The final weigh-in thread: March 2021 Low Carb Bootcamp

Here's the spreadsheet

I think this has been a really fantastic Bootcamp. Lots of really great losses.

As well as that, though, like every Bootcamp I'm always amazed and often humbled by how much we get to know people. We may all be here because we're trying to lose weight, but there's so much more going on in people's lives.

Tomorrow is the final weigh-in, but I hope very much that people will continue to check in and update us all on 'their journey' (sorry for the cliché)

Morning all - incredible hearing the round up of what everyone has achieved, even those staying more or less that same as maintenance is hard too and so much better than creeping upwards.

I STS this week, which I need to get used to now I am so close to goal. That's 13lb this Bootcamp and 40 in total.
Couldn't be happier.

Thanks everyone

Midlifemission · 29/03/2021 12:51

@AthelstaneTheUnready

Bearing in mind lots of people haven't recorded on the spreadsheet...

... of those who have, we've lost nearly 665lbs between us.

about 47.5 stones

about 5 people.

Not 'in total' - just during this bootcamp. Flowers to you all.

What a brilliant perspective ! Well done one and all.
Pleaseandthankyou · 29/03/2021 12:51

Thanks @BIWI and everyone else who posts on here. I haven’t been posting in the spreadsheet but I have lost 1 stone since the October boot camp. I can now buy a size 12 online and be sure it will fit. My bmi is in the 25s. 5 more pounds will get me into the 24s. I am delighted as I am going through a very late menopause and my waist is decreasing not increasing. The low carb bread is brilliant for me as I can take a sandwich to work. I will be joining to next bootcamp to make sure I don’t start increasing. I put 6lbs on over Christmas so I have had to lose those twice!

Oneborneverydecade · 29/03/2021 13:15

I'm up 4lb this week after our anniversary meal and chocolate brownie etc Frustrating as until this week I had lost 9lb this BC, but I've only myself to blame.
Well done everyone and thank you everyone but especially @BIWI

Oneborneverydecade · 29/03/2021 13:18

Thank you for your kind words over the weekend @BustleInYourHedgerow Flowers

BIWI · 29/03/2021 13:20

47.5 stones Shock

Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant.

Thanks for the statistic @AthelstaneTheUnready!

(And thank you for the sterling job that you always do with the spreadsheet. Now, about 12 April ... Grin)

AthelstaneTheUnready · 29/03/2021 13:29

it'll be more than that, with all the non-sheeters, BIWI Smile

Sure, April 12th... just need a tiny favour in return if you COULD SHOOT MY LEGAL DEPARTMENT FOR ME GETTING ON MY ONE REMAINING NEURONE TODAY.

And breathe.

Thankfully, my food is on course DESPITE LEGAL as I'm gradually moving towards producing more of a crustless quiche than my earlier scrambled-egg-watery-soup attempts were. Today's is actually, well, quite pleasant Confused

BIWI · 29/03/2021 13:30

In which direction should I point @AthelstaneTheUnready?

OP posts:

All of 'em fuckers

And then possibly me, as it may make my head actually feel better Grin

nowlook · 29/03/2021 13:34

It's a thankless task being a lawyer Athelstane...I'm sure they were only trying to help/prevent something terrible (albeit unlikely) happening Grin

Is it the same one who had a strop and went home when you were facing a project deadline last time?

AthelstaneTheUnready · 29/03/2021 13:41

different one, nowlook.

publication date today.

today, announces all previous advice void, can't be published, death doom and disaster all round.

mentioning this TWO YEARS' AGO would have helped enormously.

Today's earrings: wee silver ones that I bought in Greece when I interrailing around Europe as a student (so either 1980 or 1981 )

Newly de-tarnished thanks to StuntNun who inspired me to look up the aluminium foil and bicarbonate of soda technique Smile. Do a small bowl full of various small items (including the silver "knots" that I wore earlier this month).

Now that I'm confident about it, I'll try the technique on my vintage Jensen bracelet and earrings (they're clip-ons so I've not included them in the challenge). Smile

Ninkanink · 29/03/2021 13:52

Oh @prettybird they deserve to be included...(BIG Georg Jensen fan, as you know!)...at least as a bonus! 😊

prettybird · 29/03/2021 14:00

They're not actually silver marked as Jensen but supposedly they were taken out to South Africa by my great grandfather in the 1930s for my grandmother and the story as relayed to me by my aunt (when she passed them on to me) was that they were Jensen. The silver mark has worn off and all you can see is a bit of "Denmark". They were actually a longer necklace which either my granny or my aunt split into two bracelets (I think) to make it more useable, plus the earrings.

I might do them as a "bonus" after the March challenge. Smile

MrsOmelette · 29/03/2021 14:09

@AthelstaneTheUnready that’s amazing!

On a more serious note: sorry- that sounds really shite Flowers

Hopeislost · 29/03/2021 14:26

Some amazing results - well done everybody! Thanks

I am down 5.5lbs this bootcamp, but like @StuntNun I have been weight lifting and have definitely gained some muscle. I'm just over a stone away from a healthy BMI so will keep chipping away at it!

BustleInYourHedgerow · 29/03/2021 14:26

Oh @Oneborneverydecade that's a shame. But could well be water weight.

I'm down 4lbs on last week! I gained a lb last week and sts the two weeks previous, so I'm really happy.

Thanks so much to everyone for your advice, time and support. I'm going to have a gun and tonic tonight and then KOKO. Actually scratch that, a gin and soda water as I realised tonic water is very sweet and I don't even like it that much.

I've lost 10lbs in total in the 10 weeks I've been doing bootcamp. I was worried last week that it just wasn't working for me... but it is. I just needed to KOKO and trust the process. I'm really enjoying this WOE. It takes the stress out of it for me. Its easy and I find I am less obsessive about food than I would be if I cut calories. When I cut calories I think about food alllll the time. I have no cravings.I feel really free, almost like when I managed to finally quit smoking.

Thank you so much to everyone, what a lovely corner of the Internet this is. Flowers

I lost 2lbs this bootcamp but thats fine as I don't have too much - 10lbs - to get back in my clothes.
I struggled for ages to get my head round everything but it seemed to click in the last couple of weeks so I'm fired up for the next bootcamp.
If it wasn't for this thread I would have given up long ago - thank you!!

ditavonteesed · 29/03/2021 17:20

I was a carby twat at work on Saturday night and have a paid the price with a sts. Fully deserved and I'm back on it now.
Well done on the losses everyone and thanks a million times over to @BIWI.

nowlook · 29/03/2021 17:37

I really feel for you dita (and anyone else who has been going in to work). I've found this BC much easier being at home. Went out to a client last week and pretended I'd had a massive breakfast so wasn't ready for the sandwiches and crisps. They insisted I take them home Grin, so drove them 100 miles and DH hoovered them up instead!

ouchmyfeet · 29/03/2021 17:50

I know what you mean @nowlook . This is my first bootcamp but I've often thought how much harder it will be to make sensible choices when I'm working outside the home. I normally travel a lot, lots of train breakfasts (read croissants) and sandwiches. Going to have to be more prepared when life starts to get back to normal!

ditavonteesed · 29/03/2021 18:03

I'm normally quite good, there are always chocolate and biscuits and things around at work, the hospital have been providing us with snacks but they are all flapjack or muffins etc. However it was one of my colleagues last day and she made cookie cake and rocky road and all sorts of amazing treats and I just couldn't find my willpower. I like that with this woe you see the price immediately so can make a decision that it's not worth it and get right back on it.
