Morning all. Sorry for the late start to the thread, but I slept in. Then hungry cats had to be fed before I could deal with this!

Anyway here's the spreadsheet for its penultimate outing

Hopefully all good news to report - but never fear, if last week hasn't been great, you still have a few days left to sort that.

Looks like it's going to be a more settled week weather-wise, and hopefully we really will be seeing more and more signs of spring to cheer us all up.

Here's to a great last week Flowers

Shhhhhh - only a tiny bit of my long hoped for woosh has gone back on...

Im so impressed by the earring challenge still progressing. I have a 'squeaky' knee at times so abandoned my squat challenge after a week woops.

Lovely smoked salmon, asparagus and avo salad with a homemade sour cream / lemon and dill oil (new purchase!) dressing.

Still hungry so going to have some Greek yog

No kids for tea as they're at my parents so planing on some kind of aubergine / courgette / tomato / cheese bake affair with cabbage.

Hopeislost · 25/03/2021 14:40

Some great NSVs on here! I have been feeling demotivated seeing other people's great losses when I am barely trudging along. But we had rain this morning so I dug out my rain jacket from last spring and it is enormous on me! A timely reminder of just how far I've come I think. So I've just ordered myself a nice new Joules raincoat 3 sizes smaller!

MrsOmelette · 25/03/2021 14:48

@BIWI you’re right but I hadn’t said that to my teenager who surprised me with it this morning knowing I’d had another hard night, bless her! I’ve explained now, and we’ve had a lively chat about health, “treats” and food and so on that I’m hoping will be positive for her. (She wasn’t even trying to get me to let her have one for breakfast, she loves her porridge - simply was a caring gesture from a teen 🥰)

MrsOmelette · 25/03/2021 14:48

Lovely not lively. Though it was both I suppose.

prettybird · 25/03/2021 14:56

I've taken over 10 weeks (I started a week early) to lose 8lb and get back to where I was just before Christmas Shock I lost c5lb quite quickly and then I just oscillated +/- (mostly + Hmm) 2-3lb Confused

Anyway, it's off now and I just need to stay focussed to keep it off Grin and maybe lose 3lb in the next 12 days Wink

Water, water, water!!!!

So for anyone despairing at lack of progress, the message is to keep the faith and KOKO Halo

cheeseisthebest · 25/03/2021 15:31

I've been rubbish lately, just not in the right headspace. Very stressed with work still and dreadful backache from working at home. Feels a bit like the past year is catching up with me a bit.
Any suggestions for how I can give myself a shake and KOKO?
Even the thought of putting washing on feels overwhelming at the moment.

cheeseisthebest · 25/03/2021 15:31

Oh and I'm having plenty of sleep.

StuntNun · 25/03/2021 16:06

DH has been dispatched to Sainsburys to buy duck! Grin

That dress is beautiful Prettybird and so flattering on you.

I thought I was scraping the bottom of the metaphorical earring barrel with today's earrings as they are Blue John which isn't the prettiest stone. But actually they look rather nice and I'm going to wear them more often. I have a matching necklace too. I'm also up to 2 minutes 10 seconds on the plank challenge. My physiotherapist has added in side planks this week - crikey they're hard! Still as long as it sorts out my scapula it will all be worth it.

Week 10 - Low Carb Bootcamp - the finishing line!
Ninkanink · 25/03/2021 16:12

@cheeseisthebest my suggestion is to prioritise, if you can, your self care for the next few weeks. Is there anything you can do to take time out from the stress?

cheeseisthebest · 25/03/2021 16:56

Thank you. I've booked a week off work Easter week. Much needed. I'm not very good at switching off from work.
Anyone know what I can to help my back ache?

ouchmyfeet · 25/03/2021 17:13

A bath always helps me @cheeseisthebest, both for a bad back and just general de-stressing.

I did have a phase of awful lower back pain a couple of years ago and all my doctor could advise was losing weight Hmm

cheeseisthebest · 25/03/2021 17:23

How unhelpful of your doctor! I'm only half a stone over a healthy BMI so dont think it's that. Just constantly on a screen without a proper chair or office set up.
We are lucky enough to have a sauna and a hot tub so might get in those later.

