Week 2 - May '18 Low Carb Bootcamp - my favourite week!

Morning all

Here's the Spreadsheet

I love this week, seeing how much weight people lose, and especially as it's always such a surprise for newbies and those who feared that this WOE wouldn't work!

I hope you've all seen good results.

If you haven't - don't despair, but have a think about the week just gone. Look at what you were eating/drinking and consider how well you followed Bootcamp rules.

Any problems, as ever, post them on the thread.

7.25lb loss :) Hoping for another 3 this week - fingers crossed!

SummerRayne17 · 21/05/2018 15:05

@Titsywoo super weight loss! 👍🏼 well done!

prettybird · 21/05/2018 15:14

I struggled to catch up after my 20th anniversary last Wednesday (did well Boot Camp Lite food wise let's gloss over the alcohol and had a lovely day) and although I managed to read most of the 1st thread, never managed to catch up on the overflow thread. Blush

So I get to this thread and it's already 150 posts! Shock

So I'm just going to post quickly and say that I am down 5lb already SmileShock - to 12st 2lb. So only 2.5lb to go to break into 11stone somethings Grin And only 3lb to go until I am back to when I fell off the wagon - which is also the full 3 stone from when I started Boot Camp after a very long gap again at the end of May. It would be nice but unlikely if I could lose another 3lb by Friday as that was when I was at the wedding which was a real wake-up call (when I had to but size 18 trousers Sad), so I could have the round 3 stone on the anniversary.

Really pleased that I am back on track! Smile

whittering

ilovecherries · 21/05/2018 15:17

Stunt, I've been doing 16:8 at least 6 times a week since last July. My injuries limit to some degree what I can do physically, but I've gradually built up to running 5K 3 times a week - although pain wise that is pretty much me at my limit. I've been working with a PT twice a week since Feb, and that's all weights/strength - again, some physical limitations, but I do persist. I can't even claim big babies - 6 week prem Tiddlers. I've lost 15 inches off my waist so far - maybe I just need more time. But after all this effort, its would be nice not to get the cats-arse face at hospital when they weigh/measure me. Plus I do actually worry about it :(

Twoo · 21/05/2018 15:21

Fingers crossed you meet your anniversary goals pretty’ ! You’ve done so well so far.

ilovecherries · 21/05/2018 15:27

That body fat calculator says I'm still obese :(. I could cry.

Goodasgoldilox · 21/05/2018 15:31

Curse that body-fat calculator ilovecherries.

We are obese but only temporarily.

That calculator will have to eat its offensive word very soon.

ilovecherries · 21/05/2018 15:38

Good, but I was so pleased with myself to have a healthy bmi at last! But it's not enough :(

prettybird · 21/05/2018 15:39

I'll try and catch up with the rest of this thread later. Flowers to those that need them ( BIWI from the last thread, Giraffeski on this one, amongst others).

Aromatic spices

What are the pork crispy things from M&s?

AromaticSpices · 21/05/2018 16:02

@Plantlover mr porky crispy strips. 0.6g carb per 100g - just 0.1g carb per packet. And they're DELICIOUS. Too good. I have already eaten the two packets I bought this morning Blush. They're in a pink-ish packet, same size as a bag of crisps. www.mysupermarket.co.uk/tesco-price-comparison/Snacks/Mr_Porky_Crispy_Strips_40g.html

Any ideas for aubergine side dish which would go with chicken butter (tomato) curry? Can only think of slicing and frying in butter

BerylStreep · 21/05/2018 17:07

Farine, I prefer to cut aubergine into cubes and roast in oil. It's much easier than faffing around with slices.

An alternative is to roast the aubergine whole then scoop out the inside once done. A few cumin seeds stirred through make it divine.

I'm just back from a weekend away, so afraid I haven't caught up with the thread, or dared to step on the scale. I might pop last Friday's weight on the spreadsheet and then see how I get on this week.

bibliomania · 21/05/2018 17:26

Ooh, yes, I love aubergine. Prick it and put it in the oven till it collapses. Scoop out the soft insides. Fry garlic and paprika, stir in the aubergine, squeeze over some lemon.

BerylStreep · 21/05/2018 17:27

Brilliant losses everyone!

Cherries you look absolutely amazing! I love the hair too.

TimeIhadAnotherNamechange Ditto - what a difference there is!

wherehavealltheflowersgone · 21/05/2018 18:18

So last Friday I was just starting to feel better and over the carb flu, then I foolishly fell face first into carby twatdon for a 24 hour period on Saturday, and today I have the carb flu symptoms back! Envy

Is this punishment?? Or a normal virus?

AthelstaneTheUnready · 21/05/2018 18:23

where, if I'm in full LCHF flow, and have a meal off, I tend to get the sniffles and a sore throat after it - the inflammatory effect of a sudden rush of sugar!

farine · 21/05/2018 18:24

flowers I'm feeling a bit fluy today too. I took gels when running yesterday and wondered if that has caused it. Or maybe it's my salt levels? About to have ANOTHER big glass of water to try and get over the hill. Will see if I have a jar of bovril in cupboard too as that may help

wherehavealltheflowersgone · 21/05/2018 18:27

Thank you @farine and @AthelstaneTheUnready that confirms what I thought - that'll teach me!!

Seafour · 21/05/2018 18:35

Giraffski so sorry to hear about your mc Thanks

Time your pictures are awesome too, one this is clear from yours and cherries photos and that is losing weight makes you look loads younger.

The gherkin your comment about smelling of shepherds pie made me laugh out loudGrinI remember people complaining about it on previous bc but it's one of my favourite smells.

3stonedown · 21/05/2018 18:35

wherehavealltheflowersgone I'm the same. I've been doing boot camp for 2 weeks now and thought I was over the carb flu but I feel awful today. Very very very slow and short run and I would usually do more exercise but I'm planning on putting DD to bed at 7 then going to sleep myself

AthelstaneTheUnready · 21/05/2018 18:37

We're up to 351 lbs lost between us this week! Shock

TimeIhadaNameChange · 21/05/2018 18:38

seafour - thanks!

Go on, anyone who wants a go. How old would you say I am, going from either of those photos. (I honestly don't care what you say, I'm just curious).

blackteaplease · 21/05/2018 18:40

Flowers for Girafeski. Sorry to hear of your miscarriage, it's a tough time to get through.
I was craving something sweet at work due to lack of lunch but perserved and had lovely steak and roasted veg for dinner with lashings of butter.
