West Sussex mummies ?

Anyone in the Lancing, Shoreham, Worthing area?
I am a 30 year old working mum.Moved to Sussex in 2000 to go to uni, most people I met moved back home afterwards but I met someone and got married.I have a daughter almost two and some good friends but no one with children and you all know it changes everything. Time, money and energy to go out is hugely decreased and even if you don't want to talk babies, schools, nurseries etc its your life now and childless single friends are on a different planet-or should I say we are!
Anyone near me who is on my wavelength?
please get in touch.

I will join this thread now, I'm a registered childminder & I live in Horsham, my two dd's are aged 12 & nearly 9, & consider myself young in heart if not in age!

i have 3 girls they are 15,14 and 10 and 2 boys 4 and 11 months.
i live in east preston which is quite near littlehampton.i moved down here 5 years ago from sidcup in kent, but have found it very hard to make friends.i've met a couple of people from the netmums website.

Emelie · 25/01/2006 14:55

what diff in ages..... as long as the older ones dont mind the babies!!!

its strange moving, my b/f lives in southampton but not the same as having local friends.

my 3 girls are from my 1st marriage, i remarried and had the 2 boys , my new husband had 1 child from his 1st marriage .we wanted to have children together, i guess i wouldn't have had any more if i'd stayed with my 1st husband.
my older girls are great with the little ones.

Emelie · 25/01/2006 17:16

i bet, when i was younger i would have loved little brothers or sisters, but as im adopted this wanst an option, instead i babysat, then became a nursrey nurse/nanny when i was 18!

janeyhills · 26/01/2006 13:37

i can't wait for the nicer weather too,i find january so depressing!
jordan goes to playgroup every afternoon,he starts school full time in sept,i've just started taking andrew(11 months) to caterpillar music,it's nice for just the 2 of us to do something together.i only have to focus on him, and with a large family i think it's important that we spend quality time together even if it is 45 mins.

Emelie · 26/01/2006 14:52

i know what u mean now thta saffie is at school 3 mornings a week, finn who is just one is able to ahve me time!!!

Tortington · 28/01/2006 02:02

any of you though of going to the brigthon meet ups? we meet fairly reguarly. am thinking of trying to get one up for april whad do you think?

chocolatemummy · 28/01/2006 11:00

yep 24th feb,sorry!
Well, I started the thread about 2 months ago and I live in Lancing/Sompting. We are all over the place in West Sussex- Steyning, Lancing, Worthing, Chichester, Arundel, now Goring and East Preston
none of us have met before as we had to cancel last planned meet up because most of us had other things going on. But 24th feb should be a good one, at this rate we'll have loads of us which is great.
I finish work at 1 so will come straight from work and I guess we will need to work a way of recognising eachother because you get lots of groups of mums there. any one any ideas? putting something on the table?

My little one is a handful, she is 26 months old now and in to everything, can't sit still. Hopefuly between us we'll have a good mix of girls/boys.
