I know we've tried to sort something before and we're all very anti-social but the summer hols are on their way, so how about trying to arrange a meet up for August sometime?

We could have a picnic in Oswestry or Telford park, if we want to do it on the cheap? Or maybe go further afield and spend the day at Chester Zoo or somewhere? Or even soft play? There's a nice new(ish) one in Os, or Wrexham have a big one as well.

Come onnnn! Humour me!

pirateparty · 12/08/2010 21:42

Pranma There is parking for the quarry either at St Chad's Church or near Rowley's House - both are very close to the quarry.

Drive over English Bridge, and instead of going right up Wyle Cop, vear left up Beeches Lane. This turns into Town Walls then into St Chad's Terrace. Along St Chad's terrace on the right is St Chad's Church which has a car park in front of it. A man notes down your car reg and you pay when you get back.

If there aren't spaces there, or you miss it, carry on along the street as it goes down the hill - now called Claremont Bank. At the bottom is a set of traffic lights. Turn right onto Bridge Street and there is a car park on your left and a car pak on your right. Both are pay and display. From either one it's a quick walk across to the Quarry - see here

MrsMeow · 12/08/2010 21:48

Oh thats a shame Portblack :( hopefully we'll all get on well enough to want to meet up again though! Although, if you ever feel up to an Os mini meet, just give me a shout :)

I may attend...depending on how much of my OU assignment I've got written seeing as it's due on Friday. Should probably start on it rather than post on here Grin

DD is 5 months :)

MrsMeow · 16/08/2010 16:48

We'll be bringing a picnic, have spent enough on eating out over the weekend!

Just checked the weather again, it looks like it's going to be ok. It would be good if it was as nice as it is today :)

bullet234 · 16/08/2010 17:16

TheLadyOfTheGreenKirtle · 16/08/2010 17:20

pranma · 17/08/2010 12:03

I wont be coming after all.I went to the gp this morning and she found a 'thickening' in my right breast.I had breast cancer 4 years ago and am so afraid that it is back.It will be next week before I can have it checked but I dont feel up to socialising just now.Have a wonderful time all of you.

TheLadyOfTheGreenKirtle · 17/08/2010 12:05

oh no pranma. im so, so sorry. sending you some very un-mn hugs and wishing you the best. hopefully you will feel up to it soon.

MrsMeow · 17/08/2010 16:03

Oh pranma, what a worry for you :( I really hope it's just something & nothing, but I understand how worried you will be.

If you decide that you'd like some company, please come. I'll be thinking of you.

pirateparty · 17/08/2010 22:00

Oh pranma, I'm sorry to hear that. I really hope it's all ok. Big un-MN hug from here too.

DancingThroughLife · 18/08/2010 15:44

Pranma, hope it goes ok next week. Thinking of you.

Can I just check, are we meeting at the Quarry or the train station? I'll have a big green pushchair if anyone spots me looking confused.

MrsMeow · 18/08/2010 15:47

Pranma, how are you feeling today? A bit more upbeat I hope?

DancingThroughLife - I think a few of us are meeting at the train station at 11.30am - outside by the taxi bit I think?

I've just been and bought our train tickets and some picnic bits. DS has decided that he wanted to go to work with DH though, and they won't be back until Friday so it will just be DD (10)& I tomorrow. I hope this is ok with everyone?

Looking forward to it now! Weather looks ok too :)

pranma · 18/08/2010 18:05

I do hope it goes well for you all.My dh spoke to doc this am and she said she was 98% sure it was ok but with my history that 2% had to be checked.
Have a wonderful time tomorrow.

pirateparty · 18/08/2010 19:01

I can't come! Work have 'asked' me to go in... I will hopefully finish about 2pm so if I can get myself and ds organised I will wander down to the quarry and if I see a likely looking group I will come over and say hello (and really hope it is you all!)
