Morning all!

Here's the SoF once again

Hope that the scales are kind to you this morning.

So we enter the last three weeks. Still time to lose some significant weight. But only if you follow the rules!

It's a difficult time of the year, as Christmas goodies start to appear in the shops, and - I'm guessing - at work and at home as well!

You might find it easier to stay focused if you move back onto Bootcamp for the last two weeks, so you're really making sure that the carby stuff that you might have been indulging in - even if that has just been Bootcamp Light.

Still in the 190's and after bouncing up to 197 back down to 194 this week.

Thinking the advice given for maintenance of allowing a float weight range and a focus 10-21 days if bounced over for maintenance is good.

Most importantly tho is remembering that
what comes out of one's mouth can hurt others
but
what goes in one's mouth can hurt yourself.
So watch out for yourselves as you do others.

Can you believe we are on Day 1 of 21,
can we look forward to the challenge and see where the last 49 days got us. Have those odd bad days been replaced with a proud achievement?

Congratulations everyone on your new numbers and NSV's.

Why aren't I losing more weight?? Will weigh again in the morning but according to the scales tonight I have put on three pounds since last week. I've been a regular poster girl for LCHF! Except for some wine at the weekend I've eaten nothing sweet or carby. Feeling very miserable! Hopefully in the morning I'll have at least sts

RaininSummer · 27/11/2017 23:15

Scabbersley,I feel your pain. I have barely strayed from low carb righteousness since May yet my scales show three pound up. Overall, however, I am a stone down which is awesome.

Scabbersley · 27/11/2017 23:16

I am beginning to think my body will only lose weight if it is literally starving

Scabbersley · 27/11/2017 23:20

Today I've eaten
B nothing
L tuna mayo, then konjac noodles w broccoli, egg and soy
D: pork scratchings, some chorizo and cream pasta sauce with rocket
Lots of water

Scabbersley · 27/11/2017 23:21

I've lost 10lbs but I am now worried that I could literally put all that back on over Christmas Sad

prettybird · 27/11/2017 23:23

Scabbersley - have you been having enough water? And fat?

Scabbersley · 27/11/2017 23:32

Possibly not enough water as I felt bizarre when I was drinking 3l a day. I've drunk a good 2l today. Fat, yes I think so. Lots of olive oil and mayo. I've even given up milk and now only drink almond milk in everything

Rshard · 28/11/2017 06:37

Maintenance advice is really interesting, not there yet but that’s where I’ve failed in the past.
Yesterday’s food
B - buttery scrambled eggs
L - lettuce rocket spinach radish cucumber tuna mayo 5 cherry tomatoes
D - bolognaise and courgette spirals - I love this!

HarlotsWeb · 28/11/2017 06:57

Maintenance has always been a problem for me too. I think the problem might be that I have always fallen out of a weighing routine, so if I make sure I schedule a weekly prompt or something on my phone, that might help me to stay mindful and not kid myself that nothing is creeping back on.

NSV of feeling I was moving really quite lightly on the steps to the platform this morning.

HarlotsWeb · 28/11/2017 07:00

Yesterday's food:

B Creamy coffee
L ff Greek yoghurt
D pork and broccoli stir fry
S mini packet of maltesers (I was a bit cockahoop at my Lowvember success, and thinking I could lose any gain from them, and still be at Lowvember target at the end of the month.)

Rshard · 28/11/2017 07:02

I’m definitely going to weigh in weekly too harlots.

Just picking up on grah’s wise words about seeing where the last 49 days have got us. I think that’s really important too

HarlotsWeb · 28/11/2017 07:09

I think when I'm properly lighter I will have more exercise embedded in my life, and hopefully that will help. (I tend to wait till some weight is off through diet first, because a) my joints struggle a bit when really heavy and b) I just feel more like moving when lighter, and it helps to ride that feeling and feel positive rather than reluctant)

TimbuktuTimbuktu · 28/11/2017 07:20

Scabbers don't weigh in the evening.* I weight 3lbs more at night than the morning always.*

Lizard202 · 28/11/2017 07:32

0.2lb on, so think I'll go back to strict low carbing this week KOKO.

blackteaplease · 28/11/2017 07:42

scabbersly you need to weigh first thing in the morning after a wee. Otherwise you are weighing your food and drink intake for the day

TimeIhadaNameChange · 28/11/2017 09:35

scabbersly - two things:

  1. you'll only put that 10lbs on over Christmas if you choose to go totally off-piste. You don't have to make that decision!
  2. Even if you do put that 10lbs on, then you end up back at your start weight, not start weight +10lbs (and probably more, as I doubt you'll let yourself go as crazy as if you hadn't lost this weight to begin with).

