Morning all. Sorry for the late start to the thread, but I slept in. Then hungry cats had to be fed before I could deal with this!

Anyway here's the spreadsheet for its penultimate outing

Hopefully all good news to report - but never fear, if last week hasn't been great, you still have a few days left to sort that.

Looks like it's going to be a more settled week weather-wise, and hopefully we really will be seeing more and more signs of spring to cheer us all up.

Here's to a great last week Flowers

I've sort of stuck to my challenges, most successfully with the C25K. Week 4 run 2 tonight. I realised this week that I have done any cardio regularly for 15 years or so... no wonder it's so hard.
Good luck @BIWI
Love your wedding photos @prettybird you look really pretty

BIWI · 26/03/2021 16:16

Thanks @Oneborneverydecade!

W5R1 done Smile

Knees seem to holding up ok, but I'm going to take some aspirin just in case ...

Biwi ‘splendid thinnery’ Grin

Prettybird apart from a beautiful dress, that’s a lovely memory for you of your mum making it.
Venusandmars oh I won’t give up, it doesn’t happen like that, but eventually the time comes when you’ve lost all the weight your body is happy letting you lose, and you go on and on in the same way and eventually put some weight on because you get older, or do less exercise, or have too many ‘bad’ days, or no reason at all, and then slowly but surely your motivation to eat well is reduced and you’re on the slippery slope to hell Confused

When I say you I mean me, obviously Grin

RagzReturnsRebooted · 26/03/2021 17:21

@venusansmars this is mine for the last 9 years. Similar story but I'm still at the top of the latest mountain!

Look at all the fancy charts!

Carpet's in and is already very rippled Confused and getting worse by the hour. Apparently, because it's wool, the bloody thing should have been allowed to breathe or some such shite before laying. So, they have to come back. In brighter news, the bed's in and made, so we have somewhere to sleep. No lights or curtains, but the TV seemed to find its way onto the wall easily enough Hmm

Ooh I love the charts! This is mine since I found Bootcamp (May 2020).

That's incredible Hope! Bloody well done Star

Two more days until I have to force myself to get on the scales. Slightly bothered by it, but what's the worst that can happen? They're not going to pipe up with "one at a time, please", so I'm being daft.

Just a data point. Just a data point Grin

venusandmars · 26/03/2021 21:29

Ooh @Hopeislost that's a good chart because it shows the variation, but evens it out. So it looks like there was a point in July when you were higher than anything in June... but that's life (hey!) and month by month it was a steady decrease.

@nowlook you know you don't even have to get on the scales if you don't want to. You know you've done OK, you know that your body is feeling better. Who really cares about a number?

Well of course, we know you do... because our live have been driven by that kind of measure for so long. But do you feel well? And better and taller and stronger? Do you feel that this way of eating suits your body and how it likes to work? Can you make all of that balance with your family and life? YES??

YES??

Then just go for it. And to hell with the numbers.

StuntNun · 26/03/2021 23:59

I made homemade pork scratchings tonight for our family movie night. So much nicer when they're still warm! I had salt and vinegar on mine.

@MilesJuppIsMyBitch that link looks good going to give it a go next week, I really miss pirates class!

@prettybird beautiful wedding photos

@venusandmars thanks for sharing the graph. Very inspiring and shows what KOKO can do!

B: eggs and an avocado
L: (more of a snack when I woke up as I was starving) chicken slices and celery sticks dipped in mayo
D: fathead pizza (only managed half) rocket and cucumber salad
Snack in work later: Greek yoghurt, raspberries
Two cups of tea with cream

ditavonteesed · 27/03/2021 07:03

My graphs because I love a good graph. I don't weigh myself unless I'm on it which is why the middle is one straight going up line. I did boot camp last year until the first lockdown and then lost my mojo.

This pork scratchings look heavenly.

@prettybird what a beautiful dress and how amazing that your mum made it.

ouchmyfeet · 27/03/2021 07:09

Love that graph @Hopeislost

I have gone a bit off piste but not too disastrous hopefully. We finally agreed a deal on a new house yesterday. It has been a stressful couple of weeks and I had more than a single G&T for the first time since I started bootcamp. They were both single measures with skinny tonic and were very much needed and enjoyed, felt very indulgent.

We decided to have a celebratory takeaway.
I vetoed pizza (as I have done for the last 2months) and the kids next choice was a lovely pasta place. I didn't have the heart (or strength ) to double veto so went with it. I had the only non pasta/rice on the menu and no pud so could have been much worse.

L: cabbage carbonara
D: 2 G&Ts, chicken wings, lamb meatballs and fennel side salad

The meatballs had a gorgeous crumbly topping on them that looked very bready, I managed not to eat it all.

Watching them all tuck into my favourite food was the first time I've had food envy since I started bootcamp. But my food was delicious too and it made me realise that it really wasn't a big deal, I can survive without pasta!

Still feel stuffed this morning, might not bother stepping on the scales today Blush

Timetobuckup · 27/03/2021 07:46

I just wanted to say hi to everyone as I have spent the last 30 mins looking over some of the threads for inspiration.

Carbs are my nemesis when it comes to weight so I think going low carb is the best way for me to try and lose the 4 stone I am carrying around with me.

The spreadsheet is a thing of beauty, very impressive. Loving the graphs as well. I am off to dig out a new shiny notebook.

