Wow! This is the first time I've had to start a second thread this early!

Please continue to post all your meals, ideas, questions, woes, successes etc here!

I'm currently on a train Oop North with very dodgy wifi so can't guarantee I will see or be able to answer all your questions, but I'll do my best.

Also, tomorrow I'm at a funeral Sad so won't be around very much

And it was after he did brilliantly last night, buying and cooking steak and broccoli. I thought we’d got there.

oldbirdy · 19/05/2018 14:16

Feeling a bit better now. I think I underdid the water yesterday.

Breakfast: greek Yogurt with mint in
Lunch: two chicken skewers with colslaw made with red and white cabbage, some grated cheddar, Greek yogurt and mayonnaise.
Dinner: not sure, going to a royal wedding/ cup final party. I am driving so will stick to mineral water. I am hoping there is a barbeque so I can have meat and salad.

The 1lb I put on earlier in the week is staying on, I suspect I need to drink more water.

MumOfAPickle · 19/05/2018 14:30

Afternoon all, funeral went well yesterday. It was for dh's 97 yr old gran so a celebration of life really and a chance for family to get together and eat and drink

Food wise I did ok. Didn't drink as was driving and tried to load up on as many of the lower carb canapés as possible (they had some scallops with black pudding and chicken skewers), I even picked out the middle of a couple of sandwiches and left the lovely bread on my plate. So far so good but then they brought out mini chocolate eclairs and tiny individual lemon meringue pies....as soon as I saw them my brain just went right, that's it, enough is enough, those we cannot resist. It's something I really need to work on. I had one eclair and two pies. Pretty pissed off with myself to be fair, yummy cake is absolutely one of my weakest points.

But, we did go out to dinner afterwards with dh's cousin and family and I had pork belly and swapped the mash out for extra veg. Not a fry passed my lips despite the others being incredulous of my choice! I really enjoyed it and didn't feel deprived, just drank water and no pudding. I should take the positive that on other diets in the past once I'd slipped up once it would have been fuck it for the rest of the week day.

So today so far, eggs and spinach for breakfast, gym session and then leeks, chicken me spinach fried up with some pesto, soft cheese and a dash of double cream. Absolutely lush. Oh and co-ops own full fat soft cheese is nearly half the carbs of Philadelphia at 2.8g per 100g so that was a good find as it's great for making a creamy sauce.

Out again tonight, going to Bill's - anyone got any recommendations?

I'm having a crisis of confidence, not in this WOE but in my body's ability to actually lose any weight.
I'm sticking to the rules, eating as little dairy as possible and have lost 2lbs in six days.
Last year I lost 7lbs in week one.
My son

BIWI · 19/05/2018 14:47

Sorry @Seafour, but you've still lost weight! Don't compare different Bootcamps - circumstances are always difference. And 2lbs in six days is pretty good going.

@DDIJ

List out for me what you've been eating and drinking. You haven't put your starting weight on the spreadsheet (which you don't have to, obviously!), which means I can't see how much water you should be drinking. But if you can tell me what your menus have been I'll see if there's anything obvious I can spot.

RuffleBelly · 19/05/2018 15:00

@MumOfAPickle I was going to have leeks and noticed they were oddly high carb - not sure but I think they were red on the spreadsheet. I did another cheese based lunch but going to plan better for next week

Seafour · 19/05/2018 15:05

Sorry posted too soon, thanks BIWI

I'm having a crisis because- it's eight weeks until my sons wedding.
I'm 5'2" and spend most of my life in a wheelchair. I currently wear a size 14 and feel hideous. I want my family to be proud of me on the day but most of all I want to be able to look in the mirror (back at photos) and feel happy.

Ten years ago I became disabled and gained four stone, I've lost two and have just over two to go to reach pre disabled weight. I don't expect to get there for July but I want to be at least a dress size smaller.

My logical side tells me that every little bit that comes off improves the situation but I'm so afraid of looking at myself on the day and hating what I see in the mirror Sad

Food today:

B none as we ate late yesterday but had a creamy coffee
L prawn salad with oily dressing
D mince with cauliflower & spinach

Water: on target for 3L

DramaAlpaca · 19/05/2018 15:27

Well I'll confess to trying a glass of red last night but I couldn't finish it, which is a first for me. It just didn't taste good. Which is weird.

DH made a lovely stir fry last night. I had chicken & veg, he had noodles on the side. I managed to stop him putting oyster sauce in it, but only found out later he'd thrown in a few sesame seeds. Oops.

I'm mainlining water again today & the scales were down again this morning. I can't quite get my head around it, but it does seem to be working.

KOKO everyone.

farine · 19/05/2018 15:27

@Seafour your size and height is the same as me. Trust me you (we!) are not hideous!

Just sticking with bootcamp and having a steady weekly loss between now and the wedding will have a dramatic impact on your self confidence as well as your appearance.