So you'll still be in a better place than you would have been. Keep that thought in mind.

FurryTurnip · 28/11/2017 09:45

Yesterdays food:

B: scrambled egg and half a protein roll with butter
L: leftover roast celeriac and cauliflower cheese
D: Thai Red curry with tofu with cauli rice
S: small handful almonds, two chunks of dark chocolate - currently addicted to Green and Black velvet edition with mint. The orange and almond lovely too.

Today:

B: 2 boiled eggs and half protein roll
L: brocolli and Stilton soup
D: thaj curry and cauliflower rice (recipe made loads!)

ilovecherries · 28/11/2017 10:01

Swans in and announces a 5K run at 7am and another .5 lb off since yesterday :).

SlobSister · 28/11/2017 10:03

Ok thanks for pointing me to the SoF. I had seen it in the first link but had assumed it only had weight losses on it. So I've read it thoroughly now and one of my questions has been answered.

My other question is what do you all do about your DH/DP/rest of the family when eating LC? I'm responsible for cooking our evening meals. There's only me and DH to cook for but I don't want to cook two separate meals. At the same time I'm concerned that he's going to be eating a LCHF meal but will be adding piles of bread/rice/pasta/potatoes to it and won't that be bad for his health? He does need to lose weight but he won't give up starchy carbs and is adamant he won't eat LC. I hope eventually that he'll come onboard once he sees how well I'm doing on LC but realistically, I doubt it.
So how do others handle this?

blackteaplease · 28/11/2017 10:07

Slobsister my dh either eats what I'm having, or I do a portion of rice/noodles for him alongside. I'd have courgette or spinach instead.

I'm lucky that he's not v fussy and is happy to eat what I serve.

SoMuchToBits · 28/11/2017 10:08

Slob, I eat with ds (16) in the evenings. I cook the same stuff for us both, then he has an added carb if he wants. E.g. I might do Bolognese and he will have pasta, or I might do roast meat, he will have potatoes, or I might do baked chicken thighs with Greek veg, he will have a pitta bread. I usually also serve some green veg with the meal, and if I want to add fat, I can put butter on my veg. It seems to work well for us. I haven't really changed the evening meals I do that much.

TimeIhadaNameChange · 28/11/2017 10:10

SlobSister - I'm in the same situation and usually manage to provide variants without too much hassle. Eg I'll make a cheese sauce for pasta, and I'll have a largish portion of that with some veg, whilst he'll have a smaller portion over pasta and with garlic bread. I won't make the sauce massively high fat to start with, but may pour some olive oil over mine at the end. Again with roasts, he'll get potatoes, carrots and parsnips with a little amount of broccoli and cauliflower, whilst I'll heap loads of the latter on my plate and put some butter on them. Occasionally I'll make him something completely different (eg fish pie - I can't stand fish) which he'll have for a few days running whilst I make myself something HFLC, but I enjoy cooking and really don't mind doing this once in a while.

Rshard · 28/11/2017 11:06

slobsister, fitting this woe in with family meals is one of the reasons I’ve managed so well. I do similar to others have advised and can usually find a lchf fix to most meals. Pies without the party too, tacos in lettuce etc

Scabbersley · 28/11/2017 11:23

TimeIhadaNameChange yes all true!

I weighed 12.2 and 3/4 this morning - so 3/4 of a pound on. I'll probably round it up to 12.3 for the spreadsheet so a pound gained. I've really stalled around this weight and its depressing and annoying because its a long way from where I need to be.

I do need to remember that if I hadn't done Bootcamp, I would almost certainly be looking at 13 stone either now or by after Christmas.

I'm not going to have the protein rolls this week, or any dark chocolate. I will have wine on Friday night though. Also going to limit snacking.

B: bacon and eggs
L: pork rillettes, avocado, lettuce and mayo. I will want something afterwards - if I buy those 170g pots of greek yogurt I eat the whole thing which may be quite high in carbs?? Any ideas for something after? A piece of cheese? Anything else? Lunch is my main meal of the day, I am always hungry then, I am also ALONE which is bliss, so I sit and really enjoy it.
D: don't know AGAIN - have to make something nice tonight otherwise I will just pick. I'm never that hungry.
