Hi all so after putting on 2stone in last 3 years am now in the overweight category with bmi over 28. Having found no motivation but getting more and more fed up with myself, I've taken the plunge after reading loads of reviews about exante have brought myself the 2 week box, its coming tomorrow so fingers crossed I can stick to it!
Anyone else starting it or currently doing it?

@Brademajo brilliant idea! Let's all check back on 8th March and see where we are at. I hope by then to be able to zip up my coat. If I can do that comfortably by then I will be well pleased!

Weston14 · 29/01/2021 10:28

@Brademajo that really puts into perspective how brilliantly everyone has done, proud of you all folks Grin

I'm hoping to lose about 40-45 lbs (three-and-a-bit stone, basically). Nearly halfway there and I'm less than a month in Grin ..that said hasn't it been the longest month EVER ??

par05 · 29/01/2021 19:19

@Brademajo that's brilliant I like that and fab idea, March the 8th! And @Kittensgalore I'm the same with my jacket so hoping to zip it up too. @weston14 you have done amazing! Happy weekend everyone 🤗

This little group has been very supportive to me and I thank all of you :) for sharing how you are getting on, how you are feeling and low carb/calorie meals xx

Weston14 · 30/01/2021 09:46

@Brademajo that is amazing!! You should be very proud of yourself

LordOfTheOnionRings · 30/01/2021 10:39

@Brademajo well done!!! That's amazing. How is everyone doing?

I took the plunge and weighed myself today, I've been in binge mode since returning back to work and in that time (six months) I have gained 20 fucking KGs. 20!!!!!!! Honestly I could cry. When I say binge I mean binge.

The good thing is that I can now hopefully track if I'm losing weight or not. I certainly feel much better not being so full and bloated. Just a bit upset that I was really doing well and relatively healthy and a bit of stress comes along and I'm balls deep into my third McDonald's of the day.

What's all of your ways of being accountable for your choices? Weird question but sometimes I don't even think about what or the amount I'm eating until it's already over and then I'm just like...why

Weston14 · 30/01/2021 11:26

@LordOfTheOnionRings the money definitely. I work long hours which can go one of two ways ... forgetting to eat for 36 hrs or ordering takeaway to the office / to the house when i'm working from home. Recently the uber eats bill was creepng up so decided enough was enough.

Brademajo · 30/01/2021 12:06

My 'inspiration' for want of a better word is taking 5 secs before plunging into that cheese / chocolate / icecream is asking myself - do you REALLY want this xyz..or do you REALLY want to be slim / feeling gorgeous in my clothes

At the moment my motivation is really strong and I am DETERMINED to get to the weight / size I want.

I know its desperately hard but each time you make the right choice - ie don't eat xyz then you are one step closer. Its just a case of taking these steps and you will reach the place you want to be at, If you dont make the steps then you simply wont get there.
From our results - you can see that 3-4-5 weeks and thats a stone (not that long in the great scheme of things) a few months (only months) and you will be there.
If you dont make the choices then nothing changes :(

Writing this is reminding me aswell to keep going!!!

Personally money isnt my motivation its a determination to change :)

Brademajo · 30/01/2021 12:19

just to add, when things go crap or stressful at work, I do slightly congratulate myself after the situation ie going to bed that night that although shit was thrown at me (metaphorically speaking!) I didnt sabotage myself.

@LordOfTheOnionRings Im totally gutted for you that you've put the weight on but you have to let that go now and sounds like you are fired up to track and weigh - put your battle armour on and fight!

if you get stressed tempted - then post a message and a little support may give you that extra strength :)

Kittensgalore · 30/01/2021 13:24

@Brademajo that's awesome, virtually a whole stone. Well done!!! I'm reckoning on around a stone a month if I can stick to it so good to know that's what you've achieved.
@LordOfTheOnionRings amazing that you weighed. I was thinking about this last night, about how I need to find my brave part and just do it! You are my inspiration now. I will need to order some and my old ones broke. So don't actually have any in the house. But might get some at least so the option is there if I want to.

I'm finding calorie & carb counting is keeping me on track and accountable. I'd forgotten how many empty calories are in so many things. And the whole wanting to feel good again in clothes is a massive incentive. I used to love clothes. Nothing expensive but quirky/second hand vintage type stuff. Last year or so I've turned into the epitome of some one who has 'let themselves go' . Just sick of wearing huge baggy clothes and tying to hope no one notices me.
I did go off plan last night but back on today and I do think occasional cheat days or whatever actually help with this plan. Good to up your calories sometimesSmile

Happy Saturday you lovely lot.

GaryUnicorn · 30/01/2021 15:05

26 days in and the total loss so far...............

1 stone and four ounces!

It will probably go up tomorrow as Sunday is a cheat day for DH and I.
When I say ‘cheat’ nothing as exciting as a takeaway or carb laden treats. I just roast up a tray of Brussells, peppers, courgettes or other veg and have them with some protein. Tomorrow we have some bacon, which will be grilled. The whole meal is probably no more than 5-600 calories, but it is nice to have a change in texture and some roughage. It’s motivating to have something to look forward to! DH has lost 1 stone. 2. It is his birthday on 19 th Feb, so we will have a complete day off with no calorie counting, and back on the plan the next day. It is my birthday on 7th March, so ditto! You need to consume an extra 3500 calories to gain a pound of fat, so as long as we are strict on the days either side we should be ok.

@Brademajo that is a great loss.

