West Sussex mummies ?

Anyone in the Lancing, Shoreham, Worthing area?
I am a 30 year old working mum.Moved to Sussex in 2000 to go to uni, most people I met moved back home afterwards but I met someone and got married.I have a daughter almost two and some good friends but no one with children and you all know it changes everything. Time, money and energy to go out is hugely decreased and even if you don't want to talk babies, schools, nurseries etc its your life now and childless single friends are on a different planet-or should I say we are!
Anyone near me who is on my wavelength?
please get in touch.

Hi LittlePickle and Emelie, sounds like we could have a Chichester meet-up soon. The ages of the children are good too. I'm Tracey by the way and my daughters are Emily (3.5) and Charlotte (9 months).

As I am new to the area, I tend to stay closer to home, also the hassle of getting little coats on and off, kids in and out of the car can be a little waring sometimes. Perhaps when the warmer weather comes I will try some of these meet-ups further afield.

Have fun tomorrow. Fying Fortress is one of the places we have yet to try, sounds good though.

Straightforward · 24/02/2006 10:26

Hi everyone - looking forward to meeting you in RL later today at the FLying Fortress.

I'll be there with my dd who's 3.5. Anyone else going with similar aged child(ren)?

Novembergirl · 24/02/2006 10:41

We hope to be there too. DS is 13 months old so a bit too young to play with your DD, I'm afraid, Straightforward. Any other very young ones going today?

janeyhills · 25/02/2006 10:03

HOW DID THE MEETING GO AT FLYING FORTRESS YESTERDAY?

janeyhills · 25/02/2006 13:07

anybody else feeling as miserable and fed as me not sure why but i feel really down today

littlepickle · 25/02/2006 21:57

Hello Janeyhills

Sorry youve been feeling down today. Sometimes it just get likes that and sort of creeps up when you think youve got it all sussed ! I think you just have to remember that it will pass and youll feel good again soon.

where abouts are you, Im in Chichester, hoping to meet up with some local MNs soon. Couldnt make the flying fortress meet on Friday, had to see a plumber, felt a bit worn out myself, I mean what a horrible cold wet week we had had up to that point !
Hope you feel better soon x

janeyhills · 27/02/2006 08:41

thanks littlepickle,
i'm ok now just had a bit of an off day.
did anyone go to the flying fortress meet up?
did everyone have a good weekend?

Straightforward · 27/02/2006 10:36

Hello girls

I went to the Flying Fortress on Friday (ooh what lovely alliteration!!) and met up with chocolatemummy and novembergirl - it was just the 3 of us in the end, but it was good to meet up, and a great venue.

Funny thing was that I went, dreading being on my own all afternoon, and then met up with two other lots of people that I know, so it turned into quite a social event! Was good for dd too, as she had someone else her age to play with.

Let's do some more!

Hope you're feeling happier today, janeyhills. It'll soon be the end of February and March is almost spring...

chocolatemummy · 27/02/2006 17:41

Hello all
Nice to meet Straightforward and November girl on friday.
Anyone interested in that meal out and a drink?

As far as the next meet up with kids is concerned, well it can be Fun Junction in Worthing this time? either a thursday or friday afternoon?
or Mighty Mites in Lancing on a tuesday or thursday morning?

Janeyhills lets try and do one that you can make it to this time! Why dont you say when you can make it out of the above times and venues and the rest of us can try and be there?
The three girls i have met so far have all been really nice and am confident we could have a really nice group going between us here xx

I can do a FUn Junction meet either of those afternoons. I have a voucher for 4 kids to go in free too, if that's any help!

Could do the Lancing one too.

Evenings are slightly more tricky but not impossible - would be good to be child-free too!

Straightforward · 27/02/2006 20:57

Actually, strike that - can't do mornings, so can't do Lancing.

Emelie · 28/02/2006 08:26

hi cheese and ham. and all others sorry didnt make it to the meet was day off! great thing about giving the children back to their parents! will have to do a chi meet up! where abouts in chi are you? im in westergate, but can easily get to most places.

Hello all,

Sorry, I have been out of circulation - have been helping out on the family farm as my dad is ill, dragging DD around the fields in all weathers poor thing. Next tues morning at Fun Junction would be good for me....how about you janeyhills? Anyone else? What about 10 - 10.30?

Novembergirl · 02/03/2006 11:12

Hi everyone, unfortunately I work on Tuesday morning so will not be able to join you next week.

I enjoyed meeting Chocolatemummy and Straightforward last week, and DS seemed to enjoy himself, so I'm sure the Fun Junction meet up will go well. Hopefully, I will be able to make it another time...

Bye for now

littlepickle · 03/03/2006 20:06

Hi

CheeseandHam, are you still on for a meet up at Adventure Warehouse on Monday morning ? I am still planning to be there, say about 10am ?
Anyone else, I think Em said she fancied meeting up in Chichester :)

CheeseandHam · 03/03/2006 21:47

Dear all, sorry that I have not been keeping up with the thread. Sounds like there could be a few potential meet-ups in the pipeline. Little pickle, yes we are still looking forward to meeting you both at the Adventure Warehouse, 10 sounds fine, I mentioned it to another girl who contacted me through netmums...confusing as the names of the two sites are so close. Anyway my eldest has rather red hair so you can't miss us. See you there, and anyone else who fancies the company.Grin
