Pre Christmas 22 Boot Camp: the Final Weigh-In!

Good Morning Campers on this cold and crisp morning! Smile Time for the final weigh-in of this Pre-Christmas Boot Camp Xmas Shock. @FinallyHere will be along shortly with the link to the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness Xmas Smile

I hope you've enjoyed this Boot Camp and that you've achieved at least some objectives, either or both SVs and NSVs FlowersXmas Smile.

I've certainly enjoyed running it in @BIWI's not quite total Wink absence (I really appreciated her contributions - she has so much knowledge and experience Smile). As well as @BIWI and @FinallyHere's help, I'd also like to thank @StuntNun who also added her knowledge when called upon. And of course, all you lot. The support we give each other is also what helps make these Boot Camps so successful - as well, of course, because this WoE works Xmas Grin

This thread will continue on over Christmas until it fills up (which i doubt, as we've not been as busy as in some previous Boot Camps).

There's still time to lose a few more pounds/kg before Christmas if you want to - I know I still have a target of another few pounds Xmas Shock - but I'll be happy with just one or two as I've already lost over a stone this Boot Camp Xmas Smile (official weigh-in tomorrow after having non-BootCamp compliant supper at my Dad's last night Xmas Blush)

Thank you very, very kindly for running this book camp, @prettybird and to @Biwi and @stuntnun and everyone who contributes. Staying engaged on these threads does seem to keep me focused on the benefits of this WOE. I look forward to your company throughout the festive period and into 2023

Huge huge thank yous to everyone from me. It’s been a really good learning process - lost 10.5lbs which is great. I’ve another 7 or so to go which feels very achievable over the next couple of months. Everyone has been incredibly supportive but also shining a light on my foibles. I mentioned at the end of the last thread that I’m going tea total but will need to take care not to introduce any non-alcoholic carby versions. I think I’ll get a soda stream in new year as I do love fizzy water.
Today I’m packing. Food will be leftovers. I made a Bolognese last night so will have that for lunch & again for dinner & probably lunch tomorrow as the fridge is pretty bare! I may fast on the plane but it’s not like I can keep busy so think I’ll struggle. I’ve looked at the menu onboard and it looks like I can stick to this woe as the carby elements seem to be separate. I’ll stick to water & mint teas & drink gallons!

Passtheturkey · 12/12/2022 09:10

Delurking to say a huge thank you to everyone and especially @prettybird! I’ve been following along, not able to weigh in this week as off work with lurgy and I use their scales but I had lost 20lb at last weeks weigh in so very happy with that.

Still got a stone to go to reach my target so going to try and KOKO and avoid the Christmas temptation as best as I can.

BIWI · 12/12/2022 09:58

I'm very envious of your Oz trip @NotDonna - I'd love to be in the Sydney sunshine right now!

Skiphopbump · 12/12/2022 10:55

Than so everyone who has both run the thread and contributed- the motivation everyone has given has been really helpful.

I started the week before bootcamp started following the BC rules and have lost 34.2lbs in that time - I’m amazed at how easy it has been to follow and how satisfying that t has been too! I was 278lbs before I started and really wanted to get below 250lbs before Christmas and I made it earlier than expected, there’s a chance I could even got to under 240lbs in the next few days!

Thanks again all, I’m carrying on with just a break on 24-26th and 31st. Already looking forward to the next bootcamp - I’ll decide my goal when I’ve seen the damage after Christmas!

Lucienandjean · 12/12/2022 11:47

A big thank you from me, @prettybird! I love the accountability of Bootcamp. I'm low-carbing full time as I've still loads more weight to lose, but it's much easier during bootcamps. The weekly weigh-in keeps me on plan, and the chat on these threads is so encouraging.

NotDonna · 12/12/2022 12:02

It’s well overdue @BIWI! We were due to go Easter 2020 then re-booked for Xmas 2020 thinking covid would be a couple of months. Ha!! DH is aussie and all his family there. He went out as soon as restrictions lifted (around Jan last year) as his folks are elderly & ailing - he helped move granny into a nursing home and persuade his dad he wasn’t been mean by doing so. I think my DDs could be quite shocked when we see them. It’s now been 5 years. I’m currently trying on shorts and they’re all fitting nicely - one pair a bit loose so they’ll stay home. Given I can’t weigh they’ll give me a bit of guidance!

NotDonna · 12/12/2022 12:06

Wow @Passtheturkey and @Skiphopbump what amazing results! Yes I agree @Lucienandjean there's something about popping in here and accountability.

venusandmars · 12/12/2022 13:34

Thankyou @prettybird for taking on the responsibility for this bootcamp and for keeping us all motivated.