@LordOfTheOnionRings don’t look behind you, you’re not going that way. Just look forward. Keep 8 March in Mind, when other people will see you.

@Kittensgalore, keep going. Try to pluck up courage to weigh, it may motivate you. Tell us, we won’t judge. I was way over 23 stone once.

Do any of you have the app Carbsand Cals? I think it costs a couple of pounds, but it downloads to your phone. It is so comprehensive, and includes brand names and takeaways, and shows you photos of portion sizes. It is the modern equivalent of ‘Your Greatest Guide to Calories’ if anyone remembers that. You just click on a meal, say lunch and put an item like Courgette in and it shows you different portion sizes and corresponding carbs and Cals. Once you have installed it you don’t have to be online to use it. I used it on holiday when my mobile data was switched off. It is really interesting to see carbs in different foods, and fab when you can’t be arsed to get the scales out!

Good luck everyone, and keep going. Sorry for the ramble; it’s stopping me from snacking! Btw, GaryRednoseunicorn was my Christmas MN name. I am one and the same!

@GaryUnicorn well done that's such a good result. Enjoy your meal today sounds lovely. I think I'm going to have some chicken and veg later too. Just had an omelette so might just have one pack and then another proper meal later on.
Think I will order some scales. Plan is to weigh on 8th Feb so I can then weigh in again on 8th March with all of you!
Mushroom & lean protein cheese omelette, 173 Cals. Lovely.

Morning all - I hope we are all feeling focussed and on track.
Just looking at the calendar and basically it is 5 weeks to March 8th. Personally if I can get close to having lost 2 stone in total I will be ecstatic.
5 weeks - hopefully if we keep on track that will equate to a stone for each of us :) :)

LordOfTheOnionRings · 31/01/2021 16:56

Hey @Brademajo! Glad you're feeling motivated. If you get to 2 stone by March that will be amazing! I think it's doable?? I have introduced some exercise on top of the diet this week. Don't know how much I lost last week but I'm feeling much less bloated and more energetic already! Hopefully I'll see a nice loss this week. @Kittensgalore that looks lovely.

Weston14 · 01/02/2021 12:00

Morning all, down to 206lb this morning Smile Motivated to carry on and it feels like the end goal is in sight now....

GaryUnicorn · 01/02/2021 13:20

Put on 1lb this morning, but totally prepared for that. There is still a shed load of veg in me, and the associated water that is processing it! It will be off, and more in a couple of days. Was the same for DH too! All those vegetables were delicious, and well worth the temporary rise!
New month - new energy! Keep going everybody look towards that 8th March target. Not long to go, warmer weather hopefully!

LordOfTheOnionRings · 01/02/2021 16:16

@Weston14 well done! Nearly at that 200 barrier!

Brademajo · 01/02/2021 16:19

Hey everyone :)
@LordOfTheOnionRings and @Weston14 - sound like you are in the zone!
As I waited 4 weeks to weigh, and March 8th is 5 weeks away, I'm going to weigh again in 3 weeks, then 2 weeks (that will be March 8th) and then weekly then on. I'm a Capricorn and we like to plan!
@GaryUnicorn as long as you are making healthy choices some fluctuation wont matter :) - looks delicious! Can I come to your house for tea!?!!

I ordered a load of stuff from Exante to last the 5 weeks..included was the 'Birthday Treat bundle' which includes some bars, shakes and bursts - I had the tropical burst and it really felt like a burst of energy! - I had just come back from a long walk (10,000 in one hit!) and was flagging.
Also was include was some toffee drops which I'm looking forward to adding to coffee for a little treat :) - anyone tried these?
I bought some banana bread bars - they are ok - like dark chocolate over chewy slightly bananary cake - not patch on salted caramel bars but nice enough for a change :)

LordOfTheOnionRings · 01/02/2021 16:51

@Brademajo the toffee drops are delicious. I have about eight drops in a large coffee mug and they really hit the spot if I am craving something sweet. I think your weighing schedule sounds good! What do you hope to lose in these three weeks?

Have you tried anymore of the bursts? I got a free tropical satchet but it's not for me - the cherry one looks nice though but don't want to waste my money if it's not great.

par05 · 01/02/2021 20:43

You guys are all doing amazing! Hoping to get remotivated! I do get motivated but then unmotivated on weekends lol, march is a good goal hoping to be 7lbs lighter by then 😊

OP posts:
LordOfTheOnionRings · 02/02/2021 07:32

So I weighed myself this morning and it's three days since I originally weighed and I have already lost 3lb! Amazing

Brademajo · 02/02/2021 09:21

@LordOfTheOnionRings - such a great feeling - love it! :)

@par05 My husband says that I need to transition to a 5:2 so keep to the diet in the week and enjoy the weekends with him. I do want to get to that but he is a terrible saboteur and sees that I am down a stone (roughly) and that is enough but I'm only half way through to get to where I want to be and if I start transitioning to 5:2 I know it will become 4:3, followed by 3:4...you get the picture!
7lbs is in touching distance of the goal isnt it? and I think you feel like you are almost there so should be easy, but what if you told yourself I need/want to lose 10bs (seems much more challenging) by March 8th? that might make you feel a bit more motivated as more of a challenge? that way you should def hit the 7lb and not be disappointed?
Disappointment in weight loss leads me to think 'oh whats the point?' and I instantly crave the unhealthy quickfix food and then feel worse - but if you go for 10lbs then achieving 7 would be like under promising and over achieving?

Keep going everyone - we've all lost weight and that is a much better place than where we were :) :)
