Week 2 - May '18 Low Carb Bootcamp - my favourite week!

Morning all

Here's the Spreadsheet

I love this week, seeing how much weight people lose, and especially as it's always such a surprise for newbies and those who feared that this WOE wouldn't work!

I hope you've all seen good results.

If you haven't - don't despair, but have a think about the week just gone. Look at what you were eating/drinking and consider how well you followed Bootcamp rules.

Any problems, as ever, post them on the thread.

Kakiqueen a lb is a reasonable amount of weight to lose in a week, koko and at the end of week 10 you will see the difference.

MyShinyThing · 25/05/2018 08:10

@Waswittyonce we also work together in the same job! DH also sleeps better & is very laid back about food. Thinking about it he's also one of those who's able to self moderate. He will leave food on the plate when he's full, something I don't seem to be able to do. And if he eats loads one day he'll naturally eat less the next day. He really does see food as fuel!

GiantPandaAttacks · 25/05/2018 08:14

Urgh. Feeling completely despondent as has a sneaky weigh in and 2lb up. I know that I’ve struggled to drink the right amount twice this week (4litres is a lot!) and the flgv was lower on two days but still. Not a carb has passed my lips. Really disappointing. Am hoping that making sure I continue to rectify these two issues for the rest of the week will result in a loss.

Laska5772 · 25/05/2018 08:25

Coolio! Smile after sticking it to it religiously and the scales not moving since Sunday I am suddenly 2lb down this morning,.

This has got me motivated for a family weekend ...I want it to 'stick'!

AthelstaneTheUnready · 25/05/2018 08:31

oh, the unbelievers! Grin Grin Grin

I think here is where I came across it - there's plenty of anecdotal evidence on the web, but I can't find very much hard science for it.

PuddingAndHotMilk · 25/05/2018 08:31

I've had a bounce back up too. I'm just trusting that overall it's heading the right way. I'm off on holiday to bonnie Scotland today - rented a cottage in Ullapool with my 4 yo DD while DH completes the Cape Wrath trail. Hoping as it's just the two of us for most of it I should be safe to stick to plan!? Sadly I won't have a chance to run all week but I'm going to attempt some video fitness stuff after bedtimes Confused

Is everyone going to switch to lite next week? I'm going to try to keep nuts and berries out. Maybe a weekly treat only?! Good luck resisting the weekend temptations everyone Thanks

AthelstaneTheUnready · 25/05/2018 08:33

I'm another one up - 2lbs on today. But I did have my medicinal wine to get on the train, I'm up to the eyeballs in painkillers, and haven't moved above an amble since Sunday, so am not grieving about it. These things happen.

MrsBertBibby · 25/05/2018 08:37

Ullapool! How lovely! I hope the weather is kind for you.

AthelstaneTheUnready · 25/05/2018 08:41

I lived up near Ullapool for a year or so when I was in my late teens. Adored the place. Such a lovely harbour.

farine · 25/05/2018 08:47

pudding I am planning to have some berries on Saturday evening as we are camping and I have promised to make dessert for everyone - so berries and cream it is! Apart from that I am planning to stay on hardcore bootcamp for another week before I go on holiday.

Laska5772 · 25/05/2018 08:51

I'm keeping on Hardcore until I go on holiday in 4 weeks ,

There will be some fruit eaten on holiday as I dont think i can resist Greek yoghurt and their lovely ripe peaches/ cherries for breakfast . ( I wont be having the honey though ,..)

farine · 25/05/2018 09:01

On the topic of holidays, anyone know if it's easy to stick to bootcamp in Spain? I'm going to try and stick to it as closely as I can whilst away but we aren't going self catering so will be eating out for lunch and dinner

ilovecherries · 25/05/2018 09:10

farine, I had a two week holiday in Spain on week6/7 BC last May and have made several shorter trips since. I didn't find it a problem, except for they don't really do pouring cream in restaurants.

AthelstaneTheUnready · 25/05/2018 09:22

I seem to have lost my appetite the last 24 hours. I'm a bit hungry, but can't face actually putting any food in my mouth. What do you all do to tempt yourselves? Or do you just not bother?

maxthemartian · 25/05/2018 09:32

Morning all!
The keto flu I had was luckily a one-day only thing. Feeling a lot more normal and energetic now. Not weighing myself this week as due my period today or tomorrow but hoping Monday's weigh-in will bring good news.
My appetite also seems to have dropped off a bit and I'm guessing that my blood sugars have now stabilised.
Looking forward to my salted caramel Oppo ice-cream currently in the freezer Smile

JuneBalloon · 25/05/2018 09:43

I have that problem @AthelstaneTheUnready! I normally live to eat and used to be able to always find something to 'tickle my fancy'... But not these days. I eat to live at the moment which is a bit disappointing. But the weight loss keeps my going (though I seem to have plateaued this week - not sure if that's because my period is due or because I'm reaching my ideal weight???)

Laska5772 · 25/05/2018 09:59

athelstane. I've got like that also... I'm just waiting until I actually feel hungry enough and want to eat ..(however i am lucky in that i can access meal when ever I like as at work there is no set breaks)

I dont know if that's the right thing to do ,but I did have good success with intermittent fasting previously (though not LC)..

Having said that I am not at all starving myself, I have just eaten a piece of salmon left over from last night (when i didn't want it), and two buttery eggs .. that will probably do me until dinner which willbe chicken and FLOGV

Am chugging the water also which keeps me full.

Justmuddlingalong · 25/05/2018 10:08

I can confirm that cold cauliflower cheese is delicious. I had it for a late breakfast as I couldn't face the thought of it 1st thing, but it was gorgeous. Have a great day everyone.

DramaAlpaca · 25/05/2018 10:28

My persistent pound is still off this morning. I'm wondering if it will be back tomorrow.

I'm going on holiday in a week's time. I'm going to try & stick with the plan.

StuntNun · 25/05/2018 11:13

Laska if your off-piste treat is a fresh peach or some cherries then I would say you're doing it right. It's easy to decide we want / need / deserve a sweet treat but then it often doesn't live up to expectations. But I guarantee you will savour and enjoy a perfectly ripe peach far more now that your taste buds are getting used to much less sugar.

Iamnotacerealkiller · 25/05/2018 11:30

i have also stalled a bit in the last three days with no weight loss. i would love to lose another lb by monday to make three for the week. dont think i had enough water yesterday should be easier now as husband will be home during the weekend so i can cook while he holds the baby.

breakfast was a boiled egg salami and philli
lunch will probably be tuna mayo and greens (may bake the tuna into a cheesy melt!!)
dinner will be tandoori chicken and couli bhaji

Laska5772 · 25/05/2018 11:43

Stuntnun that's reassuring..Thanks but then there's also the potential holiday wine problem.. One great thing about Greek holidays though is the wonderful fresh fish and feta salads.. !

AromaticSpices · 25/05/2018 11:50

Delicious early lunch of egg mayo (made with two eggs, tablespoon of mayo), two rashers of bacon and 'baby' lettuce leaves. Was so lovely!

Cauli cheese for dinner I think, need to pop to the shops.

Does anyone have any nice bank holiday weekend plans?

Laska5772 · 25/05/2018 11:54

....of course i know the Bootcamp rules.. no fruit.. but its my once-a-year chance at utterly ripe peaches and apricots . I do accept it will mean going straight back on it when i get home..

Laska5772 · 25/05/2018 12:03

..the first two weeks hardcore bootcamp ,I mean..I am fully intendng to LC as much as possible out there..
