Week 2 - Leaving Lockdown Low Carb Bootcamp

BIWI · 18/04/2021 20:52

Sunday night here is games night, so better that I start the thread now, before I forget as I've gone to bed so late!

I truly hope that this link to the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness works!

Apologies if it doesn't, but hopefully someone will come and post a working one if it doesn't!

I love week 2, as for those who haven't low carbed before the results are often spectacularly incredible!

But even for those of us who are more used to low carbing, hopefully this first week has seen you make a good start.

It's looking like some warmer weather is heading our way, which always makes things seem more positive - but also focuses our minds on things like skimpier clothing, so hopefully will help to keep us toeing the line!

I hope the scales have rewarded your hard work, and here's to a good week ahead Flowers

@ZiggZagg best wishes for you and your DF

@Moonswimmer that's fantastic, well done! You'll be overweight before you know it!

@VeryLittleOwl I'm tired just reading your post

FusionChefGeoff · 19/04/2021 07:24

@VeryLittleOwl bloody hell that's a harsh regime - how long have you got to do that for???

@ZiggZagg I am so sorry to hear about your DF sending love for a peaceful day whatever it may be

Cactusowl · 19/04/2021 07:25

A tiny gain here but I know it happens to me every few weeks and if I carry on it will start dropping again.
Even though the scales my not be reflecting a loss my clothes are looser. I’ve been doing a lot of walking, average of 17k a day, and can see my hips and legs are shrinking.

Bestbees · 19/04/2021 07:26

Well done to everyone with great losses!

@potas had a bad week too. We can smash it this week!

@ZiggZagg

Bestbees · 19/04/2021 07:29

Well done to everyone with great losses!

Trying to tag more people but whatever I type it overrides it with ziggzagg for some reason!

I undeserved ly lost 2lb this week despite Cathy twat party. That puts me back to end of last bootcamp weight. On it properly this week. The discussion about eating breakfast making people more hungry is making me go back to no breakfast.

L green soup and two boiled eggs
D fennel and leek and blue cheese gratin.
Will go for a swim too.

blackbettybramblejam · 19/04/2021 07:31

Wow I lost 5lbs, I'm so pleased!
So sorry I haven't been on much I have just started working full time (teaching) and am sometimes still doing planning at 10:30 at night so it's been hard spinning all the plates but I am with you all and just KOKO.
Have a great week 2 and i'll try and get on here more this week.

FusionChefGeoff · 19/04/2021 07:34

@oscarandelliesdad that happened to me on my first week. I was so unprepared for a big whooosh but they do happen - and it stuck!

Ifeelmuchlessfat · 19/04/2021 07:38

@debka kjust want to say well done on a great loss to someone who’s been doing this for a while! You obviously haven’t lost your motivation and it’s great to see that it’s still possible to lose quite a bit even when the body is adapted.

I’ve had a lovely morning - woke at 6 to the pungent odour that indicates our poor ddog’s stomach is still not right, and he and his bed (and the wall, floor etc) were covered...
Have been out hosing him down in the frost (beautiful morning) and now have to go back inside 😷💩

Have a good day everyone

pinkpinkeverywhere · 19/04/2021 07:46

Morning, really pleased with my 2.4lbs loss as I haven't stopped between bootcamps so haven't done an absolutely strict first week bootcamp - may have had a G&T for example. This takes me just over a 2 stone loss since the 18th Jan and I'm actually starting to feel like I've lost some weight. Only 1lb to go and that will be my lowest for years.
A nice NSV when I took children clothes shopping was that I bought things in a size 12 and when I tried them on at home they fitted! They looked awful as the style wasn't for me, but they fitted and that made me happy Grin

Jellycatspyjamas · 19/04/2021 07:48

Good morning everyone, 3lb off for me which is bloody miracle given my Saturday skip - don’t worry, I won’t be taking it as a sign I can do that again but I’m delighted to still see a loss.

I’m seeing a friend for lunch today and she’s planning a ploughman’s style lunch but I can pick out the low carb bits of that, she’s purposely planned something I can pick at.

Food for today will be

B. Greek yoghurt
L. Low carb bits of a ploughman’s
D hamburger pie and lots of salad

Good luck for folk weighing in today - some fabulous losses already - I love first week in boot camp!

Rshard · 19/04/2021 07:57

Checking back in with a 6lb loss, which I’m absolutely delighted with. Although I’m losing weight that I’ve previously lost but never mind!

Wishing every one a good Monday.

