I know! Doesn't time fly when you're having fun? Wink

As ever, here's the spreadsheet

If you haven't seen any loss this week - or have seen a slight gain - but you know you haven't cheated, please don't despair. Remember, this is often the case in weeks 3 and 4. So don't panic, just KOKO.

Although I have very much enjoyed the consistent run of lovely weather we've been having, I am looking forward to the arrival of some cooler air and, in particular, some rain. Looks like we might be in for some thunderstorms too.

Anyway, wherever you are and whatever your weather is like, I hope you have a good week

@Lougle that's what I've done for now to make it look right!

CleanQueen123 · 15/08/2022 19:03

No loss this week but I'm putting that down to my period and the heat. I couldn't face working out this week but I did stick to low carbing. Hoping for a woosh next week.

Pleaseandthankyou · 15/08/2022 19:41

Thank you for all the bread info. I just need to get some ground almonds.

Baystard · 15/08/2022 19:49

Well done on the losses all. @pinknsparkly it's tough seeing the scales going up isn't it, but at least you know they'll come back down.

Tasty tandoori chicken tonight, lots of salad, and huge dollop of soured cream.

I've just finished my 2 weeks of very strict BC having started a week late. In that 2 weeks I've lost a bit more than I'd put on in between bootcamps - so I'm really chuffed.

Bananajam · 15/08/2022 20:21

STS for me but all good! Less than two weeks until our holiday and I'm feeling good. Pesto chicken with FLGV for dinner - delicious 😋

5thWisdom · 15/08/2022 21:36

Just checking in on new thread. 1lb up this week, pre-menstrual, have stuck to rules. Fingers crossed for a loss next week!

Well done all on the great progress all. Starting to feel like second nature now, not craving carbs at all and also not fancying any alcohol. Long may this continue!

And onwards!

posting to placemark

Stupidly busy week

I'll be back

Chocasaurus · 16/08/2022 06:15

Sorry I've been AWOL the last few days. A busy weekend with 2 meals out and visitors. No loss (and no gain!) for me this week but very pleased given the wine that was consumed and the fact I did have a small piece of naan bread at the Indian and had no desire to jump headfirst into a pile of carbs after. Sticking to strict BC this week 🙃

Baystard · 16/08/2022 07:27

Scales STS for the last three days: anticipation of a whoosh is building!!

Slightly disappointed this morning to find that I seem to have changed shape since the start of lockdown (though not weight). A pair of skinny black jeans that were a work favourite are now simultaneously snug at the waist but too baggy in the bum to wear in public. I do have an awful saggy-and-flabby tum after c-section but I don't remember it being this bad before. 😕

BIWI · 16/08/2022 08:27

Glad to here you've STS @Chocasaurus - hopefully that will give you an insight into what maintenance could be like for you, i.e. being able to include such things every now and then.

Just be vigilant over the next few days though.

@Baystard we'll all be rooting for you Grin

Hopefully the changes in body shape are just the beginning though, and the rest of you will catch up

@5thWisdom glad to hear it's starting be your new normal. If you've stuck to the rules, and you're pre-menstrual, remember we're currently in the weeks 3/4 doldrums - KOKO and you should be fine

Also, having done this since May (so quite a newbie still, but seeing patterns) we can fluctuate day to day. So if you are weighing weekly, you might be up 1lb on weigh day, but you could easily be down again the next day and just not know it. That's why trends over time are so useful. I'm up 300g today after 3 days STS, but I expect it will be gone again tomorrow. Just KOKO.

5thWisdom · 16/08/2022 11:01

Thanks @BIWI and @Lougle that is hugely encouraging.

I always lose weight in a strange way too. Boobs first, then waist. Then hips - which then leaves a strange dent each side of my thighs at the top which are always last to go!! Like an S shape. Never even!

loopylu26 · 16/08/2022 11:31

1.5lb on for me unfortunately. I can’t say I’m surprised or disappointed as probably only been following WOE 60% as have had family visiting since Thursday.

They don’t leave until Friday, and then it’s my anniversary so off out for another meal therefore I'll definitely not lose the 1.5lb this week. I guess I’d have put on a lot more if I’d not been trying to follow WOE. Next week back on it 100%

PeloAddict · 16/08/2022 11:56

Is tajin seasoning ok? (Not technically doing BC but following the posts) I seem to have accidentally fallen into LC eating

Chocasaurus · 16/08/2022 20:05

@BIWI that's a great way to frame last week, thank you. Still can't imagine life without chocolate yet so nice I might be able to have the odd bit here and there once I get to maintenance!