BIWI · 25/03/2021 17:34

How about some yoga or pilates exercises? Some gentle stretches?

Also, anti-inflammatories (assuming you're not already taking them!) would be a good idea.

Cheeseisthebest I have osteoarthritic degeneration of the lower spine and I did Pilates for years which kept me moving and relatively pain free. It was noticeable how much worse my back got in the summer when there weren't any classes for six weeks. Since I started weight training though my back has got even better again, I'm completely pain free at the moment.

pinkpinkeverywhere · 25/03/2021 17:59

I had awful backache recently from wfh @cheeseisthebest and I had to go and fetch an office chair from the office as the dining room chairs just aren't supportive enough. I find a rolled up hand towel in the base of my back keeps my posture better. I also use a back roller and was doing lots of stretching exercises a few times I day. I do a pilates class every week and found doing those stretches really helped.

In annoying bad news today: I pricked out some pepper seedlings (for dh to eat the fruits thereof, not me Wink I'm a nice wife Grin) and as I put the tray with 9 seedlings onto the window sill, it tipped over and spilled half of them over the floor and over the bread (dust) bin that is beside the windowsill. Shock

Fortunately, the good news is that none of the stems broke and although I was tight for time, as I needed to walk down to get my jag, I managed to get them sorted. There was a bit of clearing up to do, which dh offered to do, but while he was getting me a coffee (to calm me down Wink) I swept up some of the spilt compost that had landed on the kitchen floor......

The good news is that as I was sweeping under the windowsill, behind the flour bin (a big white Ikea dustbin) and in the corner beside the baseboard of the kitchen units, with shelves that overhang was.......

.....my missing "wedding" earring ShockSmileSmileSmile

Guess what earrings I'll be wearing for tomorrow's earring challenge?! Wink Grin

prettybird · 25/03/2021 18:57

Love those earrings on you @stuntnun

You look like you have lovely hair too Smile

I have backache at the moment, had it last the start of the month for less than a week and thought I'd seen it off and now it's back. Haven't bothered the GP as I know it's most likely overweight, underfit and poor posture. Printed off an exercise sheet from an NHS thing, so will try those. Awful, burning pain though, seems to start in the afternoon and get worse but it was starting after work and no I'm getting it at work as well. Too much sitting! I'm on the ibuprofen (with codeine in) so that won't be helping the weight. @cheeseisthebest I've put some Biofreeze on this evening and it's really helping so I'd recommend that. It's a cryogel and great for back and muscle pain.
RagzReturnsRebooted · 25/03/2021 19:27

Dinner the last two nights has been lamb chops, Cauliflower cheese and shoogled sprouts. I have enjoyed it so much it's my new favourite meal. Lamb fat airfried is the best thing ever.

cheeseisthebest · 25/03/2021 19:30

Where can I get biofreeze from?

Tickledtrout · 25/03/2021 19:35

@cheeseisthebest
www.nhs.uk/conditions/nhs-fitness-studio/chronic-back-pain-pilates-exercise-video/
Wish I'd found this before I forked out on private physio.
Just getting inspiration from you lot before I kick off my next effort

StuntNun · 25/03/2021 19:43

Cheeseisthebest you can buy Biofreeze at the chemists. 10% Ibuprofen gel is good too.

cheeseisthebest · 25/03/2021 19:51

Thank you. Just ache all over and feel totally fed up!

Oh my goodness! I knew you’d find it! But I didn’t think it’d be so soon...

Also I forgot that you call it a ‘jag’ in Scotland so I thought that was pretty swish, going to pick up a new jaguar...

prettybird · 25/03/2021 20:07

....if only! Grin

We need to get a "new" car (the mechanic at the great wee garage we go to is refusing to do expensive work on our car as he says it's not worth spending money on (it made it through its MOT last September ish but he didn't think it would...) but we're waiting on either dh to get his share of his mother's estate or for me to get my lump sum from my ICI pension (but I only sent the forms off last week Blush) - whichever comes first.
