Morning all.

So we're entering the last four weeks. Still time to lose a good few pounds before we reach the end.

here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

I can see already that we've had some great results, and look forward to seeing/hearing about the rest!

@MrsKoala
You see?! I'd never heard of that Becca woman! But they all kept saying it. Fortunately, I'm au fait with an Hourglass ambient powder, but the boy brow from Glossier was hitherto unknown. It arrives tomorrow.

MrsKoala · 09/07/2020 18:32

Ooh do let me know how it is. I use benefit brow stuff which is good but I’m always up for trying new things. I started having a lash lift and tint and eyebrow tint 6 months ago and it really made a huge difference. I’m always looking for a good mascara because I find they all look clumpy on me no matter what, but the tint and lift really made the most of what I had and meant just 1 coat of waterproof mascara was all I needed without making me look like I had false lashes on for the school run.

nowlook · 09/07/2020 18:41

Right. Apologies @BIWI, I know this is off-topic. You've heard me bang on before about the Vivienne Westwood gold label corset dress, previously owned by Katie Melua. I bought it very drunk at a charity auction in 2014.

It stares at me unblinking from the wardrobe.

Do any of the people on this thread have DDs/ DDs of RL friends that are a true size 8 (in old money, not Next) and that are a bit more alternative in their dress? It needs to be worn.

Hallelujah, I've pooped.

Laska- nope, I'm a business owner essentially i paid someone to do a job and they've done it so spectacularly fucking wrong and illegally that there's a good chance I'll lose aforementioned business now.

MrsKoala · 09/07/2020 18:45

Omg that is gorgeous. You can’t get rid of it! Can’t you frame it or put it on a mannequin?

Takingontheworld · 09/07/2020 18:47

This!
nowlook · 09/07/2020 18:56

@Takingontheworld
Send me a message, ffs! I'm also a business owner, but I happen to be a lawyer too.

Re: the dress. Yes, it's amazing. It's worth about 1k now apparently. BUT. I just have this romantic notion of a goth girl ignored by the masses turning up to her graduation ball or similar in this and DMs Grin Grin

Even at my slimmest, I could get in it. My sister got in it once after a particularly nasty case of....bacterial meningitis. Not worth it, right?

It's a perfect khaki in real life. Sigh.

MrsKoala · 09/07/2020 19:04

I think you need to fashion it as a hat. There is no way you can let that go.

lurknolinger · 09/07/2020 19:05

Wow that dress is stunning.
@Takingontheworld so sorry to hear that, I hope you don't lose your business due to someone else's actions, and hope there is a way round this for the accountability to be laid squarely where it should be.

Sorry to divert the thread but can anyone point me in the direction of the broccoli and halloumi tray back please, I thought I'd saved it but can't find it Confused

Got it @Takingontheworld and have replied.

It's always darkest before the dawn. But sometimes you don't have to wait for the dawn. Sometimes you just need someone who will walk beside you, swinging a torch, with a mad glint in their eye, singing "someone's gonna get it"

(the best advice I ever had from another lawyer about a hundred years ago)

BIWI · 09/07/2020 19:58

I'm loving all the S&B and dress talk!

@nowlook never, ever worry about derailing the thread - it's part of what makes these Bootcamp threads so special.

And I so very much hope that you can help @Takingontheworld Flowers

The glossier boy brow is fab nowlook and that dress is beautiful. Glossier lip balms are lovely too and I’ve just started using a couple of their skin products. My dd 15 also likes their stuff, good for all ages.

Congratulations taking on the poop. Really hope you manage to salvage something out of the situation with your business. Fingers crossed nowlook can help.

nowlook · 09/07/2020 20:16

Never mind all that @Rshard...is your DD a waif-like emo who has Helena Bonham Carter as her style icon?

My arty niece is 14 next week. I bought her loads of paints at the start of lockdown for her birthday, but I think she'll be expecting something else Grin (and, no, she can't have the dress; my sister will have it on ebay before I can say Happy Birthday).

Would the Glossier stuff get round the no make-up rule at school, do you think?

BrassicaBabe · 09/07/2020 20:36

Just catching up.

Wow what a rule breaking bunch we are when it comes to online pharmacies. I feel quite heartened Smile

Re the Willpower allocation. Think sleep is maybe the answer!

Taking ThanksI'm pretty sure stress does evil things on the scales as well. Just to add insult to injury! Do hope you can lean on folks here for help.

nowlook I remember when I was a 14-16 I could still get into next 12 jeans Grin

BrassicaBabe · 09/07/2020 20:42

I've got a heap of rhubarb. Any idea what I should do it it. (Not gin for now 🤦🏻‍♀️). Go to would be to stew it with artificial sweeteners and ginger.

nowlook · 09/07/2020 20:54

@BrassicaBabe I had a pair of size 6 cigarette trews from Next when I was 9 stone (at 5 foot 3). Paul Smith had other ideas...reckoned I was a 10, the misogynistic bastard.

No idea on the rhubarb. Might you show it at the village fair? Grin

OneFootintheRave · 09/07/2020 21:28

Evening all. I have found this WOE does lead to less frequent and far "neater" poos. I've not been constipated as such, just going less frequently which is a bonus as I camp a lot. Someone on an older thread reference glycerine suppositories which sounded effective though.

On a side note, I am now a big fan of ibuprofen suppositories. They just work so much quicker and if I'm feeling nauseous, there's no chance of throwing them up.

Tonight I have terrible metal, KETO mouth. Usually I tell myself this is good, this is you burning fat but it's horrid tonight!

venusandmars · 09/07/2020 21:55

Brassica rhubarb with orange zest, tiny squeeze of orange juice, freshly grated ginger, maybe some cloves or star anise (gives a sweet taste) and if you need it a miniscule amount of low carb sweetener.

Then take a huge bowl of double cream and beat it thick. swirl the rhubarb compote into it. The cream is naturally sweet. The whole thing is delicious.

And have I mentioned that rhubarb is actually a vegetable, and obviously very good for you

My MIL once shared a recipe for a chilled rhubarb, parsnip and ginger soup. I loved it but my dd's thought it was disgusting Grin. I think the same thing might work with rhubarb, celeriac and ginger...

I also made a cooked red cabbage thing which included rhubarb. It was very good.

venusandmars · 09/07/2020 21:58

nowlook I have 2 skinny-mini dd age 27 and 32. But they are short in stature, and I imagine that dress would have a waist which was around their thighs, and the asymmetric hem skimming the floor! Plus one wouldn't be seen dead in anything that 'showed off her body'. The other would rather show off her body and not wear a dress!!!

MrsKoala · 09/07/2020 21:59

So now I am jealous of langoustines AND rhubarb. I bloody love rhubarb. I do a kind of compote and make rhubarb fool with Greek yogurt. Maybe top with toasted flaked almonds. Mmmmmmmm

Rshard · 09/07/2020 22:00

Afraid not nowlook, she’s a blonde 5’7” swimmer with muscles to die for. So the opposite, although she does love HBC as Bellatrix. I’m pretty sure dd wears the odd bit to school, but not plastered in it.

What about a rhubarb fool brassica? Or a rhubarb meringue type thing? Can you make meringue without sweetener? Almond pastry case.