BuffyTheBuffetSlayer · 19/04/2021 08:20

@BlueLilyLilyBlue I have nights like that with my 2 all the time, it's so hard isn't it! Makes sticking to this WOE an even bigger achievement I think.

@ZiggZagg sorry to hear about your DF Flowers

@blackbettybramblejam snap! 5lb loss here too, and totally unexpected since it was only 2lb yesterday morning!

Well done everyone else on your losses!

Doilooklikeatourist · 19/04/2021 08:25

2lb off which I’m delighted with
@VeryLittleOwl year a ago , one of mums friends kept a few sheep as a hobby . I remember her saying that nothing wakes you up quite like climbing over an icy fence in the middle of the night whilst wearing an over coat over your nighty
I think I’m to blame for recommending falsely the keto chocolate cake
( hangs head ) what I thought was 70% chocolate was actually 55%
Which would explain why I thought it was lovely ( which it was ) but not actually low carb

Jollyholibobs · 19/04/2021 08:29

Great losses every one.

Sorry about your dad @ZiggZagg Flowers

Beautiful sunny day here. Hoping to be able to keep up with the thread this week and join in.

B black coffee (long time 16:8)
L left over no base pizza with coleslaw
D egg fried cauli rice with prawns

pangolinfan · 19/04/2021 08:35

2lb off, but 10lb off since I started on 2 April and now over 5% body weight. Very happy. Love the additional sophistication of the spreadsheet since I last stepped aboard the bootcamp train five years ago (I may be misremembering but don't recall body weight and pre bootcamp losses being on it then).

Linnet · 19/04/2021 08:37

Well I have lost the grand total of 1lb. Better than nothing but I was hoping for more. Maybe this week I’ll lose a bit more.
Food plan for today is
B Greek yogurt
L eggs mashed up with butter
D meatballs with veg, I might try to make my own courgetti...

Figrus2 · 19/04/2021 08:37

5.5 lbs. I'm thrilled. Thanks BIWI and everyone else for support and inspiration.

colouringindoors · 19/04/2021 08:53

Down 4lb and one inch on waist 😊.

Had to tighten bra straps too (less good for me but hey ho!)

Hoping for a spectacular week 2 but v pleased with this start.

Moonswimmer · 19/04/2021 08:56

Also, bookmarking is brilliant and a revelation almost to the same degree as low carbing is! So thank you to these threads for that as well :)

Nateismine · 19/04/2021 08:59

Down 6lbs which I'm delighted with. This WOE feels sustainable for me. As long as I have cheese I am happy!
Should we expect decent weight loss in week 2 or does it tend to slow down?
B- Greek yogurt
L- tuna and avocado salad
D- mullet fillets and cauliflower cheese

venusandmars · 19/04/2021 09:17

@Nateismine if this is your first time low carbing then the biggest loss is usually in the first week, week 2 is not bad, then weeks 3/4 are notorious for staying around the same. However, this is really about your body adapting properly to this way of eating and consolidating what you have achieved. Especially important in those weeks to keep on, things do pick up again.

I've had a 0.6lb loss. Close to goal weight so every ounce helps. I've got to be super strict this week because there are a lot of potential hurdles the following week.

Food today:
B - creamy coffee, sausage and red pepper patties
L - poached egg, spinach, avocado
D - salmon wrapped in prosciutto, FLGV

Rayna37 · 19/04/2021 09:20

4 lbs off for me which is great considering I'm on the first day of my period so normally carry an extra lb for that. However I did start on a post carby-weekend high so really just back to where I was a couple of weeks ago.

Also sobering to realise such a great loss still leaves me firmly the wrong side of 9 stone.

Good week of meals planned, I look forward to hearing about yours! Well done losers.

"Top Tip": If you access the spreadsheet via the sheets app it will just be there for you when you open the app, no need to worry about links etc.

MotherBuckets · 19/04/2021 09:20

Yay for everyone with losses big and small! I'm sticking to Friday weigh-ins (and only jumped in on Thursday so not enough to report yet!) but have managed a crisps/chips/chocolate/booze-free weekend so feeling good about that.

HOW had I never eaten chicken alfredo before though???? OMG it was one of the nicest things I have ever tasted 😍

TheHoover · 19/04/2021 09:31

Morning!
Congrats on the amazing losses and to those kokoing with little or no losses

Flowers to zigg

2.5lb down here and 1inch off my waist. All good.

FinallyHere · 19/04/2021 09:32

Zigzag thinking of you and your DF
