Morning all!

Here's the SoF once again

Hope that the scales are kind to you this morning.

So we enter the last three weeks. Still time to lose some significant weight. But only if you follow the rules!

It's a difficult time of the year, as Christmas goodies start to appear in the shops, and - I'm guessing - at work and at home as well!

You might find it easier to stay focused if you move back onto Bootcamp for the last two weeks, so you're really making sure that the carby stuff that you might have been indulging in - even if that has just been Bootcamp Light.

Morning, just caught up with the thread. It was my daughter's birthday yesterday so I forgot to weigh (was focused on her all day, as you do!). Weighed this morning and my low has stayed for a few days now, despite eating bread

Scabbersley · 28/11/2017 11:30

So I have decided:
D: homemade beef burger as per the SoF with celeriac chips. The fam can have proper beef burgers with the coleslaw and potato chips.

blackteaplease · 28/11/2017 11:35

Scabbersly why will you need something after lunch? If it is your main meal of the day can't you eat a big enough portion to fill you up, or add more salad on the side?

If not, I would but big pots of yogurt and measure out 100g to eat. I get the tesco finest greek yogurt, not the lowest carb but very thick and creamy.

Scabbersley · 28/11/2017 11:37

Because that's just the way I am. I like a big lunch with two courses. I'd rather do that than have a huge plateful of one course. French heritage Wink

blackteaplease · 28/11/2017 11:40

Fair enough, I would go for cheese or yogurt then.

Mimosa1 · 28/11/2017 11:44

Hi all, really struggling today so posting here instead of falling face first into Starbucks lattes and giant muffins cake or cookies. I am just so bloody tired. Back at full time work and have been up all hours with the children for the past 2 nights as they're a bit under the weather. Previously, I'd have fuelled myself with carbs and caffeine. I've had 2 cups of string tea and 2 of strong coffee, all but one with Ff milk as I can't face it black at the moment. All I want to do is crawl back to bed. My DH is just as tired as I am and we've started doing that competitive tiredness thing which is grim and not conductive to family harmony! Trying to remind myself that I'll have more energy overall - eventually - when I'm slim but aaaaaaaaaaaargh!!!!!

Scabbersley · 28/11/2017 11:45

Yes that's what I normally do (in fact I would 'normally' have some fruit and have found myself looking longingly at the clementines and apples in the bowl Sad

TimeIhadaNameChange · 28/11/2017 12:08

Scabbersley - Try not to be disheartened by stalls. I seem to have spent most of this woe at stalls! Yet, at the same time, I've lost 7 lbs this BC and 24 lbs since May, so, although it feels as though the scales never move they must be doing so at some time. I'd really like to lose the next 3.3 lbs at that would take me down to a 2 stone loss, and them I want another stone off (and with that, hopefully, my tummy). I suspect it will take me another 6 months to get there if not longer, which is marginally depressing. Hey ho!

In the meantime go and juggle 10 blocks of butter in the supermarket! That's what you've lost so far. It's a great loss!!!!!

pimmsy · 28/11/2017 12:41

@Mimosa1 well done for resisting starbucks.
I have my period and am craving sugar. I have to walk past starbucks on my way home. I'll think of you and not get anything!

TimbuktuTimbuktu · 28/11/2017 15:27

Oh I just caved and had some rocky road. Stupid period. I should have gone out and got some dark chocolate.

Cravings are bad today!

Grimbles · 28/11/2017 15:46

Grah0SoontobeaFitty · 28/11/2017 15:58

@slobsister
As a guy, when DW cooks a meal for me, I better not bitch about it otherwise I'll either being cooking my own in future or wearing it.

But, as already mentioned, cook whatever your having and give him the rich fatty sauce and a microwave potato.

The meal will be LCHF but not Ketogenic. LC is under 150gms a day for guys. Ketogenic is the 20gm.

If 28% of his daily calories come from carbs, the rest from healthy fats and protein he'll be LCHF'ing without even knowing it.

He'll see you skipping the potato think you're on a diet and he is not.
He's happy, your happy = happy life.

