Hi all so after putting on 2stone in last 3 years am now in the overweight category with bmi over 28. Having found no motivation but getting more and more fed up with myself, I've taken the plunge after reading loads of reviews about exante have brought myself the 2 week box, its coming tomorrow so fingers crossed I can stick to it!
Anyone else starting it or currently doing it?
Posting here to hold myself accountable!

Forget your fishfingers sandwich! Try a lo dough pizza base as a wrap, filled with salad, egg and crab sticks. Drizzled with a splash of balsamic vinegar. 150 calories! Keep it up everybody, it only takes 3 weeks to develop new habits

Exante
Kittensgalore · 19/01/2021 23:55

Oh my word @GarytheRedNosedUnicorn that looks amazing... I'm off to
Order some of those bases. Yum. My stomach just did a rumble that sounded like a baby lion.
I've got the low carb rolls, totally recommend them too but not tried the lo dough bases- yet!

Kittensgalore · 20/01/2021 09:11

Morning all, how is everyone feeling today? I've got more energy the last few days than usual. I'm a total sloth usually so this is good. Ordered some lo dough bases last night after seeing your amazing wrap @GarytheRedNosedUnicorn ( I love a crab stick too so going to have get some of those too!) along with some fake angel delights which is my favourite pack at the moment. I'm definitely more in the zone than I have been for a long time. Alcohol is my downfall but I've now been AF for 9 whole days which for me is a feat.
Hope everyone is doing ok.

Brademajo · 20/01/2021 09:36

Good Morning everyone! Isn't it incredible the meals you can create which are fresh and tasty - and 1/2 the calories of one mincepie!? I feel like we are a little team who are all very much in the zone :)
Reading everyones posts spurs me on too @Weston14
I know the pandemic is dreadful (but) i'm normally scuppered in a diet because there will be a party, or meal for someone leaving work etc - all these occasions where people wont accept that your on a diet - 'oh you dont need to lose weight - have a cake' or alcohol weakening the reserve.
We will emerge like butterflies when it all opens up again!

Weston14 · 20/01/2021 09:59

I so agree @Brademajo I was having a little whinge to a friend yesterday because I was feeling very light headed and lethargic and she said “well you’re not going anywhere so if you were just sat in eating junk food all it would mean is you’d feel crap about yourself come the end of lockdown when you’ll be seeing people (hopefully)” which is so true. Gave me a little bit of a boost

I’m another 1.25lbs today so I’m officially over a stone 😁😁. 15lbs in about 8 days Can’t believe it☺️☺️

Brademajo · 20/01/2021 10:33

@weston14 - that's fantastic! Remind me how much you want to lose? [no wonder you felt light headed - thats alot of weight in short time]

Weston14 · 20/01/2021 10:51

@Brademajo 2 stone would be good, 3 would be better. I might try and get to two/two and a half stone and then just eat like a saint for a bit til for the final stretch 😇

Kittykat93 · 20/01/2021 16:12

Sorry to piss on everyone's bonfire is...but losing 15lbs in 8 days..do you guys really think that's healthy?? That's nearly 2lbs a day!! Your bodies are starving..you've all got headaches, constipation, griping pains, wind, feeling cold etc.

I know how it feels to be desperate to lose weight as I at the moment am calorie counting (sometimes failing!)but there are much healthier ways of doing it than this...and yes although it might be amazing seeing the scales go down you'll probably find a lot of the weight goes back on on when you actually start eating food.

Sorry I know I sound awful and a right cowbag, but its worrying to read about people being excited about losing a stone in two weeks..that's a ridiculous amount to lose in such a short space of time.

Brademajo · 20/01/2021 17:09

Hi @Kittykat93 whenever you change your diet to one of very low carbs/calories there is naturally (i mean naturally) going to be a change in the body 'functions' like headaches / bloated etc - like going cold turkey.
Sometimes its necessary to take more drastic actions to get back into a much better rhythmn. If you read more of the posts people are adding low calorie (and healthy meals) and that is where we all want to ultimately get to.
I'm afraid you are sounding like a right cowbag as you put it - quite aggressive actually.
If Exante diet is working for folks then please dont knock it
I reached out to the posters for support (which I have been getting) not a lecture or to be ridiculed.

Kittensgalore · 20/01/2021 17:31

Yes completely agree @Brademajo. No need for any piss on this bonfire as you so eloquently put it @Kittykat93.
I can barely be bothered to reply to be honest, too light headed from my starvation but perhaps before posting you might want to be better informed. Exante is now being prescribed via GP referral. It is making an amazing impact reversing type 2 diabetes for many, many people. It's not for everyone but as with many things it will work for some. This is a supportive thread no call for any input from any self proclaimed cowboys.

