Morning all!

I love this week. It's my favourite week of the whole Bootcamp, because it's when people are finally convinced that it works!

And already I see some great losses - yes @TightPants that really can be true. No your scales aren't wrong, and presumably you'll be changing your name very soon?!

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness to record the first week's loss.

Looking forward to hearing more great results Flowers

@abbey44 - it's tough and you have my every sympathy. If it makes you feel better though, those 3lbs will not be fat. You will have just refilled your glycogen stores, so extra exercise is a perfect antidote.

And remember, weight loss isn't linear! Keep up the water and also make sure you're really eating enough fat

@Pengweng - you're welcome to join! Jump in and add your name to the spreadsheet (at the bottom and then the lovely @AthelstaneTheUnready will re-alphabetise it later).

@StAlphonzospancakebreakfast if you've already made it, then OK if you have to - remember it's not just the flour that adds carbs but all the milk you're using. But if you haven't, there's no need to use flour or milk in cauliflower cheese. 300ml of double cream, heated till it starts to boil, and then as much grated cheese as you want chucked in and cooked until it melts.

Brilliant. I'm all ready to start tomorrow. Stocked up on salad, meat and cream.
Oh and eggs too. Grin

AthelstaneTheUnready · 28/10/2018 13:48

Oh my! Shock

Spreadsheet alert! If your name is around Bingenomore or Bingeisatwat in the alphabet, can you have a look and see if your weights are still in the right row?

We have four rows of weights with no names Shock. Unfortunately I can't undo changes other people have made, so can't put it back.

Let me know if these weights are yours and I'll manually add them back in.

Collectorofcookbooks · 28/10/2018 13:53

Thanks for the cheese sauce recipe @BIWI, I was just about the check the spreadsheet to see if there was one!

I’ve tried my best over the past few days but it’s been hard staying at a relatives house and not being in charge of the cooking! Back on it now though, and upping my water. Will definitely be carrying on with pure boot camp for a while.

Had sautéed mushrooms and scrambled eggs for breakfast, salad for lunch, and about to do roast gammon with lots of veg for dinner.

Onlyaprawn · 28/10/2018 14:05

Thanks for the breakfast ideas @BIWI and @Doilooklikeatourist. Been feasting on continental meats, cheeses and smoked salmon (not altogether!) which has felt very decadent! Looking forward to a lovely roast chicken for tea and will try out one of the celeriac recipes to go with it.

CodLiverOil556 · 28/10/2018 14:09

I get terribly constipated and am also on codeine so that doesn't help. I have to take dulcolax to get me going.

Whoever it was that said about celeriac what a star...just made bubble and squeak out of it. Boiled it, mashed it, added cream, leeks then fried it....absolutely delicious.

Have found some peanuts that are only 1.4g of carbs in a 25g serving which is the lowest I've seen.

Love this woe and when I'm in the zone I'm amazing but for some reason I fall off the wagon and fall head first into carbs.

This is the last bootcamp I'm doing as this is the time I get to where I'm going and keep at it.

I was shopping today and wandered past restaurants where slim people were eating whatever they fancied...I want to get to that point where I get eat anything and know I can incorporate it into this woe.

KOKO everyone

tootstastic · 28/10/2018 14:31

@kermitrulesok yes that's exactly how I'd like to be...just a slim person eating a little of what they fancy. One day, eh?!

abbey44 · 28/10/2018 15:12

Thanks @BIWI - I feel a bit better now I've been out with the dogs. Another low sugar though - I think maybe I need to adjust my background insulin again, which is good. And yes to remembering it's not linear - I keep my last year's graph to remind me.

B: Coffee with cream
L: Cheese omelette
D: Will be buttered sprouts with bacon and chilli

and lots of Positive Mental Attitude. KOKO...

BIWI · 28/10/2018 15:22

@Collectorofcookbooks you do know that there are several Bootcamp recipe threads, don't you?

Go to the Bootcamp topic and you'll find them stickied there.

BIWI i forgot about the milk! Hmm, I might give it a miss then. Thanks for the recipe though. I used to make a tofu with cheese sauce low carb thing with sour cream and cheese and an egg but it didn’t actually taste very nice 😂

tootstastic · 28/10/2018 15:52

I can vouch for the Cauli cheese made with just warmed double cream and cheese with no flour...it is delicious.

I've just had a go at celeriac dauphinois. It's in the oven now with a roast chicken and will serve with steamed broccoli and buttered sprouts. I'm enjoying how this WOE is lifting me out of my cooking rut.

