Morning all!

Here's the SoF once again

Hope that the scales are kind to you this morning.

So we enter the last three weeks. Still time to lose some significant weight. But only if you follow the rules!

It's a difficult time of the year, as Christmas goodies start to appear in the shops, and - I'm guessing - at work and at home as well!

You might find it easier to stay focused if you move back onto Bootcamp for the last two weeks, so you're really making sure that the carby stuff that you might have been indulging in - even if that has just been Bootcamp Light.

Just had my 5th and 6th eggs of the day Shock - 2 "pancakes" made with added cream cheese, some baking powder and some cinnamon, cooked in butter and then put dobs of butter over the first one, while the second one cooked. Put the 2nd one on top, which helped finish off melting the butter. It was rather nice! Smile

Tomorrow is Day 4 of my egg fast, but I'm going out Christmas shopping with my dad and he's buying me lunch at our favourite Italian. I'll probably have the mozzarella and fresh tomato salad minus the breadsticks - but iirc, on days 4 and 5, you're supposed to re-introduce some veg/non-eggs anyway.

Grimbles · 28/11/2017 20:56

Purple bread was ok though. A bit dense but I only made it to mop up the oil and sauce from the chilli so it served its purpose Grin

SoMuchToBits · 28/11/2017 20:59

I seem to have eaten mostly eggs today too! Only because I didn't have much else in. Went to a lunchtime concert at ds's school today (he was in it) with a friend. There was cake, but I ignored it and had a cup of tea.

Rshard · 28/11/2017 21:00

It was gail’s bread that was purple, can’t remember why - psyllium husk stuff?

BerylStreep · 28/11/2017 21:22

Slinks in at back.

I returned to LC almost 2 weeks ago. It's been really successful for me in the past, (BIWI your ongoing commitment is amazing) but last year I inexplicably gained 11 kilos in a very short time, and it has stubbornly stayed on, and in fact I managed to gain another 3 kilos since then.

I've lost 3 kilos in the last 10 days, and am checking everyday that I am staying in ketosis.

Currently 96.6kg. Hoping to get to 85kg eventually.

I've been reading The Secret Life Of Fat. It's fascinating.

I hope you all don't mind if I join you at this late stage. Smile

SayrraT · 28/11/2017 21:26

Not at all beryl I think I recognise you?

Yes, grimbles apparently some brands/types of psyllium husk turn baked goods purple!

BIWI · 28/11/2017 21:34

Welcome Beryl! Grin

To anyone struggling with stalls, I will post my graph for my weight while LC since January. As you can see, a few months in I had a long period of losing and gaining the same 4-5lbs. That was quite early on and I have gone on to lose much more. So have faith and keep on it, I am so glad I did. I am down 45lbs in total and have 15-20 to go. I could have lost it all quicker with VLCD but I wouldn't have stuck to it, I never do.

This is the longest I have ever maintained any WOE and I don't plan to give up when I get to where I want to be. I look forward to joining the BC maintenance thread.

Week 8 - Low Carb Bootcamp - Only 3 weeks to go ...
Scabbersley · 28/11/2017 21:41

thank you grah

I know this WOE will work, I just need to stay motivated. No real NSVs other than a few coats doing up! I do generally feel better though

Anyway I forced myself to eat a proper dinner tonight - a beefburger with cheese with lots of cabbage fried in olive oil and butter with a dollop of That Mayo on the side. Yum.

Scabbersley · 28/11/2017 21:42

thats very motivational, thanks ragz

GailLondon · 28/11/2017 21:49

Lol at the purple bread! Yes my first batch was really purple due to the psyllium husk, but I’ve recently bought 2 other brands which are safe,

Organic Blond Psyllium husk
Sevenhills psyllium husk powder

Avoid the Bulk Powders brand - very purple!

Hippadippadation · 29/11/2017 06:31

Just coming to let you know that ASDA now sell Oppo!!! They've got it for £3. If my freezer wasn't already stuffed full, I would have bought some yesterday! I'm dying to try the mint chocolate flavour!

Welcome Beryl you know what do to then, just dive right in. What's the book about?

