I know! Doesn't time fly when you're having fun? Wink

As ever, here's the spreadsheet

If you haven't seen any loss this week - or have seen a slight gain - but you know you haven't cheated, please don't despair. Remember, this is often the case in weeks 3 and 4. So don't panic, just KOKO.

Although I have very much enjoyed the consistent run of lovely weather we've been having, I am looking forward to the arrival of some cooler air and, in particular, some rain. Looks like we might be in for some thunderstorms too.

Anyway, wherever you are and whatever your weather is like, I hope you have a good week

@WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa congratulations to your DD, too!

BasiliskStare · 18/08/2022 18:50

@ditavonteesed - so pleased for you and DD - it's a stressful time

So I have been sticking to rules and have gone from just over 10st to just under 9and a half. I really I would like to be a squidge under 9st for my height and frame - but pleased in the direction it is going. I seem to stuck on this weight at the moment - but that's OK by me - slow and steady wins the race is my mantra at the moment. ideally I would be 8 and a half stone but I am not going to quibble if I get to s sustainable weight just under 9st.

Next week we are going on holiday to Scotland. The hotel has a lovely restaurant. I am pretty sure I will be able to find something LC & certainly for breakfast ( bacon eggs black pudding - realise last might have to be taken in moderation ) . But I am going to enjoy myself whilst trying the best I can to stick to LC. We do not have many nice holidays so I shall maintain a decent balance whilst having a nice time. They do do nice venison or steak & also prawns so I am sure I can find something delicious.

comfortablyfrumpy · 18/08/2022 18:52

@WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa congrats to your DD too!

Chocasaurus · 18/08/2022 21:13

@WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa congrats to your dd 👏

ditavonteesed · 18/08/2022 18:07

@WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa blimey I thought 1 at a time was bad enough.

I could really do with a glass of something but since dd is going out I don't drink just in case mums taxi is needed.
Sorry for the totally un diet related talk but I appreciate all the support it's been the weirdest day ever.

Could be worse. I have twins doing their Irish equivalent of A levels next year.

And their older sister is the most organised and disciplined student ever who got an A* in every exam she ever sat.

ditavonteesed · 19/08/2022 06:58

@ChimneyPot blimey, I don't envy you that one.

Nsv, I noticed in my reflection yesterday that my collar bones are really defined and I have definitely have a little v at the bottom of my neck because that's where all the sweat pools when I work out.

Conversation with my pt went.
Pt - look at those triceps
Me - yeah I'm very proud of my triceps.
Pt - well your biceps are pretty good too, nothing wrong with them guns.

I was buzzing for hours. I feel like my body is really starting to change shape to a strong toned body and I'm even starting to get the outline of abs.

Back to the wagon today, I'm going to see an old uni friend in a few weeks who I haven't seen for years and for the first time ever I'm not embarrassed by the state of me.

Pleaseandthankyou · 19/08/2022 10:55

Glad all went well in the end. Friday weigh in. Same as last week which is a miracle as I had a full weekend of special functions. Another weekend of the same coming up. It is hard to refuse bubbles on a special occasion.

Chocasaurus · 19/08/2022 21:30

@ditavonteesed great nsv and must be so lovely to be feeling great about yourself

Food today
B - yoghurt
L - tuna, avocado and feta salad
D - chicken curry
W - 3.5l

Sooo looking forward to the weekend after an exhausting first week in the new job!

teraculum29 · 20/08/2022 08:53

Hi All,
Meant to join the bootcamp after my holiday but there is always a but.

I got back on 16th with present that I didnt wish for, which completely delaying everything.
Not feeling well, have Covid.
Reducing my carbs at the mo, not full on as yet as the cravings for snacking and sugary stuff are very big.

But from my perspective if you are low carb please dont come back to carby food.
You will get headaches, sleepiness and feeling sluggish most of the time.

Hoping to recover soon and fully and properly join next bootcamp.

FinallyHere · 20/08/2022 09:53

Sorry to read you are not feeling well @teraculum29

Do what you have to do, hope you feel better soon. I have a long way to go to 'normal BMI so am in it for the long haul - see you next Bootcamp.

comfortablyfrumpy · 20/08/2022 11:19

@teraculum29 I hope you feel better soon.

I had a brainwave this morning - going to try next batch of LC bread in the air fryer. I am really trying not to use the oven where possible, so why don't I give this a go! I am determined to crack this 😀

Chocasaurus · 20/08/2022 13:57

@teraculum29 get better soon

ditavonteesed · 21/08/2022 07:03

@teraculum29 hope your feeling better soon.
@comfortablyfrumpy do you use the air fryer for much, I always want one but I can't think what I would actually cook in it.
Where is everyone?
I haven't done well at work yesterday, I had an absolutely lovely salad with beef and pork but I didn't get a break until 4.30pm and there were chocolates in the office, I don't even really like chocolate. I really need to work out how to manage at work as it keeps getting me. I managed it well when I first started so I know I can. I will do soul searching today to work out how I take will power to work as I can't keep undoing everything. Maybe I should retire.
Dd2 wants Chinese on Thursday for her results day, I'm fairly sure I can do Chinese boot camp friendly and I think I will go back to strict boot camp for 2 weeks as I've lost it need to reset.

