Morning all.

So we're entering the last four weeks. Still time to lose a good few pounds before we reach the end.

here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

I can see already that we've had some great results, and look forward to seeing/hearing about the rest!

Yes brassica! And it always catches me out a bit, i seem to peak before I run out, i should pay closer attention to that pattern actually. I tend to find having "one day off" and then reminding myself why I'm doing this gets me back on track and replenished farrr faster than fighting and fighting because then I tend not to be doing it very well.. little slips over a period of days + which prolongs the pain and delays the progress further. But thats just me and you've gotta be pretty sure you ARE gonna get back on track properly immediately after.

I'm gonna check in on the scales this morning. Maybe. See how bad it is. Even though i barely ate the kebab I'm still feeling shitty about it (not sure if the nausea is kebab or stress related though) but the mikado sticks and chocolate animal faces and mini pork pie will have defiiiiinitly pushed me out of ketosis. Maybe I'll also pee on a keto stick.

Yesterday was perfect food wise, if a little cheese heavy. Aiming for another good day today.

Bit worried about this weekend. Need to plan some meals for the Self catering place and plan ahead. Needs to be simple and easy as we all know how poorly stocked the utensils are in rented places!

nowlook · 09/07/2020 07:33

@BrassicaBabe
I'm the same with psoriasis treatments. Mine is mild and comes and goes. I know that a combination of Dovobet and a uvb sunbed works for me. I'm not going to waste time at the docs while they try less powerful stuff first. Online pharmacy all the way here!

I wonder how many of us do the same with our minor skin complaints. I bet it's mainly women...

Laska2Meryls · 09/07/2020 08:19

Remember those fab ( well I think they are) Marks and Spencer cheese and celery sandwiches?
Well last night I made LC alike-version and it was so good im doing it again ( maybe tonight!).
Difference was that ( apart from bread of course!) I added egg. So chopped egg mayo , grated vintage cheddar , lots of chopped celery , 1 spring onion , pepper mooshed up and dolloped onto baby gem lettuce leaves ! Yum yum yum yum.

Also good that I have woken up to another pound down !

nowlook · 09/07/2020 08:39

@Laska2Meryls
Sounds lush! Puts me in mind of cheese savoury sandwich filling (my go-to in service stations when on the road and avoiding what's loosely badged as "meat")

Great news on the scales for you. A lb down here too! I'm only week five, so this is my favourite week after the doldrums of 3 and 4.

nowlook · 09/07/2020 08:41

...Anyone else wondering what Jullyria had to say in the early hours? If she was a Juiceplus or similar bot, I'm sorry to have missed her Grin

Ifeelfat · 09/07/2020 08:57

Morning all

Apologies for this but I need to ask you all about poo. This WOE is perfect for me in every other respect but this low level constipation is getting me down, I thought it would be over by now but I’m just not getting enough fibre.

I’ve tried yoga, psyllium, loads of water, coffee, olive oil, lemons, I walk at least 10k steps a day. I eat FLGV, spinach, broccoli, cabbage with every meal... Last week I had to take medication after about 10 days and I’m currently on a week and nothing...

I don’t want to keep taking meds but how are people staying regular on lower fibre diets? I think the lack of (too much) wine and fruit and nuts & seeds is really affecting my digestion. Any ideas pleeeeeeese??

Takingontheworld · 09/07/2020 11:46

Ifeelfat, eurgh I'm sorry. I don't know, but I'm on my 2nd time of being unable to poop. It usually resolves in 48 hours but i previously had IBS symptoms so not being as frequent/as easy is weird and unenjoyable on the oposite end of scale!

I'm up 2lbs. Pretty heartbroken and feels a bit harsh given what i ate was bad but not THAT bad. but maybe because I can't poop too. I'll KOKO.

venusandmars · 09/07/2020 12:12

Takingontheworld So don't over-stress about the 2lb It is most likely that your glycogen stores have been replenished. And that means that the cells also store water. I copied something here:

Glycogen is the storage form of glucose in muscle. Each gram of glycogen requires 2 grams of water in order to be deposited in the muscle tissue. Without the glycogen, the water is not needed and is excreted in the urine.

That means you have NOT put on 2 pounds of fat, you've just stored some extra water. Get back onto BC rules and drink lots of water. Know that when you are peeing like a horse, you are losing that 2 pounds of water. It will soon be gone.

venusandmars · 09/07/2020 12:18

Change of plan for food today. The local prawn boat was out overnight, so I was at the harbour at 8am to buy a humungous bag of langoustines - they are about quarter the price direct from the boat compared to the local fishmonger. I'll have some freshly cooked with salad for lunch (with some egg, mayonnaise and avocado to keep the fats up), then the rest for dinner is a sort of scampi Provençal with a creamy buttery sauce and FLGV.

Mushroom curry can wait till another day Grin

8Track · 09/07/2020 12:24

@venusandmars Oh my, I'm drooling at the sound of lamgoustines!!

Sorry @Ifeelfat, I cant help particularly with the poop situation - maybe raw veg to up the fibre? Reduction in egg consumption, if you're a bit egg bound? And the obligatory water, water, water!