To all those "stalling" - I've spent the last 20 days going up and down the same 2lbs, but this seems to be a pattern for me. Fluctuate in a 2-3lb range for a while & then have a whoosh and go down 2-3lbs. Rinse & repeat.

Food plan today:
L - greek salad
D - beanless chilli

Rshard · 29/11/2017 07:10

I’ve not tried that hippa - good?

That graph’s really inspirational ragz, I’m going to add one to my spread sheet.

ClearEyesFullHearts · 29/11/2017 07:32

ast year I inexplicably gained 11 kilos in a very short time

What do you mean by inexplicably?

Gammeldragz · 29/11/2017 07:49

The Oppo ice cream is very good. Still 7g carbs a serving though. I bought some in asda last week but I ate it far too quickly so I clearly can't be trusted with that in the house!
Hippa yes I seem to do that too. As you can see by the graph. Up .4lb this morning have a rotten cold so blaming inflammation.

Yesterday food was
Slice of omelette.
Fry up - 2 bacon, 2 sausage, 2 eggs, 2 tinned tomatoes, black pudding and a toasted protein roll.
Lots of water as I had a really sore throat.

Yes this is me! I will try not to worry!

Today I am going to eat exactly what I ate yesterday, except substituting tuna for the rillettes and splitting a 170g of greek yogurt between lunch and dinner. I have celeriac so could add celeriac chips but Im still not sure if I like celeriac enough!

JumpingIntoLCHF · 29/11/2017 08:10

Interesting because I've lost a couple of pounds ocer the last 3 weeks but was the same for 3 weeks before that. 2lb I'm about 5 weeks is rubbish and yet om still eating so much less than I used to. Think i need to get stricter with myself again and walk more too. Could do without Christmas coming!

Thiswillbemyusername · 29/11/2017 08:47

Keep faith those who are stalling, it'll happen Smile

Meals yesterday:

B: 6 devilled eggs + FF milk coffee
L: tuna salad + creamy coffee
D: Chicken thighs w/ Brussels sprouts + broccoli w/ grilled Gouda on top

Since I have Gouda leftover I'm thinking about making celeriac daulphinoise again today. I really enjoyed that meal and it was easy to do

BerylStreep · 29/11/2017 09:06

Thanks for the welcome all.

cleareyes, exactly that. Inexplicable. No discernible reason. I was pretty much doing exactly the same thing.

Looking back, there may have been 2 things that contributed to the weight. I had a major neck issue and was taking painkillers, so it may have been the painkillers, or it may have been an increase in cortisol as a result of the pain.

Twinnings also stopped making butter mint tea, so I started drinking soy lattes. I've discovered that soy is a xenooestrogen and can lead to oestrogen dominance, otherwise known chunkiness

ilovecherries · 29/11/2017 09:22

Yesssss!!! 50 lbs gone!!! It's been flirting with me for about 10 days but today is third consecutive day either at or below it. I am SO happy. 16lbs to go to a 'healthy' BMI.

ilovecherries · 29/11/2017 09:34

And since I keep moving my final target, I think 25 lbs to till that.

BIWI · 29/11/2017 09:36

Brilliant, @ilovecherries! Really well done Flowers

Well done I love cherries!

Rshard · 29/11/2017 09:58

Awesome ilove, well done!!!

TimeIhadaNameChange · 29/11/2017 10:37

That's brilliant news, ilove - massive congratulations!

Yep, I also usually fluctuate around 2lbs for a while (up to a month or so) which I don't mind, though it's great when the old 'low' becomes the new 'high' as it were. Bizarrely, though, since Monday, I've been going steadily downhill by a fraction of a lb each day. I'm wondering if the carb overload at the weekend is to blame. I'm not complaining, at all, I simply find it interesting how my body responds.

I realised, after stating confidently how I add fats to my dinner and carbs to DP's yesterday that, actually, I've stopped adding the fat, so am now wondering if I'm getting enough. I generally have olive oil on my lunchtime salad, followed by ff yoghurt with cream, but that's generally it. Have decided I fancy pate with my lunch today, plus have some cheese and salami (I know there's too much processed food, but it needs eating up and there's only a little left). And the ubiquitous salad! Dinner for me will be steak with brussels and cream - I may throw some butter in there as well for extra yumminess!