I am going to spend the weekend getting prepared and make some shopping lists and meal plans. When is the new bootcamp starting or can I just jump in here and join you for the end of this one ?

I am nervous about it, as you can imagine being 4 stone overweight I have attempted to lose weight many times. To get to a point where I can just wear clothes because I like them rather than because they fit would be great.

StuntNun · 27/03/2021 08:44

Jump right in Timetobuckup we're just finishing this Bootcamp but the threads continue in between times so you'll still get all the support you need. Planning definitely helps and make sure you have plenty of snacks for your first week or two. When I first went low carb I kept a pack of Peperamis in the car for emergencies! Blush Healthier snack options are also available!

Ifeelmuchlessfat · 27/03/2021 08:47

Timetobuckup welcome! You’ve come to the right place. I was literally where you are now a year ago and have lost four stone and a pound or two. After a lifetime of being obese (not an exaggeration) and a bmi of 35+ I’m now at a bmi of 26 and soooooo close to not even being overweight. All due to this boot camp.

I’ve had a few boozy weekends in the last year, and some chocolates, and even a few sandwiches (thanks to the Seriously Low Carb people) but mainly I eat good, delicious food and never feel deprived.

I think you’ll find this particular camp is officially ending this weekend but the chat will continue, everyone is lovely and really helpful and you can start it off yourself by reading the ‘rules’ and looking at the recipe ideas. Then you’ll have got the hang of it by April 12yh when the new camp starts.
Good luck, keep on keeping on, (koko) and drink lots of water Wink

BIWI · 27/03/2021 09:17

Welcome @Timetobuckup

And what they said!

Just jump in - no time like the present. Get yourself sorted in terms of shopping and meal planning, and then just start. Although this Bootcamp ends this week, I always keep a chat thread going, so there will be lots of support and general chatting.

The next Bootcamp starts on 12 April.

ouchmyfeet · 27/03/2021 09:21

@Timetobuckup As a relative newbie I would say do jump in. This is a really supportive group of posters. I have a lot to lose (more than double what you're aiming for) so completely understand that it can be overwhelming.

Just plan carefully, expect to feel rubbish for the first few days and crack on. I've lost 2 stone since 18th jan and it has been the easiest I have ever lost. I can definitely keep this up long term (after 20 years of diets).

cheeseisthebest · 27/03/2021 09:28

Welcome!
This is such a lovely group and if you do it, it works! I've lost 11lb this bootcamp and going to carry on.

Remember
WATER!!!!!!

ouchmyfeet · 27/03/2021 09:31

WARNING - embarrassing soppy post alert

And given that we are coming to the end of this bootcamp I really want to say thank you to the posters who have made it so effortless for me, you honestly have changed my life and I couldn't be more grateful. I'm sure I will forget a few but I have eternal gratitude to so many of you for your collective efforts* @StuntNun @ShagMeRiggins @venusandmars @cheeseisthebest @ListenLinda @Lyrata @AthelstaneTheUnready @RagzReturnsRebooted @prettybird @MilesJuppIsMyBitch @Oneborneverydecade @nowlook @Doilooklikeatourist and of course @BIWI*

Dailyhandtowelwash · 27/03/2021 09:33

@Timetobuckup welcome, and enjoy!

Lovely, lovely graphs.

Am attaching last night’s menu. Grin I had crab, mushroom, turbot and ice cream sandwich. Not hugely carby bar the focaccia, the ‘bun’ which was brioche, and the pudding. I had a single glass of wine and also a non-alcoholic ‘champagne’ which tasted very similar to the real thing. Yet to weigh but am going to punt on enough bread bloat to add 2lbs.

BIWI · 27/03/2021 09:33

I'd like to thank my parents, my lovely husband ... Grin

Flowers @ouchmyfeet. But as I always point out, you're the one who has done the hard work!

Week 10 - Low Carb Bootcamp - the finishing line!
Dailyhandtowelwash · 27/03/2021 09:43

Weighed. 2lbs down. Shock

@BIWI I wonder how many lost pounds the boot camp is responsible for in total?

venusandmars · 27/03/2021 10:03

@Dailyhandtowelwash Oh I love hearing about your meals out. It's what I really miss, sitting in a nice restaurant (whether that's lunch time overlooking a sunny coast, an evening with friends in a buzzy busy noisy happy place, or a warm romantic idyll). I miss walking in and smelling the aroma of garlic and oil and cooking. I miss perusing a menu and deliberating over the decision. I miss someone bringing me food and clearing the empty plates...

We've got a lovely cook at home meal ordered for next weekend, and although the food will be delicious it doesn't quite hit the spot on so many of the other parts of dining out. However, restaurants open here on 26th April and I've got a business meeting / lunch arranged for a brilliant French place on 27th.

And I know that all the above is a spoilt 1st world issue when others have so much more serious hardships Blush

I sometimes find that with excess carbs it is not the next day but the following one that my weight fluctuates. So be careful today...

B - creamy coffee and reading the newspapers, followed by a walk in the breezy sunshine
L - leftover slow cooked gammon, broccoli with butter and roast carrot
D - salmon and a huge salad with red cabbage / asian slaw

Dailyhandtowelwash · 27/03/2021 10:10

@venusandmars it won’t be long and I totally agree with you. It’s lovely to have all the usual restaurant things back here. Some of them are being quite oppressive with the rules which makes it a bit strained but others are doing it nicely.
