Wow! This is the first time I've had to start a second thread this early!

Please continue to post all your meals, ideas, questions, woes, successes etc here!

I'm currently on a train Oop North with very dodgy wifi so can't guarantee I will see or be able to answer all your questions, but I'll do my best.

Also, tomorrow I'm at a funeral Sad so won't be around very much

@wherehavealltheflowersgone

If you have to have ice-cream - ideally wait until the first two weeks of Bootcamp are over, but then try Oppo It's really lovely. I've had the salted caramel and chocolate and hazelnuts ones, and you would never know it's not 'real' ice-cream.

@Iamnotacerealkiller good for you! Someone gave me the most wonderful looking chocolates and a bottle of prosecco - my first thought was 'oh, if it wasn't for this diet I could have had those,' but when I woke up the next morning I thought 'Oh good, if it wasn't for this diet I WOULD have had those and they would have done me no good whatsoever!'

Seafour · 20/05/2018 12:19

Guymartin sorry you're feeling blue, if you haven't been on the tablets for long just take your time reducing and you should be fine. Thanks

JuneBalloon · 20/05/2018 12:33

Despite having put weight in this morning I am feeling AMAZING today - the deep sleep and long lie helped! Have so much energy... Have also just noticed my nails have really grown - must be all the cream and yoghurt. Another plus to the diet (not that I do long nails at all - I have 'man hands' so like to keep them short).

@GuyMartinsSideburns Tell your doctor you're weaning yourself off the tablets (by phone - don't wait for your appointment) though are you sure that's what is causing your problems? Remember that they can take up to 6 weeks to work. Based on the little you've said, it sounds like stress/tension and I would recommend a trip to a chiropractor or Physio first. Good luck...

@BIWI - no I am definitely constipated, I am not a frequent pooer and that is normal for me, but i feel bloated and have left sided abdo pain. I already use the strong coffee but that trick is not working at the moment... may consider the magnesium, don't think I am brave enough for sugar free haribo! Too much cream and ful fat yogurt does tend to upset my stomach but in a not very pleasant painful way, so there is that as a last resort...

I am a bit ibs-y anyway so might just be a phase that will go the other way soon! 😩

randomuntrainedcuntowner · 20/05/2018 13:17

@BIWI - another question, I quite like the effervescent vit c tablets as often I will take them with a pint of water so it ups my fluid uptake, plus any of the fizzy tablets appear to have sodium etc for added electrolytes, but they tend to have artificial sweeteners - is this acceptable or should I continue to avoid?

randomuntrainedcuntowner · 20/05/2018 13:18

The one thing I like about this woe is I never seem to get gassy, however my bowels just come to a complete standstill! Confused

FlowinElla · 20/05/2018 14:01

Thanks blackteaplease

Good luck, GuyMartins

Regarding Oppo ice cream, I have tried Chocolate and Vanilla flavours, and they are not just lovely, but also don't raise my blood sugar (as a T2 diabetic, I check the effect of all new foods). I also find it satisfying, unlike Haagen-Dazs which I couldn't stop eating until the whole tub was gone!

RuffleBelly · 20/05/2018 14:07

Well just done my lengthy kayak and I was fine, none of the energy issues from yesterdays run, phew!

B was scrambled egg and one sausage (one of the Heck ones which seem quite low carb)

L was a hard boiled egg made into egg mayo in gem lettuce cups topped with finely diced cucumber - I preferred that to a normal sandwich!

RuffleBelly · 20/05/2018 14:10

Thanks @BIWI for the dressing, that sounds good and quite easy, I'll give it a go.

BIWI · 20/05/2018 14:19

@DaughterDrowningInJunk

I have made myself really ill eating stuff that doesnt agree with me. On Friday I ate 2 babybels at work because I was so hungry (I don't usually eat anything between meals). Cheese does not agree with me. In fact the only dairy I can eat is yoghurt.

Please don't do this! Shock

Please eat food that you like. If you eat stuff you don't like or makes you feel ill, it's a sure fire guarantee that you will quickly give up.

I think it might be a combination of simply eating too much and dehydration due to reactions to foods

Not really sure why you're over-eating, or why you should get dehydation, unless you're suffering from rampant diarrhoea - in which case, again, stop eating food that doesn't agree with you - and stop eating when you're full!

I'm really sorry that you're feeling so awful, and I really don't want you to be poorly! But surely you can find a way to eat low carb/high fat food by choosing foods that you like, and that don't disagree with you?

Thinking about breakfast, you don't have to eat yoghurt or eggs. Eat anything you fancy! Breakfast isn't a different meal from all other ones; it doesn't require special foods. Just treat it as another meal.

I know I should weigh myself but seeing that I have put on loads of the weight I lost will send me over the edge. I know how stupid that sounds but I am barely coping with life at the moment. I threw all my fat clothes out and I am going to have to go by how my now clothes feel.

I'm really sorry to read this. Can I suggest that you simply don't weigh yourself? It's not obligatory, and in fact judging progress by the fit of your clothes is a much more tangible way to do it. I wouldn't want anything we talk about on Bootcamp to make you feel even worse.

