Morning all!

Here's the SoF once again

Hope that the scales are kind to you this morning.

So we enter the last three weeks. Still time to lose some significant weight. But only if you follow the rules!

It's a difficult time of the year, as Christmas goodies start to appear in the shops, and - I'm guessing - at work and at home as well!

You might find it easier to stay focused if you move back onto Bootcamp for the last two weeks, so you're really making sure that the carby stuff that you might have been indulging in - even if that has just been Bootcamp Light.

I’m up 0.2lbs for which I’m blaming lack of water and excessive icing consumption. I was three lbs lower three days ago though so hoping to get back down there this week...

Gammeldragz · 27/11/2017 11:09

Have got rid of last week's gain and am now exactly 6lbs off this bootcamp. Too many carbs over the weekend. I would have been lighter otherwise. Back to strict BC for the next two weeks, aside from night out Saturday. I've had too much oppo ice cream, cream and protein rolls recently.

Brunch today was chicken, lettuce, mayo and very small amount if cheese.
Dinner is as yet unplanned. DH is cooking, possibly a fry up if I'm home in time to help. If so, I can have just bacon, sausage and eggs. Not sure what veg, maybe celeriac chips as everyone else is having hash browns.

Well done on all the losses!

SayrraT · 27/11/2017 11:11

Think I've fixed it blacktea

BrassicaBabe · 27/11/2017 11:11

@FurryTurnip I’m nearly ready to consider maintenance too....

FurryTurnip · 27/11/2017 11:15

That's good to know @brassicababe it would be good to have someone to go into maintenance with. Not the best time of year to be trying it though!

BrassicaBabe · 27/11/2017 11:23

Of maybe now if the perfect time to consider maintenance before Xmas madness kicks in Grin

pimmsy · 27/11/2017 11:24

Happy Monday bootcampers.

I was a carby twat this weekend. In the form of chocolate mousses, lots of baguette, wine, biscuits and chocolate tart and apples. I went to stay with friends who are having a very difficult time at the moment and we just ate and ate. Although it helped a little with the sorrow, I got back home last night and felt awful. And woke up this morning ravenous.

This week will be better. I had coffee for breakfast. I'm going to have "oeuf cocotte" for lunch which is what I had when we were out for supper on Saturday and was lovely and would have been fine if I hadn't have had half the bread basket and a load of red wine with it.

I need to go shopping this evening.

I haven't weighed in yet because I don't have scales at home and I'm also scared of the impact of my carb festival weekend.

I did weigh in on Friday evening though and was down to 73.4kg I hope I've stayed stable at least, that I think I can deal with.

FurryTurnip · 27/11/2017 11:40

You are right Brassica. Can possibly get a couple of weeks of maintenance in before Christmas.

Have you thought about how you are planning to do maintenance? I've been trying to find info but struggling. I'm certainly not planning to reintroduce bread, pasta or potatoes on a regular basis. The main thing I want is to be able to be flexible on a night out and have some naan bread with a low carb curry, for example. Also want to reintroduce some lentil and beans in small amounts. And maybe the occasional sweet potato and porridge oats.

I think sugar is my massive trigger for falling into a carb trap so will avoid all that.

I think I am planning to try a higher carb food once or twice a week on maintenance, track the macros and see if there's any effect on weight.

One question for BIWI or any other expert, if I increase my carbs on maintenance do I need to reduce my fat? As you can see I don't know what to do! Part of me is tempted to lower my goal to 10.7 just so I can stay on bootcamp for couple more weeks!

Singadream · 27/11/2017 11:57

4lb loss this week (total 15lb overall) and over 6% of body weight - am very pleased. And loads of leftovers from the weekend to get me through the next few days.

Jerm123 · 27/11/2017 12:04

Hi, a question for anyone who has lost 50lbs plus weight - did you skin shrink back with the weight loss? It’s really bothering me. I know it is still healthier to loose the weight but as I, in my mid 50s, I worry my skin won’t be as supple as it was.
—I know it’s a pretty intrusive question, but better on-line than real life— Blush
Thanks

StuntNun · 27/11/2017 12:08

I had yet more sabotage from DH this weekend. This time it was prunes wrapped in bacon and a little Gu chocolate pot. Probably not too bad from a carb point of view but then I thoroughly self-sabotaged myself with too much wine. So I have STS this week. Oh well, onward and downwards!

