Wow! This is the first time I've had to start a second thread this early!

Please continue to post all your meals, ideas, questions, woes, successes etc here!

I'm currently on a train Oop North with very dodgy wifi so can't guarantee I will see or be able to answer all your questions, but I'll do my best.

Also, tomorrow I'm at a funeral Sad so won't be around very much

BIWI your dinner sounds yummy, would it be rude to ask for a photo? Loving the sound of the red cabbage wedges.

I'm loving the meals on this thread, I've ordered an electric spiraliser and will report back when it's arrived.

TheyBuiltThePyramids · 19/05/2018 18:13

I bought some courgetti today. I am interested to see what it is like.

UnimaginativeUsername · 19/05/2018 18:19

I had Korean barbecue beef for dinner, wrapped in lettuce leaves, with lots of veg sides: garlicy mushrooms, cabbage with sesame oil, lemongrass broccoli with sesame oil, salted cucumber, kimchi. The marinade for the beef isn’t ideal for bootcamp but I just had a little bit (with no sauce) and mostly a plate full of green stuff. I had been meaning to keep some of the steak aside for me, but I forgot and bunged it all in the marinade out of habit.

Yarboosucks · 19/05/2018 18:53

DISASTER OF A DAY! I knew it would be! DH bought me the most enormous and OTT brownie (with bacon on it!) I will have some tonight and then tomorrow I will repent, repent, repent.

That said, I have had a marvellous day! completely avoided the wedding but celebrated life with some great friends. Not a day to deny ones self was the consensus and who and I to argue.

Yarboosucks · 19/05/2018 18:55

On the upside, everyone said how well and much younger I looked. What weight loss I have achieved is not visible to the rest of the world, but my face does look better and sort of lifted.

Destinysdaughter · 19/05/2018 18:56

Does anyone have any fab kale recipes? I've been growing it in my garden and I've now got tons of the stuff! The only thing I've done with it are kale chips on the last BC ( which are yummy btw! )

SummerRayne17 · 19/05/2018 19:13

Evening All

Struggling to get through all the thread but glad to see so many people still on plan 👍🏼

For the first time in God knows how long, I actually got my pasty legs out today in a size 14 shorts play suit. My legs are most definitely slimmer than last week and belly has reduced substantially. I still have a long way to go to get back to size 8 (to be honest, id be happy at 10!) but I felt a lot better than I have done for a while.

Todays meals:
B - Aldi 10% Greek style yoghurt with a dash of double cream and vanilla extract - Black coffee

L - Belly pork slices with asparagus and baby corn, roasted in olive oil.

D - Tandoori chicken, mixed veg.
Dessert - 10cal jelly with double cream.

S - FF mini babybel.

Loads of water!

I've managed to avoid the temptation of beer, even though my DH is supping a cold one in the sunshine! (Sigh!)

I was drinking too much prior to starting this WOE, so this detox is doing me the world of good! 😊

JimmyGrimble · 19/05/2018 19:24

I fell off the wagon yesterday at my much loved MILs funeral ... was catered for and had a lovely plate of cold meats and salad with mayo then stupidly accepted a piece of cheesecake and ate it without thinking... then my OH bought me a slimline G&T for a toast. Feel like I’ve let myself down a bit. Only weighing weekly so we’ll see come Monday. Back on it today!

MyShinyThing · 19/05/2018 19:29

I have to confess to a slice of lemon tart. It's my favourite & we never ever have it but my mum had bought one & I didn't resist. I was going to say I couldn't but I could have if I'd wanted to! Everything else has been beyond reproach though, and no alcohol at all.

Tomorrow we are having people over for a BBQ so everything but the burger buns will be boot camp friendly.

Thank you for the spearmint tea tip Mandelinka. I ordered some & it arrived today, it's really tasty. I've made a big bottle of it cold as well, it's lovely with ice.

Well done everyone that's stayed on track, there are some great food ideas on here. KOKO to those of us who have strayed!

MyShinyThing · 19/05/2018 19:31

Sorry Jimmy I X posted then. I think it sounds like you did very well on what must have been a very difficult day. Don't beat yourself up, just carry on going from here. Thanks

clare8allthepies · 19/05/2018 19:34

Just had a really yummy dinner of chicken curry and saag paneer, sat here sniffling now as it was very spicy!

MrsBertBibby · 19/05/2018 19:47

Lovely tea of roast mushroom topped with a mix of shallot (fried til soft, then add garlic, allow to cool, add parmesan and shredded basil) and then talleggio cheese on top, and baked for another 10 mins. The original recipe has sundried tomatoes added with the garlic, and it is even more amazing with them, but bloody yum without.

Leaves and avocado on the side.