@Takingontheworld dont be down, listen to Venus. It will just be those pesky glycogen cells hogging water. Also, the kebab will have been pretty low carb so no need to stress about that too much - I love a dirty kebab takeaway on this WOE. Classy bird that I am.

Pork belly slices for tea,I'm hoping to crisp up the fat on top. With celeriac mash, white asparagus and maybe some creamy mushrooms. Cosy food for a drizzly day - the garden is loving this rain!

Laska2Meryls · 09/07/2020 12:32

Oh yum Venus are you in Uk? I love the sound of a prawn boat.. they do land fish and crab locally but to get them straight off the boat is fab ( our nearest place to do that is about 15 miles away, local harbour doesn't land sadly )

ShagMeRiggins · 09/07/2020 12:35

ifeelfat

Water, lots of fat, a magnesium supplement, and glycerin suppositories in times of emergency. Flowers

Ps—I wish I could pin MrsKoala’s beauty and skin post. Grin

Laska2Meryls · 09/07/2020 13:24

Anyone know of any sugar free bootcamp friendly cystitis medicine?
Boots has sugar in! Surely there must be some?

Laska2Meryls · 09/07/2020 13:26

I am downing the water... Gallons of it.. I don't usually suffer from cystitis..

nowlook · 09/07/2020 13:27

@ShagMeRiggins

Me too! I keep alternating between that and the "five must-haves if you're over 40" on S&B. It's costing me a fortune.
nowlook · 09/07/2020 13:31

@Laska2Meryls
I think this one is about the lowest. Most have something to do with cranberries, so you're always picking up some sugars I'm afraid.

It's costing me a fortune. Grin

If it works and makes you happy, it’s worth it. It’s always worth investing in yourself whether that’s education, finance, fitness, beauty...

To be honest I consider it all to be under the umbrella of well-being. Peace of mind is priceless.

NigellaAwesome · 09/07/2020 14:14

I finally got to weigh myself yesterday and I was 3 pounds down from last week, and another 1/2 pound today. I am almost into the 180s!

My friend held a belated birthday drinks party last night for a few of us who turned 50 over lockdown. It was the first time I have had alcohol since boot camp, and I swerved all cake. It was really lovely, but am strictly back on the alcohol free wagon today. I’ve felt a bit meh today, and just don’t have the same reserves today as I normally would. I’m reviewing material in work that just feels like really really hard work.

Sorry to hear things are tough @Takingontheworld. 💐💐

MrsKoala · 09/07/2020 14:52

Ps—I wish I could pin MrsKoala’s beauty and skin post

I’m not sure what that means @ShagMeRiggins . Sorry.

@nowlook Now I’m going to have to go over to S&B and see that thread and it will end up also costing me a fortune Grin

@venusandmars I am so jealous of your langoustines and your close proximity to a fishing harbour. My nearest is Hastings about 45 mins away. Although there is no harbour, they launch from the beach iirc.

As the weather is utterly gash here we’ve gone wintery with food. Had roast pork belly and swede mash last night and have got slow cooker beef rendang and cauliflower rice tonight. Soup for lunch. Lots of hot herbal tea. Feeling like curling up with a good film and tea and biscuits. I know it’s just habit tho and I’m not hungry.

nowlook · 09/07/2020 15:04

@MrsKoala pinning a post means that it's always at the top of the thread so you can refer back to it. A bit like BC rules. It was very much a compliment from @ShagMeRiggins.

Stay away from the S&B thread. I didn't know I needed half of that stuff.

Takingontheworld · 09/07/2020 16:39

The tiredness is hitting me hard today. Struggling to stay awake now. I fasted till 1.30pm from 5:30 last night, not intentional. Meant to go until 10 for a 16 hour fast but ended up struggling to motivate myself out of bed so after the night shift. Had plain salmon and garlic kale with some mayo. A chunk of manchego, cucumber and 6 almonds.

Must remember to keep drinking water. Period seems to be finally stopping, ovulation type pain has subsided at least.

Can't think what to make and I need to do a food shop but as i go away tomorrow I'm holding on as will need to shop for that so will just grab husband friendly cookable things for this house.

Well done on the losses all. I'll weigh again monday and pray for the best. Kids broke up from school today and I'm secretly hoping that by the time they go back in 8 weeks I'll have maybe lost enough for it to be noticeable by my mum buddies.

Laska2Meryls · 09/07/2020 17:59

Hope you are Ok Taking its not surprising if you feel weary . Hoping that your financial disaster can be mitigated somewhat.. ( I assume redundancy?)

So with DH still away and the mice will play .. I am having sauteed Turkey breast, garlic mushrooms and greens.. planning a few strawbs and cream for afters!
I deserve them , I have been really busy clearing out what is the equivalent of our loft today !

ShagMeRiggins · 09/07/2020 18:07

Very much a compliment, MrsKoala

MrsKoala · 09/07/2020 18:18

Sorry, I didn’t think it wasn’t a compliment but I just kept thinking about Pinterest and my brain couldn’t compute it. Now I get it. I’ve been over to S& B and am dangerously close to ordering the Becca under eye cream and a cream blusher...