ASDismynormality · 27/11/2017 12:13

Jerm123, I'm 39 and have lost over 100lbs this year - I look like a deflated balloon Sad

ilovecherries · 27/11/2017 12:23

Jerm, see my post up thread about this - on the first page. I'm 59, and have lost 50lbs. So far so good but I'm not sure if my skin will cope with the next 20. I did develop a few stretch marks at 35 lbs off, but they are fading to silver already. I think a lot of it is down to genetic luck. My skin survived pregnancy fairly well, too, but my babies were prem so I never had the last 5-7 weeks where a lot of damage happens.

Jerm123 · 27/11/2017 12:25

ASD thanks for letting me know. I suspected that may be the case Sad oh well if it happens, i’ll have to cross that bridge....

blackteaplease · 27/11/2017 12:28

Thanks cleareyes and sayrra. The spreadsheet is working for me now.

I am happy as I hit my lovember goal and am very nearly at a stone off this B.C. I also have a question about maintenance for any longterm BC folk.

I have done B.C light due to breastfeeding twice be for but fallen off the wagon each time. I am committed this time, my baby and breastfeeding days are behind me and I want my body back. But I have no idea how to do that. Do I just stay on BClite forever? I'm happy to do that if that's what it takes.

Jerm123 · 27/11/2017 12:28

I love cherries, I didn’t get stretch marks but a) it was 23 years ago and b) DS was also 5 weeks early. I think I’ll treat it as a bonus if my skin survives.....

BrassicaBabe · 27/11/2017 12:54

Re maintenance I think maybe sticking with BC til the end to knock another lb or two off if possible because from what I’ve read even on a well controlled maintenance you are likely to put on a lb or two.

Yes,I’m hoping a degree of flexibility can be accommodated. I don’t want to carb load or even eat toast regularly and I’m happy LC for day to day stuff but I like cooking and I make great homemade naan bread and I have a garden pizza oven sat idle.

FurryTurnip · 27/11/2017 13:30

Yes brassica I've also just read about putting a couple of pounds straight back on so maybe I will try and get to 10.7 so I have a bit of a buffer.

prettybird · 27/11/2017 13:59

Woohoo - a whoosh and I've achieved my challenging Lowvember goal! GrinGrin

3lb off this week SmileShockSmileShock - after a 24 22 hour fast from Friday to Saturday night and starting an egg fast yesterday Grin So I've got to my interim target of 12 stone 5lb: chosen because that means that breaking the 12 stone barrier might just be achievable by Christmas Xmas Smile

I'll continue the egg fast up until Thursday night, when I'll be having some carbs in my haggis on St Andrews Day (but at least the neeps mashed with butter will be HFLC friendly and I won't have any mashed potatoes ), to give me a head start on getting towards 12 stone. Smile

Re "loose skin": I've lost 36lb so far. I've been making a point of moisturising my tummy every night but unlike previous Boot Camps I've not bothered with all over moisturising maybe I should So far, it seems my skin is "keeping up" - although like most women, I look better with clothes on! Wink (I posted a front and side shot of me on the last thread so that I could log my progress over the next two stone).

I didn't get any stretch marks with ds though - and he was full term and 8lb 15oz Shock. Although I was very "neat" and the midwife thought that I was going to have a small baby! Confused I think I was just fortunate and have good genes from my mum, who didn't have stretch marks either (after 2 large babies - and my db was a week late).

Scabbersley · 27/11/2017 14:16

Hi all. My scales are broken Shock off to buy a new set later.

Drank wine at the weekend, stayed off the carbs. Haven't been drinking enough but have started again today.

SlobSister · 27/11/2017 14:16

Hello Bootcampers. I'm needing some help with LCHF, I'm thinking it may be right for me but haven't really started yet.
Would it be bad form if I ask a couple of questions on this thread?

Scabbersley · 27/11/2017 14:17

Hi slobsister! Ask away, but read the spreadsheet of fabulousness first!

Cherrypi · 27/11/2017 15:49

4lb overnight gain. That’s crazy so I’m ignoring it and weighing again tomorrow.

Scabbersley · 27/11/2017 16:02

B: nothing
L: came home starving. Had tuna, lettuce and mayo (that delouis mayo is so good I could eat it straight out of the jar), then had konjac noodles with broccoli, mushrooms, egg and soy sauce.
D: something easy without eggs!

S: a few decaff coffees with almond milk, one with cream. 2l of water so far today!

StuntNun · 27/11/2017 16:26

When I lost weight it did take months longer for the skin and other tissue to catch up with the weight loss. One thing that I thought helped was exercise.