DramaAlpaca · 19/05/2018 19:59

Sorry for your loss Jimmy Flowers

We threw lamb burgers & low carb sausages on the bbq tonight. I had mine with salad & avocado with plenty of oil drizzled over. DH was going to have a bun but turned his back for a second & the dog stole it, so he had to go low carb too Grin

SummerRayne17 · 19/05/2018 20:03

@JimmyGrimble sorry for your loss. Don't beat yourself up about breaking the rules, put it behind you and move on. I'm sure it won't have had a massive impact on your fat loss. Tomorrow is a new day 💐

SummerRayne17 · 19/05/2018 20:05

@MyShinyThing I have to admit, Lemon Tart is my fave too and I would have struggled to turn it down as well! You do only live once, and you enjoyed that moment, so don't stress too much. Back on the wagon now! 👍🏼

SummerRayne17 · 19/05/2018 20:06

@MrsBertBibby Your tea sounds lush! I've never heard of that cheese before.

BlackMozart · 19/05/2018 20:28

Evening everyone. What a lovely day it has been. I am not a royalist but I am definitely a romantic and I thought it all looked magical today.

blacktea thank you for noticing I’d gone from the list ! I can’t access it from my iPad so athel if you or some other kind soul could add 100 in to my row/cell I would be very grateful. I do know my weight but for now I’m going to just subtract from that.

I’ve had to really grit my teeth today to keep away from the wine just because it’s been such a lovely day and habitually wine and sunshine go together for me. I have managed it, and staying off chocolate too but only because I keep telling myself that it is only 2 weeks officially for the strict bootcamp (obviously we can do more) and any lapses now (especially alcoholic ones) just cause stalls for me. If I want to lose then I have to stick to the rules! It does make me worry about Monday’s weigh in because I will get very fed up if I don’t lose BUT I will do the second week whatever.

Big thanks to whoever it was who suggested mashing eggs with butter because it is fab. I may already of posted this but it’s moving so fast I can’t remember!

BlackMozart · 19/05/2018 20:31

I also hope the funerals attended by posters have gone as well as they could today. I don’t think with the stress of a funeral anyone should be worrying about what they ate. Back to it tomorrow. 💐

BIWI · 19/05/2018 20:37

-----------------------
That's the line. We've drawn it under whatever has happened today, for whatever reason

However, you all need to understand that while it may be justifiable, cheating (which is what it is) will have a result when it comes to weighing in

We can all be as sympathetic with each other as we like. But ultimately, when we get on the scales on Monday (or measure, or try on that item of clothing that's just that bit too tight), if we aren't happy with what we see, we have to accept that 'actions have consequences'

Sorry for what is no doubt a massive downer.

But it's a simple truth. No-one can lose weight for you. You have to do it for yourself.

UnimaginativeUsername · 19/05/2018 20:51

Thanks for the reminder @BIWI.

I am enjoying my Saturday night several cups of water. Grin

My plan for food tomorrow is to eat:
B: bacon and eggs.
L: salad with haloumi and avocado
D: chicken pho (with extra Chinese leaf in place of noodles). I’ll have some Greek yoghurt for pudding.

And, of course, tonnes of water. I’m still drinking the same amount but peeing less. I’m not sure why that would be though.

JuneBalloon · 19/05/2018 20:52

👏👏👏

You are, of course, absolutely right @BIWI... But those of you, like me, that have strayed from the straight and narrow, don't be too hard on yourself and DEFINITELY DON'T GIVE UP. Chalk it up to experience and come back bigger and stronger tomorrow. KOKO!!!

UnimaginativeUsername · 19/05/2018 20:57

Actually I’m going to take the skin off the chicken before I boil it up for the pho, and make crispy chicken skin to have with it. And I’ll make the butter too. That’ll increase the fat content of what I’d otherwise a pretty lean meal.

Destinysdaughter · 19/05/2018 21:02

I know this is hard at first but these 2 weeks are important to get your body to switch from burning carbs to burning fat. The weight will literally drop off you when you do that. So if you're cheating, you're just prolonging the process! I started BC Jan 3 and I've lost 21lbs. I'm now reaping the benefits, flatter tummy, can fit into clothes I haven't worn for ages etc. This phase won't last for ever, I can now be more relaxed with what I eat and drink but at the start it's really important to just stick to it, it's ONLY 2 WEEKS!

clare8allthepies · 19/05/2018 21:16

Oops, just had to amend my weight on the spreadsheet, while feeling like death on Monday I decided 12 Stone 4 was 174 pounds when it’s 172! 🤦🏽‍♀️

Mimosa1 · 19/05/2018 21:23

@Seafour I've also only lost 2lbs (700g) based on an early weigh in although I've been doing bc light, the odd handful of berries and nuts, though no dark choc or alcohol. I've decided on BC light because I've been so run down with colds and coughs that I just couldn't face the thought of carb flu in top of it but once I'm feeling better and this bloody sore throat goes, I'll do strict BC. So, even though I'm disappointed not to have had a whoosh, I'm still pleased with 700g - that for 10 weeks would be 7kg and I'd be squarely in the middle of a healthy BMI. I've got a sunny holiday planned around the same time your son is getting married so I've got bikini body to aim for Wink

I watched the Magic Pill documentary today. Really interesting.