Flowers Sounds like you're having a tough time, and I would hate to think that Bootcamp is making you ill, either mentally or physically Sad

@randomuntrainedcuntowner I was also an IBS sufferer, until I started low carbing. One completely unexpected side effect was the end of those symptoms. Hopefully that will happen for you too.

Re the vitamin C, it would be better not to have artificial sweeteners, but I think I'd probably say these are OK - but if your weight loss is very slow, or you're not seeing a loss, I'd probably knock them on the head quickly!

@DaughterDrowningInJunk I hope you're feeling better now, don't eat if you feel you are full as I think this is your tummy telling you it's had enough? Unless I've misunderstood.
I also seem to be getting through a lot of mayo - i bloody love it.

Have you guys tried putting coconut oil in your coffee to keep you fuller? it's a bit gross but seems to work.

I've had an amazing week and already lost 5 pounds so far and feeling really good, but i've struggled to keep up with the thread sometimes as i work 12 hour shifts and i'm so tired by the end of the day.

I'm having a takeaway tonight because i'm round a family friends and that's what she's decided we're having for dinner...grrr... is donner meat acceptable for keto? or am i best just sticking with like a chicken kebab as i think that's literally just chicken (obviously no wrap or anything) and just with salad. I'm so annoyed as we were going to be cooking together but she's backed out and just wants a takeaway.

Mueslibox · 20/05/2018 15:38

lardons with mushrooms, grated courgette, pesto and craime fraiche for lunch.

turkey chili for dinner hopefully!

wearing another pair of previously too-tight jeans!

BIWI · 20/05/2018 15:58

Barbecue this afternoon/evening:

Home-made burgers (high fat beef mince, with some finely chopped shallot); no bun for me, obviously!

Lamb steaks, currently marinading in olive oil, mint and garlic

Pork kebabs (pork mince, lemon grass, chilli, mint, coriander and olive oil)

The Black Farmer sausages (always cook these on the barbecue, even if we're not going to eat them, just to have in the fridge for snacking)

Prawns, marinaded in olive oil, chilli, garlic and lime juice

Aubergine 'steaks' with a yoghurt sauce (yoghurt with pink grapefruit zest and juice and garlic)

Halloumi with a lemon and coriander dressing

More than enough food for DH and I this evening, but fantastic way to fill the fridge with LC delights for the rest of the week Grin)

Re IBS, I always have virtually no flatulence on this WOE, guess it's all the sugar/yeast/ alcohol etc. And a much flatter tum! 😀

Destinysdaughter · 20/05/2018 16:04

Rather, it's all the lack of the above, if that makes sense?

Rayna37 · 20/05/2018 16:23

DDIJ just another week and you can have porridge again. OK not actual oats but you can make a great "porridge" using a combination of ground almonds, ground flax seeds and chia seeds etc, once we're into boot camp light. You can add coconut oil and some kind of nut butter too (the kind that's literally just nuts, not sun pat etc!). I restrict to once or twice a week as it's more carby than eggs, but it's totally acceptable.

Yarboosucks · 20/05/2018 16:26

So after my day of hedonism, I have fasted today. No hardship as it is so hot! Just lots of water, flushing out and burning up the carbs.

Fast will be broken by Thai prawns - lots of ginger, lemongrass, chilli and garlic n stuff - they are marinating now. Serviced with fried baby lettuce.

Yum - only 2.5 hours to go

Waswittyonce · 20/05/2018 16:30

Just been out for usual Sunday lunch with MIL and DH at MIL's favourite place. DH went to the bar and ordered. Came back to say they'd run out of salad Shock I'd asked for buttermilk chicken because without it at this place it's always dry. When it came I realised it was covered in breadcrumbs, so I spent ages carefully peeling off the breadcrumb coating under cover of the menu, so that MIL didn't see. (She's never had a problem with her weight and is a bit critical, so I don't talk about it any more) Managed to casually drop my napkin over the evidence as the waitress came to take the plates away, and she was none the wiser.
Had sparkling water with lemon and lime slices to drink and told her it was g&t! Bit hungry now mind, as it was only a sliver of chicken under the coating, but plan scoffing the crayfish tails I just bought, in the car on the way home.Grin

Rayna37 · 20/05/2018 16:33

Didn't go as far off track as I could have yesterday. The wedding was pretty informal and food sort of a buffet but brought around in waves; it was a bit hit and miss as to who got what, I did see some great looking kebab skewers, but I only got the chance of a cheese burger and bun so ate it (all of it). In outrage I then had 2 TWO FFS cupcakes with buttercream. Basically anyone who doesn't have fruitcake is no friend of mine (not sure I'd even let Meghan and Harry off that one) and if it's cupcakes, you're dead to me. I had about 4 halves of beer (local ale, not lager, just to clarify) and the toast wine. Not great but overall not much volume. Earlier in the day I had a low carb full English. I did manage to find a gap in BIWI's line and ate a small piece of the hm courgette cake I defrosted for my parents and DH. Having roast pork with great veg later. KOKO and tomorrow is a fresh week, first one down!
