our girls have managed to meet up again! Will you be going to the Boundstone picnic CM? Unfortunately I am in London on the 16th - would have loved to have gone to the Brighton meet up.....hopefully next time, have a drink or three for me.

chocolatemummy · 10/07/2006 18:03

hi
does anyone fancy meeting at mewsbrook park littlehampton on friday 28th july?
i don't mind what time the kids will have finished school so i am flexible.
let me know so i'm not there on my own.

farmerted · 19/07/2006 13:43

Hi all, Janey - sorry I can't make Fridays at the mo - free on Tues and Thurs am - are you ever available then??

Choccie - if you read this are you around Thurs am for a local coffee or something? Read about your job - so sorry , must be V stressful, ive been made redundant a couple of times and that was bad enough 'though in the end it just forced me to move on and do something better - hopefully you will find the same.

chocolatemummy · 19/07/2006 18:11

farmerted
I am free thursday afternoon, Estelle will be at the childminders til about 4 though depends if you mean with or without babes?
Thanks for kind words about my job.I am having a bit of a career rethink, because I am a bit burned out with Social services. Not sure where to go from here though need to get my head around the idea of not having a job first.

Janeyhills, don't know where that is, can you meet up anywhere a bit closer to Worthing, what about the Aquarena paddling pool?

OP posts:
farmerted · 19/07/2006 22:36

Hi CM - dont mind either way. AM before 12 with dd, pm after 2.30 without.....until 6 when I pick up from nursery. Only prob is that there is nowhere decent to go around here!