Good luck with weigh-ins tom everyone!

prettybird · 28/10/2018 15:56

I'm making my mum's lasagne tonight (uses various cheeses rather than a béchamel sauce), with thinly sliced courgettes rather than lasagne sheets. Smile

It's yummy Grin

WheelyWheelySpookilicousCotee · 28/10/2018 16:03

Loving all the positiveness!

and meal ideas

I'm a bit disheartened today. Stepped on the scales ahead of tommorrow and still no reduction. I had the pause at week 3 and 4 buts its carried into the last weeks. Good thing is I haven't gained weight.

I'm going to write a food diary and stop doing bootcamp lite starting tomorrow.....I have a beef boginion in the oven for tea and been looking forward all week to it.

B: Greek yoghurt. 2x coffees with cream
L: Mashed soft boiled egg with butter. 1 x tea with milk😁
S: a whole bunch of celery (I love it) and coffee and cream.
D: beef bourginion with celeriac and leek mash

My water intake this week has not been great. The first couple of weeks I was patched all the time but I haven't felt like that since

WheelyWheelySpookilicousCotee · 28/10/2018 16:03

And KOKO everyone!!!!

tootstastic · 28/10/2018 16:04

Ooh like the sound of your lasagne @prettybird will add that to my list of things to try.

BIWI · 28/10/2018 17:11

Drink the water @WheelyWheelySpookilicousCotee it really does help with weight loss!

It's on the recipe thread tootstastic Smile

tootstastic · 28/10/2018 17:37

Thanks @prettybird I'll take a look 👀

Iamnotacerealkiller · 28/10/2018 17:44

OK..OKOK.

ive just come up with something amazing. anyone missing a really filling curry with rice? Well i've just made something which is soooo close but low carb. (before anyone freaks out im bc light due to breastfeeding)

Bought a curry sauce from sainoes (own brand tikka masala 5.5g carbs) Cooked about half a diced chicken breast in lots of oil (i use peanut) added coulirice. ADD AN EGG and mix it up with the coulirice to make it egg fried!! then add about a third of the sauce, two tablespoons of ground almonds and about 6 tablespoons of tinned coconut milk. bring to boil and serve.

Took about 5 minutes and honestly i would have barely noticed the coulirice. im frigging STUFFED. its good also as it isnt mostly meat, ive been trying to find ways to eat more veg and less meat for the environment etc.

Doubt i will have lost weight tomorrow just because of the shear amount i have eaten the last couple of days trying to boost my milk supply but happy to carry on as im having fun experimenting!

BIWI · 28/10/2018 18:52

Right you lot. I'm giving you advance warning that tomorrow's week 3 chat thread might not be up till later in the morning, because I have a week off, and I'm not going to set my alarm!

(This will probably mean that I wake up at 6am anyway, but just wanted to warn you Grin)

Evening all, had a week of ups and downs.
Had a long planned dental surgery which really messed up my eating. I’ve been back on track over the last 2 days and will continue with BC, most likely for next 2 weeks.
Head cold settled in and also expecting TOM so feeling a bit sorry for myself.

B: mixed salad ( weirdly felt like green this morning) with pepper, avo, egg and mayo
L: creamy mushrooms with courgette, leftover chicken
D: roasted couliflower, cod

Trying to drink lots, due to my cold it’s mainly green or mint tea.

Good luck for the weigh it tomorrow.
I will stay off the scales myself.

Grah0SoontobeaFitty · 28/10/2018 19:20

For constipation try magnesium or flax meal
Either sprinkle on anything or mix with eggs water to make crackers or bread. Depends in the thickness. Adds taste and texture to egg muffins.

JadziaSnax · 28/10/2018 19:57

As I've been intermittent fasting as well as lchf for a few weeks, my weigh in day is Friday so I've already added my loss this week. 6lbs! Shock I've lost a grand total of 11lbs so far and have dropped a dress size.

Definitely carrying on with this way of eating. I feel great.

Spiderkitty · 28/10/2018 20:11

Thank you for the cheese sauce recipe BIWI, I've been wanting to make Anglesey eggs (with celeriac!) and needed a good cheese sauce replacement!

Good luck for the weigh in tomorrow everyone!

LeapinLizards · 28/10/2018 21:40

I'm slinking back in with my head hanging low. I've had a bad week. Actually, a bad 10 days - so much stress & sadness & grief that I've found it hard to cope. I won't go into it all but instead plan to start BC proper tomorrow again & try to get myself back on track.
