Wow! This is the first time I've had to start a second thread this early!

Please continue to post all your meals, ideas, questions, woes, successes etc here!

I'm currently on a train Oop North with very dodgy wifi so can't guarantee I will see or be able to answer all your questions, but I'll do my best.

Also, tomorrow I'm at a funeral Sad so won't be around very much

How do people cope when they are away from home and doing this? Me and dp had a weekend away and my low carb attempt went to pot. Really struggled finding things that worked properly. Pre prepared salads seem to come as standard with pasta, any form of snack type chicken is either slathered in a sweet chilli sauce or something equally not allowed. I did avoid the doughnuts, and sweets. I did not avoid the fish and chips Blush
Tomorrow's food will be...
B) scrambled egg with smoked salmon
L) burger and peppered cheese with lettuce in place of standard bread bun. Probably some side salad.
T) hoofing great big salad (lettuce, cucumber, pepper, possibly chicken and crispy bacon and a sauce of some sort,
I work evenings, so my main meal is my lunch and my evening meal is something smaller since I get back home at 9pm.

mickeymacca · 20/05/2018 17:15

waswittyonce I know what you're saying about family or friends being critical. It's the thing I find hardest on this WOE is people noticing and commenting about it. I hate the attention it seems to attract.
yarboosucks did I read that right? A brownie with bacon on the top?? Is that even a thing??
I'm feeling pleased have had a very sociable weekend and stayed on track... Looking forward to the weigh-in!!

MelanieCheeks · 20/05/2018 17:17

I was away this weekend too, and hadn't properly planned my food.

Friday was a starter of crab on a pea veloute in a posh restaurant. But I couldnt find any mini cheeses or boiled eggs or snack meats, so I did resort to a bag of peanuts, even though that's not strictly allowable in the first 2 weeks.

Sat morning I managed to find an omelette, and stocked up on cheese strings and pepperami. Sat evening was a party where I had cocktail sausages, licked the egg mayo and smoked salmon off the crostini, and had some crudities and dips. I'll know better for next time!meanwhile, now back home and I have found teh frozen cauli rice in tesco! Huzzah!

mickeymacca · 20/05/2018 17:17

How do I calculate how much water I should be drinking? I'm probs drinking around 7 pints but don't know if that's enough

mickeymacca · 20/05/2018 17:32

Well done Melaniecheeks

Eolian · 20/05/2018 17:40

Liking the look of Oppo ice cream. Asda and Sainsbury's seem to sell it. There's a store finder on the Oppo website.

HappyHoppy · 20/05/2018 17:52

Mmmmm, Oppo salted caramel is the best! Looking forward to some after the next week!

I had a delicious lunch out today - Turkish eggs with yoghurt, Aleppo chilli butter, feta, herbs. It was on the menu with sourdough so asked for it without, and it was divine!

Feeling pretty rough this evening though - making tuna steak and celeriac chips for dinner but don’t really fee hungry and am actually slightly nauseous. I wonder if I didn’t drink enough water while we were out in the park earlier? Having lots now.

farine · 20/05/2018 18:10

Well I ran my half marathon today - it was so tough. I ended up taking gels and having some lucozade sport as I just felt I had absolutely nothing in the tank. Slower by 20 minutes than my half in March. I definitely haven't switched to fat burning yet.

Nevertheless, I am ok with this. I am focused on the long term win not a short term boost.

I weighed myself this am so that I can track over next 24-48 hours if the gels have impacted on my weight loss. I've lost 2.5lbs which is a tad disappointing but hey it's a loss and I can't compare my loss to someone else's loss. All on our own journey.

Rayna37 · 20/05/2018 18:23

farine it was REALLY hot though so you did brilliantly! I just did 5 miles, it felt so free without the buggy but I now look like a beetroot.

TimeIhadaNameChange · 20/05/2018 18:34

Well done the pair of you!!!!! I cant wait til my first half in September.