I was wondering why the yoghurt I bought for my breakfast at work yesterday/today wasn't filling - just opened the fridge at home and twigged the pot at home is a different colour. Must have got natural rather than Greek in my rush before work 😫My desire to snack seems to be dwindling though which is a great NSV.

Period has started today - not craving carbs/chocolate yet, but worried about the next couple of days as they are usually v heavy and painful and I definitely usually comfort eat.

prettybird · 16/08/2022 21:14

@Chocasaurus - you have to be really careful to get the right "colour"

Lidl for example very confusingly do Full Fat (Authentic) Greek yoghurt with a dark blue band on the lid, "Light" Greek yoghurt with a pale blue band and Zero fat Greek yoghurt with a pink band. Confused And they mix them up on the same tray on the shelf ShockAngry

bella1426 · 16/08/2022 21:54

Evening all, checking in on todays food intake

Breakfast - 2 x coffees with cream
Lunch - omlette with spinach mushrooms cheddar and smoked haddock
Snack - 2 squares of lindt 90% with a thin scraping of peanut butter and whipped cream (on my period - sorry/not sorry - a bit naughty but totally worth it)
Dinner - tuna, feta, olives, artichoke, caper salad

Feeling very pleasantly satisfied in between meals 😊

DearieMeWhatsUp · 16/08/2022 21:56

Period twin here too, day one today so not going to bother weighing for a few days at least.

Lunch - chicken thighs from yesterday with some cucumber, lettuce and feta

Dinner - prawn stirfry with egg fried cauli rice

Lucienandjean · 16/08/2022 22:09

Evening all! Just popping with today's food. I find this is one of the best bits of BC - the accountability!

B: coffee with a dash of milk
L: cream cheese with salad veg to scoop it up, a slice of ham.
D: roast chicken, broccoli, mushrooms and tomatoes fried in butter, avocado
S: a couple of strawberries and some clotted cream.

Week 4 - July 22 Low Carb Bootcamp - the end of the first half!
BIWI · 16/08/2022 22:35

Hmm. There seems to be a fair bit of justifying cheating because of periods. That sounds like an excuse to me ...

OP posts:
Lougle · 16/08/2022 22:43

Evening all, sorry to hear period woes.

B - Greek yoghurt and clotted cream.
L - roasted chicken.
D - buttery veg with lamb burger.

Fluids: 4l

comfortablyfrumpy · 16/08/2022 23:11

Evening all.

Today's fare-

Brunch: Usual Greek yoghurt with some frozen (defrosted) currants, and chia seeds

D: Aubergine, mushroom and leek ratatouille with mozzarella and skinny rice.

Snacks: slice of @Baystard LC bread, toasted with salty butter,
2 x 1g carb cheesey crackers

FancyFelix · 17/08/2022 06:57

Morning all, sorry I'm late to the thread. Keep forgetting to weigh myself first thing and I refuse to do it later in the day as it's so variable. I've stayed the same, which is not a 3/4 week stall, it's just me not following the plan properly Confused

I find it so hard with the kids and their constant food needs during the school holidays. Always seem to end up putting something in my mouth that I shouldn't, even if I manage to keep my meals low carb. Very busy with work too, worked 14 hours yesterday, so that is also an issue.

I will get back to it properly, it just might take me a while. 2.5 until they go back to school!!

PennyPinkPineapple · 17/08/2022 07:28

Morning all. Weigh day for me today because I started on Wednesday last week.

I've lost 9lbs but I think only 6lbs of that is a 'real' loss and the rest is down to having what I suspect was norovirus. I was very unwell yesterday and was only able to start drinking water again late afternoon. I'm expecting to gain a bit back when I start eating again.

I'm really craving crackers, bread and fruit 😩 I'm definitely not ready for dairy or meat.

ditavonteesed · 17/08/2022 07:50

I made the rain come, I went out last night in sandals and there it was, very proud of myself.
Had a lovely pork belly and prawn curry came with noodles that I didn't eat.
Finally feeling better.
Prepping myself for tomorrow. Expecting to feel all the emotions, I've been looking through clearing at the uni dd wants to go to and discovered 6 options of courses if she doesn't get the grades she needs so I feel much better. There is even a foundation year option for the course she wants.

Today I will be keeping as busy as possible to distract myself now I know what we have to do tomorrow. This is so bloody stressful. Dd is planning on going out tomorrow night obviously and I have said she will not be going out without a place at uni confirmed so I think she is feeling a bit better.
