Morning all!

I love this week. It's my favourite week of the whole Bootcamp, because it's when people are finally convinced that it works!

And already I see some great losses - yes @TightPants that really can be true. No your scales aren't wrong, and presumably you'll be changing your name very soon?!

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness to record the first week's loss.

Looking forward to hearing more great results Flowers

Well done losers!

Great losses recorded on the end of the previous thread, cabin, tightpants, ampstrong and toots! You must be delighted.

I need to start posting food etc to help keep me on track. Plan for today is:

B: coffee with cream, fried eggs
L: chicken breast (with skin), broccoli and green beans (with butter)
D: lamp chop with roast veg (courgette, pepper, aubergine, shallots and feta)

Fingers crossed for the weigh in everyone Smile

Rainbowturkey · 22/10/2018 07:38

Just saw the end of the last thread and WOW some amazing loses!

Has anyone suffered from itching on this WOE, does it subside quickly . It’s driving me insane!

NLisa · 22/10/2018 07:39

Goodmorning,

Happy feelings this morning 3lbs weight loss. And 1,5 inches off my stomach.

Happy Monday everyone!!

Rshard · 22/10/2018 07:44

My favourite week too BIWI - well done to all the losers and good luck to all those still to weigh.

2lbs off for me, which being quite close to goal I’m happy with.

Looking forward to koko this week!

TheWildRumpyPumpus · 22/10/2018 07:46

2lb here - nothing dramatic but happy to see scales moving in the right direction!

Well done to everyone who has made it through the first week!

CodLiverOil556 · 22/10/2018 07:49

Well done everyone that's weighed in so far. I've lost 6.6lbs which is my highest ever week 1 weigh in! I feel better and have lots more energy.

Really looking forward to next week and ditching breakfast and then I can start fasting too which is something I quite enjoy.

I find it easy as I've never been a foodie and only eat to stay alive...although I have a real sweet tooth hence why I'm the weight I am.

Good luck this week everyone...onward and downward

TheWildRumpyPumpus · 22/10/2018 07:50

I’ve had a horrid stomach ache for the last few days - I’m wondering if my body isn’t happy with the increased fat in my diet, having had gall stones and my gall bladder removed in the past.

@BIWI is this a ‘known’ issue from anyone who’s done boot camp before or is it likely to be unrelated?

SayrraT · 22/10/2018 07:52

rainbow I don't but "keto-itch* is a thing. I can't remember what you can do about it though. Maybe someone else will.

Collectorofcookbooks · 22/10/2018 07:53

A very cheery morning all,

8lbs off! I’m delighted. Took me through a stone barrier too.

I could have done even better if I hadn’t had 2 glasses of wine of Saturday and Sunday. But we hosted a party, have been out for lunch, and currently have my parents staying to help with halfterm, and I’ve stuck to food 100%.

Bring on this week! It’s going to be a challenge and I’ll just have to do the best I can as staying with relatives who don’t understand but will doing the cooking.

StuntNun · 22/10/2018 07:59

Lots of great losses so far. There is usually a lot of variation in the first week and it's normal to have lost anywhere up to 10lb. It depends on a lot of factors such as whether you have been on a reduced calorie diet, starting weight, how insulin resistant you are, time of the month, etc. Some people will actually gain weight at first when they go low carb although the scales do start dropping again very quickly.

Littleorangetree · 22/10/2018 08:03

Quite chuffed this morning with 4.5lbs lost this week. Definitely heading in the right direction. I've made myself a spreadsheet with a graph for extra encouragement, but think I might measure myself too as well as weighing to help me over the stalls.

Well done everyone! Smile Very motivating to see other people's losses.

BlackMozart · 22/10/2018 08:03

Rainbowturkey I think quite a few people suffer with itchy skin on this woe including me and I’m sure others with more experience will be along with some suggestions. I think there is something known as the ‘ keto itch ‘ which can happen where people drop below 20g of carbs a day - I think I read something on the diet doctor website, or perhaps I just googled it. Ilovecherries May have some ideas because I think she has also had it - sorry if I have got that wrong ilove. I’m not much help because mine is terrible and has been going on for a year but although it started at a similar time to me starting this woe last October I don’t think it is related. My GP has finally referred me to dermatologist. I am peri menopausal and you can get itching with that too.