Sunsnowsun · 21/08/2022 08:37

Hi congratulations to all those with exam results, it’s a very emotional time.

We are on holiday in France, I am trying to stick to it as I actually feel so much better, but have moved over to bootcamp light. I have got some scales here, but not sure how good they are, but they will enable me to weigh in on those and keep an eye over the next 2 weeks.

wishing everyone well for tomorrow’s weigh in

Baystard · 21/08/2022 08:43

@comfortablyfrumpy I'm very excited for you and the air fryer trial! I'm going to make more today but in the firm of a ring of tear-and-share type rolls around the edge of the slow cooker.

I had a difficult day on Friday and was compelled to eat everything in sight (my off switch just seemed to be broken), but was fine yesterday and ate both healthily and more moderately.

Tonight is roast beef and a veg traybake.

@teraculum29 hope you're on the mend soon.

ChimneyPot · 21/08/2022 10:25

I am a bit concerned about weigh in tomorrow.
I have been visiting parents and in laws for 4 days.
in theory I have stuck to BC lite but I know even though my Mum was being very supportive and cooked a special version of dinner for me that she used lots of flour to make a roux.
Of course after all her effort I thanked her and ate it.
At in laws I just tried to eat on plan without saying anything but again lots of sauces that definitely had a roux base.
I tried sticking to small portions of the sauce based meals without the accompanying rice/ pasta/chips and have some LC bread toasted later.

I am also considering an air fryer. The thought of courgette dipped in egg and Parmesan and other veggies in the air fryer is my motive.

pinknsparkly · 21/08/2022 13:02

Glad results day turned out well for everyone, even if it was a little hairy at times! A friend of mine is paying for all of her daughter's exams to be re-marked. She was predicted an A* in chemistry and came out with a D.... The poor kid is devastated. She's got into her second choice uni (which had a higher grade requirement) but only wants her first choice. So if the remarking and clearing approach doesn't work, she'll either work for a year or do a foundation year.

We are currently eyeball deep in boxes of packing and I've spent most of the weekend taking car loads of once precious possessions crap to the dump. It's amazing how brutal you can be when you're moving house 😜

I've just had a slightly unexpected NSV. I went to Tesco to pick up a few bits and really fancied chocolate. When I've felt this previously, I've made myself buy a LC snack instead and still actually just wanted chocolate. But today I gave myself permission to treat myself to whatever I wanted that was LC. I came home with avocado, mozzarella and vine ripened tomatoes that I drizzled in olive oil for lunch. And as soon as I made the decision to treat myself to whatever I wanted, I didnt even want the chocolate anymore! I do enjoy the LC WOE but do often feel a bit deprived so this was a really nice sensation 😄

Baystard · 21/08/2022 13:45

Well LC rolls in the slow cooker were a success, they cooked far more quickly and evenly than a single loaf. I made 5 of them instead of 1 loaf, so quite big. Sliced them each into 3 before freezing. I didn't time how long they had cooking but perhaps 90 mins. They aren't as fluffy as @comfortablyfrumpy 's ones but I'd added some ground linseed plus sunflower seeds, so a bit denser - but excellent toasted. 👌

It took me 5 mins to make the 'dough' so pretty easy. I estimate the cost at £4.50 for the batch inc electricity and it yielded about 600g.

comfortablyfrumpy · 21/08/2022 14:11

Quick check in.... had oven on anyway for something else, so did LC bread in there.

Air fryer - only recently got one (a big one Tower, with "shelves"has a rotisserie so you can sctually cook a whole chicken in it. I got it with big discount on on Prime Day. It is like a mini oven really!

It is fab - so far have done oven chips and stuff like that (not for me obvs), kebabs, stuffed peppers, tuna steaks. Great for riast cauliflowrr, which I have a lot. It uses a lot less power than an oven so looking to use it a lot!

I will do next batch of LC bread in it at end of week and report back

Sorry 'bout dat.

Pocket post.

ChimneyPot · 21/08/2022 20:08

bills-website.co.uk/menus/

Can anyone suggest what to order on the dinner menu here. Girls night out.

comfortablyfrumpy · 21/08/2022 20:28

Ooh yum!

How about burrata followed by steak and salad?

Lougle · 21/08/2022 22:42

Wow, that's a good menu. Burrata for sure. Either the steak and salad, the half roast chicken with salad, or the char grilled lamb (I know peas are higher carb but it's a pretty lovely restaurant!)

I'm still ticking on here. Nothing spectacular to record in terms of menu or events. I am more or less at target now (BMI 19.5) so need to maintain rather than lose.

bandbsmummy · 22/08/2022 07:02

Eurgh a weekend at PILs has undone some of my good work. Tried my best to avoid the carbs with out being rude but at dinner, it was all piled on. Managed to offload some to the DC.

Breakfast I ended up with just meat and eggs (not sure how bad the sausages were) but then was very light headed. Have had a few bouts of being light headed this week.

By some miracle have STS but in reality lost 2lb and our back on again 😑