Have you started thinking about what you will wear / hair etc for the wedding? You must be excited

MumOfAPickle · 19/05/2018 15:35

ruffle you had me panicking then but I've just checked the spreadsheet and leeks are definitely in the green bit at 2.9, phew!

Sosogoodagain · 19/05/2018 15:43

dehydration, liver damage, headaches, wrinkly skin, and weight gain are not a 'treat'

I need this in neon all over my house!

Ballsed up last night. Had a couple of gins. Hey ho. I'd had a crap day. Normally I'd order pizza/chippy tea but I chose to have a yummy tuna salad instead.

I'm pleased I managed that, at least!

Seafour · 19/05/2018 15:54

Farine thank you, I have thought a lot about what to wear. I hate some of the stuff that's in the shops at the moment. If I wear a huge botanical print I'm in danger of looking like a pot plant! It's so much harder when I will be in my chair all day, I love hats but again because of the chair it has to be tall rather than wide or people will just be looking down on the top of my hat.
I have an outfit I wore to a wedding last Sep which my DIL to be loves and I've also seen a jumpsuit that I like and would definitely wear again. I just feel a bit meh about it at the moment.

AromaticSpices · 19/05/2018 16:10

Feeling proud of myself today. Went to a local sailing club open day and the pub next door had a barbecue menu and big outdoor bbq, so I had barbecued chicken breast with a Caesar salad (I asked for dressing on the side, so I left it), Which had lots of bacon, Parmesan, chicken, and lettuce.

Slightly annoyed that DH forgot to pick up the picnic bag that I’d prepared earlier, with chicken drumsticks and hb eggs for me, and sandwiches and fruit for everyone else. But we found good food so DH was off the hook Hmm

Not on target for water but have had about 1.5l definitely so could still pull it back. It’s hard when out and about as I really have poor bladder control Blush

AromaticSpices · 19/05/2018 16:12

Seafour I bet if you gave it another week or two you’d see the results of bootcamp and shopping might be more enjoyable Smile

GiantPandaAttacks · 19/05/2018 16:26

Managed to get to the end of the thread finally. Have stayed on track but might have overdone it on the cream front so far today.
B: Sausages & wilted spinach
S: pork scratchings, cream
L: unsure. Might be a pork pattie.
D: chickens and leafy vegetables.

AthelstaneTheUnready · 19/05/2018 16:31

Seafour, it's all in the right direction though! Maybe instead of 10 this week, and 2 next week, you'll have 6 next week as well. It's a bit early to despair. Flowers

maxthemartian · 19/05/2018 16:32

Much less bloated today. No wonder really after getting up to wee four times last night!
Yesterday had Greek yogurt and cream for breakfast, eggs, 97% sausage, mushroom, shallot and spring green frittata for lunch and salmon, spinach, asparagus and mushrooms for dinner. Added loads of butter and oil to the veggies.

Absolutely starving today.

tartantroosers · 19/05/2018 16:44

Placemarking!

itchyknees · 19/05/2018 16:48

How much cheese is too much? I had cheese omelette for breakfast, and babybel snacks and a feta-heavy salad and I’m having cauliflower cheese for tea. Too much?

OrlandaFuriosa · 19/05/2018 16:53

Biwi, prob a question you’ve answered a million times before, is butter better to cook with than olive oil? I’ve tended recently to use the latter.

BIWI · 19/05/2018 17:45

Butter is probably better but it can burn easily. I use a mixture of both

Today:
PT session first thing. Then two hard boiled eggs mashed with butter. Chinese class then had some FF yoghurt with vanilla.

Dinner will be roasted pork shoulder, with a crust made from ground fennel seeds, black pepper, garlic, lemon zest and chilli flakes. Along with that I'm experimenting - have some red cabbage wedges marinating in olive oil and lemon juice which I'm going to griddle, probably served with some griddled baby courgettes.

DH is away next week so my fridge is wonder of healthiness. Lots of green veg. And I bought some frozen spinach disks and frozen cauli.
Today I had greek yoghurt with cream and a left over sausage for breakfast and a boiled egg. Lunch was a picky thing of cheese, chorizo and octopus in olive oil. I have had a snack of whelks (from the shell) and aioli. Out for dinner tonight as dd is at a concert at her school, so we're eating round the corner for ease of picking her up. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for some decent choices. The wine really is an issue - it's become far too much of a habit and I am struggling. Though at least I am mindful - hanging on til much, much later before having a glass. Something to work on. The eating part I am not struggling too much with at all. I haven't had enough water yet today.

BrassicaBabe · 19/05/2018 18:03

Did you know rhubarb is a veg?! I had to google it Grin. Only 2.7g carb per 100g. I've just had a heap of it with natural sweetener. It's very filling.