I've had a 'challenging' weekend with a limited choice buffet lunch on Friday, a party the same evening with lots of snacks and canapes, visitors on Saturday with various allergies and then lunch out yesterday which was a 'thankyou' present from a friend and which was not a very bc-compatible menu. I'll be strict this week and weigh in a couple of days!

comfortablyfrumpy · 12/12/2022 15:55

Happy Monday folks
A loss and I can now say I have lost More Than 2 and a half stone:) It feels good!

Here's to a great week, everyone :)

BIWI · 12/12/2022 17:45

You'll have to change your username then @comfortablyfrumpy! Well done Flowers

Baystard · 12/12/2022 18:27

I wasn't going to weigh again this bootcamp but decided to see what my total was - 20lb! I'm the lightest I've been for many many years and feel so much better.

Huge thanks to @prettybird, @FinallyHere, @BIWI and all at Team Bootcamp - I definitely wouldn't have done it without you all!

I'm going to hang around, I'm not racing back to the carbs as I have so very much cheese to eat over Christmas

FinallyHere · 12/12/2022 18:29

feel so much better.

Gratters @Baystard

Mmmm, cheese.

NotDonna · 12/12/2022 18:35

That made me giggle Baystard enjoy your cheese! 2.5stone comfortable blooming amazing!

ZiggZagg · 12/12/2022 19:03

I was not going to post that I seem to have put 3lb on overnight but I'm putting my big girl pants on!

I know where it came from, I enjoyed it but it can't happen again (not yet anyway!)

Have upped my water hoping it will be off in a day or two Grin

NotDonna · 12/12/2022 19:24

Ah well done with your honesty and accountability @ZiggZagg and it sounds like it was a mindful eating/drinking episode. Back on it and koko!

FinallyHere · 12/12/2022 20:22

Good spot BIWI

How about a new name @comfortablyfrumpy

ComfortablyGlamorous
ComfortablySvelte
ComfortablyGorgeous

Any more ?

comfortablyfrumpy · 12/12/2022 21:40

Thanks folks. I don't quite identity with those yet.... Still some more to go!

I just wish I had discovered this WOE years ago. And these threads are fantastic support, thank you.

KOKO everyone, we are smashing it!

NotDonna · 13/12/2022 00:48

You can’t have frumpy! That simply cannot be allowed. I’m sure you’re one of finally’s suggestions. But if your really insist not then How about ComfortablyKOKO or ComfyNotLumpy as an interim. Then next boot camp embrace the svelte.
Ive just looked at our Christmas Day menu and think I’ll need to have a day off BC as it’s a set one and a big family one (tensions will be high). I can avoid the bread. I think the starters and puds will be tiny. I may go for the fish or the beef main and request no potatoes but I don’t want to make too much fuss in-front of the outlaws. What do you think?

Pre Christmas 22 Boot Camp: the Final Weigh-In!
NotDonna · 13/12/2022 00:50

It can most definitely be all I eat that day!

Baystard · 13/12/2022 06:20

@comfortablyfrumpy congratulations, 2.5 stone is a great achievement-a big result from your hard work!

@NotDonna the gravadlax sounds good then I'd have the turkey dinner as they tend to be meat-heavy and I've not yet met a dining colleague who hasn't gratefully taken my roast potatoes Grin

I'm getting through my Christmas social engagements relatively unscathed (one was an Indian restaurant and I skipped the rice and dessert but did have vegetable pakora - worth it though) - 5 to go!

NotDonna · 13/12/2022 07:09

Crikey @Baystard 5 to go! How lovely to be so social. I think we get ALL the starters as it says ‘individual tasting plate’ - it’s incredibly expensive so I think it’ll be very nice but small portions. Re-looking I think it’ll have to be the beef and request no mash. If I go with Turkey I’ll have to give away the roasties, stuffing and cranberry sauce.
Im down a bit more this morning and have broken into the next stone bracket at 10st 13.2lbs yeah!
I spoke to SIL yesterday who’ll we be seeing lots of in Oz and she’s been in a retreat/clinic on a mega fast and lost 8kg in 2 weeks, so well over a stone. But it seems it’s been about fasting only rather than LC so I’ll be telling her the benefits of this woe (that can be combined with fasting). I sent her a Jason Fung video as he does extol the virtues of both.

comfortablyfrump · 13/12/2022 07:43

@NotDonna I embraced my works Christmas dinner (which was scrumptious) by just avoiding the parsnips and tatties and any sauce that was sweet. In previous years I would have felt stuffed, this time I felt satisfied abd didnt feel I missed out at all. That menu looks lush, enjoy it :)

Loving the suggestions. How about ComfortablyLessLumpy?

@Baystard 5 to go woohoo!! For me I think it is10 and will see how I feel then. I am finding I am losing it from everywhere but my middle!

Happy Tuesday everyone.

comfortablylesslumpy · 13/12/2022 07:48

Better? Grin