Kittensgalore · 20/01/2021 17:32

Or cowbags Grin

Kittensgalore · 20/01/2021 17:36

What's everyone having for tea? I'm contemplating a stir fry with quorn pieces I think. Maybe with some bare naked noddles or rice. Have had a Indian Dahl pot and butterscotch delight earlier but really looking forward to the stir fry.

LordOfTheOnionRings · 20/01/2021 17:48

I am on day one of exante! I am 21 stone and a size 22 and need a little kick up the ass, I am the biggest I have ever been, it's actually shocking writing down how much I weigh.

A bit embarrassing but I have had a lot of wind today :D is that normal?!

Kittykat93 · 20/01/2021 17:57

How rude! My post wasnt nasty at all..more concerned that you think losing a stone in 2 weeks is healthy. But fuck it, you crack on!

Weston14 · 20/01/2021 18:10

@Kittykat93 I appreciate your concern for me as another grown adult who you have never met before in your life but I really don't need it. Crash dieting in the long run is not a great/healthy/sustainable way of losing weight but in the way it is intended as prescribed by GPs - to offload a vast quantity of weight quickly and kickstart a healthier lifestyle. Many people here and elsewhere are either continuing to eat food alongside exante or have moved successfully from just the packs for a short space of time back into regular eating. If this time next year i have piled it all back on you'll be the first to know seeing as you're so concerned Halo

Kittensgalore · 20/01/2021 18:21

@Kittykat93 I think you will find that the one person who has been rude on this thread (that has been going since October last year) has been you.

@LordOfTheOnionRings well done on almost getting through day one! The wind is normal. If you are on the Exante Facebook page you will find lots of horror stories where what was thought to be wind was actually the real thing. This has never happened to me I hasten to add! I think it is just another side effect of your body adjusting so hopefully won't last!

Brademajo · 20/01/2021 18:24

Hi @LordOfTheOnionRings - This thread is basically anonymous - we are all in running the same race so to speak - just starting and finishing lines are different! if you scroll through the various posts I think everyone has had some kind of side effect (not so pleasant!) accompanying the weight loss. This thread helps to share the experiences - day 1 almost done!

Brademajo · 20/01/2021 18:30

@Kittensgalore - Pasta Carbonara for my tea! :)

par05 · 20/01/2021 19:49

This thread has been such a support to me and yep we have all had side affects, which I think you would get with any diet you start, and it passes. I feel so much better with way more energy. And everyone has done fab here, and I think as another poster pointed out this diet can help reverse diabetes and low carb is available on nhs now aswell.
I've had a stuffed garlic mushroom with a bit of cottage cheese for my supper today which was lovely.
My exante order has come today too so whoop!

Weston14 · 20/01/2021 20:44

I had a sausage and vegetable (no carbs!!) tray bake for dinner. Delicious but the bout of Covid I had 3 months ago has randomly made tomatoes and peppers taste soapy..... and guess what was in the tray bake Envy (not envy). Been told by others could take 6 months to 2 years for things to get back to normal..... what better time to diet!!! Grin

Weston14 · 21/01/2021 11:26

How are we all doing today guys? No change for me overnight in loss so I think my days of 2lb a day may be behind me. That's fine, not too bothered about that and have committed to weighing myself once a week on a Monday morning, starting next Monday, to avoid disappointment!

My hunger seems to have just gone! I want to stick to my little routine so I'm currently forcing down a shake but I don't particularly want it.

GarytheRedNosedUnicorn · 21/01/2021 12:19

Another 1/4 lb down this morning, but hey that’s 1lb in total this week. I am on the dreaded 3rd week though, and always get this. I am 1.5 lbs away from losing a stone, since 4 Jan, so really pleased with results so far. Almost neck and neck with my husband for results which suprised me as men normally lose quicker. He has a pound to go before his stone! Keep with it everybody, it really is worth it. It’s the little things; finding your clothes are that little bit more comfy, it’s not such an effort to move, not feeling sluggish from eating too much of the wrong thing.

Kittensgalore · 21/01/2021 17:17

You all sound like you are doing so well. I definitely get disheartened by the scales not moving so have decided not to weigh at all until I am substantially smaller! I've had a crazy busy day and have another virtual meeting early evening as well so only had one pack so far and a couple of baby bells. Not feeling very motivated to have anything else but I know I have to. Also feeling v bloated today and just yuck really. Hopefully tomorrow will be better. V glad I've found you all.

Brademajo · 21/01/2021 17:52

@Kittensgalore have you got a salted caramel shake? - thats like a total treat for me - whatever you do stay strong and you will be so proud of yourself :)

Keep looking forward to tomorrow!

@LordOfTheOnionRings - how are you today?

EachandEveryone · 21/01/2021 17:56

I need to restart this I’ve got a whole box of it. Do you think it matters if it’s out of date?