BIWI · 20/05/2018 18:48

@mickeymacca have you read Bootcamp rules?! Rule no 6 will tell you exactly how much you need to drink

@farine well done! Don't worry too much about your time. You're still adjusting to LC

A constipation suggestion... Am slightly embarassed to admit that my fail-safe solution is to push back on my perineum, child birth style. Helps gravity along magnificently!

My long over due period has finally decided to put in an appearance so after a week of the scales not shifting at all, despite rejection of many lovely things to eat at a range of social events, so I'm confident that progress will now start to be seen :)

mickeymacca · 20/05/2018 18:59

@biwi yes I did obviously not well enough 😳

Lonesurvivor · 20/05/2018 19:06

I've eaten this way for 3 weeks now. Usually when I've done low carb previously I've been really fed up by now and started making excuses and by the start of week 4 carbs start creeping in and by the end I've given up.
I'm looking forward to breaking that cycle and continuing on, it feels good not to be fed up at this stage.

Laska5772 · 20/05/2018 19:06

out t a 40th partylast nigh t, opted to drive so fizzy water and slice all evening , Halo

I e was nt sure if i would be able to eat any of the buffet , but they had marinaded chicken breast kebabs. I couldn't taste anything sweet in them so I had 2 , also some celery and sour cream ( this was part of a larger veggie platter but all I could have was the celery) and i picked the salad garnish off the sandwich trays and a bit of grated cheese that had fallen out of some sandwiches!.

the only bum note was a piece of ham which as soon as i had put it in my mouth I could tell it was honey roasted.. ( I hate that anyway)

This morning was down another 1lb so v.v. pleased as this makes half a stone since I started ( the Thursday before official start day)
today I had

B: a small glass of h/m kefir, and lots of black coffee
L:3 eggs in butter with watercress
D; sirloin steak , roasted asparagus in evoo, and mushrooms cooked in butter

Ive just also had a small packet (20g) of pork scratching straws from Co op (I know thats probably ok but hope it doesn't stall a good result for tomorrow).

Ihave been taking magnesium because i usually get really constipated on this WOE, and it seems to be working, but its not happening every day . (TMI)

itchyknees · 20/05/2018 19:08

We went to a flower show today and bought loads of lovely veg, local butter and some lamb chops so that’s us sorted!

My phenomenal weight loss includes the drop I always get from starting my period. What is a normal weight loss in week one so I can mentally prepare myself for less of a loss this week? I am 8lb down and it’s not even tomorrow yet!

Laska5772 · 20/05/2018 19:09

I've also noticed that my nails have grown a lot in the last week juneballoon

farine · 20/05/2018 19:22

Re: half marathon
I was sooooo good at the end. They were giving out free bananas AND free crisps (walkers - all flavours!) AND bottles of fruit juice. I resisted everything.

UnimaginativeUsername · 20/05/2018 19:38

Well done @farine. Both on the race and resisting temptation (which must have been even harder after all that running).

I decided to just roast my chicken, rather than making soup. So I had it with roast celeriac, fennel and broccoli. I’m stuffed full!

(Possibly TMI) has anyone else found that their poo has turned green?

Rshard · 20/05/2018 19:50

Well done on the running farine and rayna

No green poo here unimaginative!

Iamnotacerealkiller · 20/05/2018 19:54

I also use the perineum trick **too much!!!

I have been suplimenting with fenugreek capsule (7) to aid (in theory) with my milk supply. A happy side effect is that it contains lots of fibre and is helping with the constipation I usually get doing this.

Yarboosucks · 20/05/2018 19:55

mickeymacca - yes, you read right - it was a boozey brownie with candied bacon bits on top…. I ate a strip about 1.5 cm wide and it was delicious…. :(

DH is going to polish off the rest!

Justmuddlingalong · 20/05/2018 19:57

No poo here at all, green or otherwise, unimaginative!

Yarboosucks · 20/05/2018 19:57

Apart from LOADS of water, I find psyllium capsules help with the constipation issue.