DW told me, when drunk, she just lets me think it was my idea or my way and carries on with whatever she wanted to do in the first place. In the long run DHs, don't need to know very much about how things happen around the home, they just get in the DW way. ( ps 3 grown up daughters agree with DW )

Grah0SoontobeaFitty · 28/11/2017 16:01

@TimbuktuTimbuktu

Quick have a Bacon and buttery egg omelet or BPC or both. Taste the creamy sugar/carb free food.

blackteaplease · 28/11/2017 16:04

I've had a day at home with dc3 and been picking all day. It was all lchf but too many snacks I only managed to curb the cravings for food by having Bovril with butter whisked in.

Grah0SoontobeaFitty · 28/11/2017 16:07

Brought some Garlic infused butter put a tsp in a microwave egg cup
5 seconds crack egg, pop yoke with for 43 seconds later lovely butter poached egg for the salad.

Well saw 191.8 on the scales this morning yeah, wanted to double check 192.4, 192.4 192.4 pick up shake 192.4 dam must have lost some lift from the lighter than air gas leak.

Which means @scabbersly don't worry about the little fluctuations focus on the long term slow slope all the ladies with champion loses over the year saw ups and downs but KOKO and looked for the NSV it will work if you work for it.

HarlotsWeb · 28/11/2017 18:43

B Creamy coffee and ff Greek yoghurt
S Cappuccino at station
L Celery and pâté
D Swede-topped shepherds pie

BlackMozart · 28/11/2017 19:23

Checking in or should that be sidling in hoping not be noticed...
‘Forgot’ to weight myself because I was rushing out to a client and also because having felt ‘thinner yesterday, I felt fatter this morning and couldn’t face it ☹️
I will grit my teeth and weigh tomorrow morning. No point in avoiding it I know. I haven’t done any carby twatting but just feel solid and heavy.

BlackMozart · 28/11/2017 19:26

On the plus side I really like mashed swede 😊Can someone remind what that microwaved Brussels sprout thing is that everyone raves about? I bought some today but can’t remember what to do. Thank you. 😊

Rshard · 28/11/2017 19:27

The scales might surprise you blackmozart.

B - bacon mushrooms scrambled eggs
L - rollitos - forgot to make lunch at home
D - chicken cauliflower swede Brussels

prettybird · 28/11/2017 19:36

BlackMozart - prepare the brussels (chop end off and any scabby outer leaves), put into bowl with a slab of butter. Microwave for 2+ minutes (I just put a plate on top of the bowl for minimum faff). Shoogle. technical term Wink Microwave for another 2 minutes. Season.

Easy peasy! Grin

Rshard · 28/11/2017 20:12

They’re delicious

BlackMozart · 28/11/2017 20:14

Prettybird and Rshard thank you. That is tomorrow’s treat ! Can’t wait. My DH who loves sprouts will be fighting me for them 😀

Grimbles · 28/11/2017 20:40

Why is my bread purple! Confused

BlackMozart · 28/11/2017 20:47

On one of the earlier Bootcamp weeks someone else had purple bread so I think you are not alone. Sorry Grimbles I can’t remember which week though.

Mimosa1 · 28/11/2017 20:51

Pimmsy I don't think I've ever been an inspiration before! Hope avoiding Starbucks wasn't too painful. I wish I didn't have to walk past it so often as I really do like it this time of year.

I ended up having a coule of cherries from the work fruit bowl, lunch out at an Indian restaurant on a grill (although I think the marinade had some sugar) - but it could have been a lot worse, as I resisted the siren song of Starbucks stodge. Lovely DH made me dinner tonight - courgetti and bolognese and cheese so that was nice. I just want to be thin NOW waaah. Right. Getting a grip. I've just had my hair coloured (it looks rather nice if i say so myself) and I'm below my Lowvember goal of 75 so onwards and downwards.

I totally get that bit about spending most of this WOE on a stall, but the scale still moving over time. I'd never really thought about it like that - food for thought! I weigh daily and it tends to be same-same-same then a woosh, roughly avoir 80/20%. I tend to have one mini-woosh per week or so. So even if you're losing, if you weigh every day and you're like me, roughly 6 out of 7 days there's nothing v exciting to report. No wonder it can be a bit frustrating. I find that when I've had a mini-woosh that day, I'm so much more motivated to carry on or rather that it's much harder when it hasn't happened, i.e. Most of the time. Good job I've got you all to vent to Grin