Despite cremating my dinner - had to go out to pick up DH unexpectedly and forgot it- I did not cave in and eat the Toad in the Hole and mash I had made for family. Feeling quite please about that 🙂

Tiredofit · 22/10/2018 08:14

I’ve lost 5lbs so I’m pleased with that. Just having a quick cup of tea with soya milk as ds needs transporting to his club. I’ll have breakfast when I get back. Good luck to everyone weighing today.

boldlygoingsomewhere · 22/10/2018 08:14

Congratulations to all who have seen a change. I’m away at the moment and also at TOTM so am very bloated! No change for me this week but hopefully it will show up next week.

Peaches2018 · 22/10/2018 08:17

Good morning to everyone
Well I'm still a bit in shock but here goes:
7.05 pounds / 3.2 kg lost and 6.4 inches/ 16.5cm all together gone!
I need a cuppa to get this to sink in I guess

To everybody else: Well done on all the weight loss and let's go for weeks 2!!!!

Iamnotacerealkiller · 22/10/2018 08:18

6lb off for me !!!! from 13.3 to 12.11. wouldnt it be nice if we could all lose first week amounts every week then i would be at goal after only 5 weeks of bootcamp!!

A great start especially after the accidental lentil imbibing yesterday (and the not so accidental peanut butter last night)

Nyon · 22/10/2018 08:22

Morning :) 2lb loss for me. Little disappointed that it’s not more, but it’s all in the right direction!

B: omelette with gammon, shallot & spinach
L: currently unsure.
D: sea bream cooked in butter and cream with broccoli and Cauliflower patties.

BlackMozart · 22/10/2018 08:26

Oh well done all who are losing! Very impressive. I didn’t get started until Wednesday and I am away with work Tuesday/Wednesday so will weigh Thursday morning this week (rather than today) and stick with that day through this bootcamp. I am just glad to be sticking to it so far. I have a Japanese meal out tomorrow to contend with - a set meal - but all other meals I am sure I can negotiate.

Peaches2018 · 22/10/2018 08:26

@BIWI could you change my weight please? For some reason my phone doesn't let me change anything Thanks a lot

Iamnotacerealkiller · 22/10/2018 08:35

OH.NO.
Has anyone else's sainsburies opened a sushi deli counter?

Im doomed...

Anyone got ideas for sushi without the rice? im thinking of wrapping the ingedients in the seaweed with something mushy like avocado. Have tried with cauliflower rice but wasn't a fan.

FuriousFifties · 22/10/2018 08:40

Morning 3.2lb loss here, so nicely adjusting, managed to get through a kids party full of carby beige and swerved it all.

Main aim this week, water water water. I think I need to drink little and often rather than a large amount when I suddenly realise I'm behind. I always struggle with this.

Lovely to see all the fantastic losses congratulations one and all.

Doilooklikeatourist · 22/10/2018 08:46

Holy cow !
I’ve lost 6 lb , from 11-10 to 11-4 ( 164 lb to 158 )
I’m so pleased , I didn’t t really think this would work as I snaffled cheese all over lunch and dinner
Roll on week 2

Peaches2018 · 22/10/2018 08:55

@Iamnotacerealkiller Sushi oh yum yum!!! Do let me know if you find alternatives to rice!! I absolutely love sushi!!

Peaches2018 · 22/10/2018 08:56

@Doilooklikeatourist I was surprised too since I've scoffed cheese like mad over everything

ilovecherries · 22/10/2018 08:57

rainbow, I have had quite significant problems with itching since I started. Persistent itch does need checked out, so don’t let it go on for weeks, but you will probably find it settles - keto itch IS a thing, and for most people it goes away. I had mine checked out eventually and no reason found, so I guess I’m just one of the few people whose skin objects a bit. For me, it always seems to herald being in deep ketosis - I don’t count carbs but I think it kicks in at about 30 gms a day. I tried the bloody egg fast once, I thought I was going to rip my skin off. By Thursday last week, I was having to raise my carbs a bit as the itching was crazy. BUT before anyone thinks that means a medicinal pile of toast or a slice of cake, I’m afraid your luck is out Grin. A small amount of grated carrot or 3-4cherries tomatoes is enough to help me. So while I never stop LCHF, I do most days eat a SMALL portion of a slightly carbier veg. As for immediate relief, I’m no doctor, but for me using the E45 anti itch cream and taking an allergy relief tablet helps. Also, don’t assume there will be a causal relationship - October onwards is key ‘winter itch’ season. Drier skin, leaf moulds, central heating etc all contribute.
