Hi all so after putting on 2stone in last 3 years am now in the overweight category with bmi over 28. Having found no motivation but getting more and more fed up with myself, I've taken the plunge after reading loads of reviews about exante have brought myself the 2 week box, its coming tomorrow so fingers crossed I can stick to it!
Anyone else starting it or currently doing it?

Day six for me and I fluffed it! I made my son some cheese and ham pinwheels and before I even knew what happened I had eaten one. So annoyed at myself. Ordered some of the lo pizza dough and in going to copy @GaryUnicorn as it looks delicious. I luckily have a home bargains a ten minute walk away so I shall have a visit for the skinny sauces!

par05 · 26/01/2021 18:32

@LordOfTheOnionRings cheese and ham is fine as protein I think? @weston14 love maoms!

Stayed the same this morning so as a result went off the rails. A bit of extra meat, an extra bar, and some cheese, and some peppers I Probably not more than 5-600 hundred calories extra. From Monday I am going to do just products, 3 of them. Just to give me a boost! I have lost just under a stone in 3 weeks so not disappointed, it just annoyed me staying the same. I’m back on it tomorrow!

Weston14 · 26/01/2021 19:44

@LordOfTheOnionRings didn't know what a pinwheel was and just checked - does contain pastry but i'm sure you'll be fine. I think too much stock is put on the whole ketosis thing actually. Being in ketosis doesn't make you lose any more weight and not being in ketosis doesn't make you lose any less. If you are in a calorie deficit you will lose weight! I had a soup with tomatoes in last week as I said earlier and still managed to lose over 3 lbs that week Smile

par05 · 26/01/2021 19:45

@GaryUnicorn sometimes they do say to have a cheat day to up your calories and give you a bit of a boost, I've been the same since after xmas, and do have cheat days but then am back on it.

How is everyone doing today?

Brademajo · 27/01/2021 12:28

hi @LordOfTheOnionRings - all good. Just had my salted caramel bar washed down with a cup of tea - yum!

Have you increased your water intake? You've reminded me so Ive just poured a glass to have in about 10 mins

Kittensgalore · 27/01/2021 12:42

I'm definitely noticing a difference today. Will be three weeks on Monday and my stomach has certainly deflated slightly. Looking more like 4-5 months pregnant rather than just about to give birth 😂. So still a long way to go but good to be able to notice a difference.

Just had a lo-dough wrap with melted lean protein cheese, gherkin & slim and save burger mix. Delicious.

Hope everyone is having a good day. My boiler had died yesterday so house was freezing and I'm cold anyway so really not good. But engineer managed to do a temp fix so have heat again and for that I am very thankful!

Went to BM stores yesterday for the skinny sauces but they didn't have any. Very disappointing. Although still managed to come out with plenty of other 'essentials'!

Weston14 · 27/01/2021 19:50

I’m well thanks, hope everyone else is too. Must admit I had a bit of a cheat day today, went for walk with a friend and we stopped at a new healthy takeaway place so had a burrito bowl. Minimal carbs (just a bit of rice) mainly meat and salad so just not having any packs today and back on the wagon tomorrow :)

GaryUnicorn · 27/01/2021 19:52

Still stayed the same, but stuck to the plan today. Had a porridge and a bar today, then a lo dough pizza. May have a shake in a mo. Keep going everybody. We have till at least 8th March before we can meet up with friends. I think another stone is realistic between now and then! Good luck everybody!

Kittensgalore · 28/01/2021 11:38

Yes I think that's a great goal - 8th . March! Think I'll be doing this for a while if I can stick with it but good to have shorter term goals too. I have a winter coat that I can't currently do up. I can wear it and it looks fine open but it would be massive squeeze to do up. I know when I bought it I was around a size 12 so looking forward to comfortably being able to zip it up again!

Had this for tea last night. Went up to around 400 on calories. It's the Exante shepherds pie mix with sardines in Tom sauce - fish cakes with feta style salad! Hadn't realised sardines had as many calories as they do so it was more calorie wise than I anticipated. Going to use smaller amount of tuna next time. It was low in carbs though.
Left the fish cakes in the oven slightly too long so excuse the slightly singed look. Very tasty though.

Finding it super helpful in lots of ways to calorie/carb count and weigh portions properly. I've resisted doing it properly in the past for some reason but it's totally helping me re-set in terms of portion size.

Hope everyone doing Ok.

Hi everyone - would it be totally nosey of me if we can have a little summary of days on Exante = weigh loss to date

I lose track of how everyone is doing and how long they have been on Exante? I know @Weston14 is like 24 days = 16lbs (its around that I think?)

The meals people are posting look great :)

Weston14 · 28/01/2021 18:40

Hi guys - @Brademajo I'm on day 18 (I think?) and I've now lost 17.75lbs. So pretty much a lb a day. Even with my cheat(s) Wink !

Brademajo · 28/01/2021 18:51

@Weston14 OOoo much better than I thought - well done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

par05 · 28/01/2021 19:05

Hi well done @Weston14 brilliant! Have you weighed yet @Brademajo? I lost 16 lbs in probably a month to 5 weeks, got to be honest did put a bit back on over xmas the lost that again, nowadays pretty much maintaining, but do want to lose another 7lbs.

OP posts:
Kittensgalore · 28/01/2021 19:21

@Weston14 that's amazing- how much in total do you want to lose?

@par05 also v impressive, maintaining is really tricky so well done. I think it's a good idea to have a break, maintain and then go again for the final few pounds. I'm definitely going to try that this time.

I've no idea what I've lost. Almost 3 weeks in, definitely feeling it now. Hoping for around a stone a month. Or thereabouts. At least that seems to be pretty standard on the Exante Facebook page. Some weeks some folk lose hardly anything but usually over time a stone a month seems pretty typical/ achievable. So that's what I'm hoping for. Not that I'll know but I'll feel it in my clothes- I hope!!!

LordOfTheOnionRings · 28/01/2021 19:36

I'm a week in but haven't weighed myself. I know I'm over 20 stone and I'm the heaviest I've ever been, I lost a lot of weight when my son was born but in the six months I've been back at work with the stress I have piled on the weight.

Anyone else feel/felt nervous about seeing their weight? I'm not sure if it will motivate me or just make me think 'what's the point?'

par05 · 28/01/2021 20:59

@LordOfTheOnionRings I'm sure it will motivate you! And keep at it your changing your eating habits and that is always good x

OP posts:
Brademajo · 28/01/2021 21:20

I havent weighed yet - I know my start weight. Im waiting until Saturday am - that will be the full 28 days (Saturday would be day 29)
I'm nervous to weigh - I would be ecstatic to have lost a stone but I just dont feel like I have. My clothes are a little looser but not like those before and after type photos!
I havent cheated on the diet - not once - and had 3 x 'meals' a day. Im worried that my exercise hasnt been high enough to have burnt the fat.
ah well - we will see on Saturday. If Ive only lost 4-5lbs I will be gutted

Will let you know either way (fingers crossed)

ps at least all the christmas temptations have been eaten by the rest of the family!

Kittensgalore · 28/01/2021 21:27

@LordOfTheOnionRings I totally relate. It the reason I've not weighed. I think I am around 15 stone and I'm short so it's really not good. Heaviest I've ever been as well. I'm worried that I'll weigh and be heavier than I think and just get really despondent. Maybe I'll be lighter but I don't think so. And the problem with weighing now is that I'll have no idea how much I've lost. So I'm definitely not weighing for the foreseeable. I think after 4 weeks there will be a noticeable difference and that will spur us on. And I'm going to weigh at some point and then keep weighing regularly in order not to get in this mess again but I'm just not ready for it.

I have seen photos where people have used ribbon to measure certain parts of their body- tummy/arms/hips. And pinned them up next to each other, a month apart and the difference is amazing. You could always try something like that @LordOfTheOnionRings. Might give good visual motivation without the stress of having to weigh. Keep going though. We can do it💪

Brademajo · 28/01/2021 21:28

@LordOfTheOnionRings - we are in this together! As @par05 says - we are changing our eating habits so whatever the weight loss its got to be better for us than the eating habits we were doing before the diet.
We will get there if we keep trying :)

Kittensgalore · 28/01/2021 21:37

@Brademajo good luck for Saturday. It should definitely be more than a few pounds. Fingers crossed!

GaryUnicorn · 28/01/2021 23:18

4oz off losing a stone! (My scales weigh in quarter pounds!) I swear, if I have not shed those four ounces by tomorrow morning I will cut my hair, clip my nails, until I have lost that stone! Which would be a fab result in 24 days!

Brademajo · 29/01/2021 08:30

Morning all,

Thanks for the update - I think the summary looks like this
@Weston14 18 days = 17.75lbs - amazing (will be more now!)
@par05 1 month/5 weeks = 14 lbs (maintaining but wants another 7lbs)
@Kittensgalore 3 weeks = ? (not weighed yet)
@LordOfTheOnionRings 1 week = ? (not weighed yet)
@GaryUnicorn 24 days = just under stone (hopefully more than stone today)
@Brademajo 27 days = ? (weigh at 28 days)

I hope you dont mind me summarising but this helps me have some reality check on where people are on their 'journey' (everyone says journey now dont they!) I appreciate we are all different sizes /lifestyles and this is not a race etc. Personally I would like to lose 2 stone - eventually - but need to get to a place where I am eating sensibly by myself, ie not relying on a diet meal.

Good luck everyone - it would be lovely to summarise again on MARCH 8TH (Blessed day) and find us all reached or well on the way to reaching our goals :)

Brademajo · 29/01/2021 08:36

@GarytheRedNosedUnicorn - apologies if I have left you out - are you also known as GaryUnicorn?
