Morning all Flowers

Here's the spreadsheet of fabulousness for you all

Many thanks to wombattoo and SayrraT for keeping the threads going while I was away.

Lots of people talking about how to deal with future events, especially Christmas, and this is something that's really important to think about. This is a tough time of year for low carbing. But it's also a tough time of year if you can't squeeze into your partywear - so you need to decide which is more important. Those roast potatoes or looking good Wink

Good luck everyone

Ave, I price everything BIN, and I'm really sensible with pricing. I also don't sell anything at under 12.50, because I want to clear £10 per item to make it worth the hassle. But what I do sometimes do is bundle a few similar things together, usually tops, so that 12.50 is still realistic. I send everything signed for at a flat rate of 3.90. Take decent photos, and I used to write a long description but for some reason ebay keeps stripping the description out. I was mad because I was convinced that would effect sales, but in fact sold about 50 items in two days. I don't have masses of price points either - usually 12.50; 20.00 and 30.00. I usually do a quick search to see what other similar items went for in the last week. I've found it's not usually worth selling supermarket/primark stuff, but that's because I'm not going to do low prices, M and S, Boden, Monsoon, any retailer that has a JL concession tend to move ok.

TimbuktuTimbuktu · 17/11/2017 14:30

Well done cherries that’s great!

@starsky22 I do exactly the same thing. I have been trying to force myself to post every day, even if it’s really inane, just to keep myself on track!

YoLoNovVitMe · 17/11/2017 14:32

ilove wow £800! please come round to mine and do all my fat clothes too

time the plus side models are all in spanx. That is my theory anyway.

prettybird we have similar shapes you and me.

I think I've got my portion sizes sorted. I dish up half of what I think is a smallish portion. If I'm still hungry after then I can help myself to what is leftover. So far I haven't needed or wanted to as I'm full. As a fully paid up member of the Clean Plate Club this is working well for me so far.

Almahart · 17/11/2017 14:36

Down a pound today at last!

I've been ebaying too and experimenting with Buy it Nows. Sold two things straightaway but I do misss the fun of the auction!

SoMuchToBits · 17/11/2017 14:36

Talking about portions, YoLo, I made too much chicken and avocado salad for lunch. I recognised this though, and left some, putting it in a plastic box in the fridge for another time.

Before BC, I probably would have just finished it anyway. I think I'm more conscious of when I have had enough food these days.

Rshard · 17/11/2017 14:43

You look great prettybird

GailLondon · 17/11/2017 15:11

Great work Prettybird! 7 inches of belt reduction already is brilliant!

wombattoo · 17/11/2017 15:36

Hello all
Prettybird amazing pics.

ilove I think you have been an inspiration to us all on this and the last bc. Congratulations on the run. Star

chocdog I loved your post. For some reason I laughed at your description of 'crumply old tat' and 'sequin embarrassment'. The shopping experience sounds great Grin

pimmsy · 17/11/2017 16:15

amazing Prettybird !

Well done !

Toooldtobearsed · 17/11/2017 16:16

Can I join please?
I started rethinking my eating 3 weeks ago and have instinctively gone for low carb. I lost 8lbs on the first week, then have slowed down over the past fortnivht and weight loss at the moment is exactly 1 stone 😊

Its amazing the difference it has made to my attitude more than anything else - i am putting makeup on every day, bought an ab machine and doing 200 situps a day and over the moon with my changing appearance 😊
However, there is so much i did not know - drinking water for example, so lots for me to learn! I am down to 9st 11lbs now and would like to be around the 9st 3lbs eventually, so looking for support and new ideas.

I only eat once a day, today it will be salmon and a huge salad. Pudding is a vodka and tonic and i have a mini chocolate treat every evening (out of the bags of mini fudges, milky bars, mars bars type of thing).

Before I started, i was having 3 slices of toast for breakfast, a sarnie with crisps and biscuits for lunch and a cooked meal, high in carbs every evening, followed by a full size bar of chocolate and accompanied by a couple of glasses of wine....... so even if i dont lose weight, i must be healthier!

I walk dogs for 1.5 hrs per day too.

Fingers crossed when i weigh myself on Tuesday, another pound or so has gone!

wombattoo · 17/11/2017 16:22

Hello Tooold and welcome.
A stone is a great loss. I'm not sure about the vodka and tonic as a pudding Grin but you will find lots of advice and support on these threads.

ClearEyesFullHearts · 17/11/2017 17:42

tooold welcome and congratulations on your weight loss! Yes drink the water but also read this thread daily to see where to go next after hitting your target. I'm getting the impression you're doing this as a quick weight loss rather than way of eating, which is fine if that works for you, but maintenance is incredibly important. Sorry, really don't mean to rain on your parade!! But I wouldn't want to spend the rest of my life eating one meal a day.

ilovecherries I really can't praise you enough. Not only a weight loss role model, but an eBay one as well?! Wink

What's the other thing people recommendGumtree? Has anyone uses that? I'm having a perpetual-- clearout and getting ready to ditch some items but would like some cash back for a change. Hate to say this but am tired of donating to causes I support and seeing items go for pennies. Would rather sell for a real value then donate to cause with cash (and cut their overhead).

prettybird you have a lovely figure. I would kill for the flatness that is your stomach/abdomen.

Toooldtobearsed · 17/11/2017 18:28

Clear tbh, it suits me, not trying to lose quickly, just going back to how i used to eat. I am in my mid fifties and until i was 46 I was 8.5stone. Then I had cancer and all the related shit. I think I started comfort eating and never stopped 😊

Pre weight gain, i only ever ate dinner, so gone back to that. Don't get me wrong, i certainly dont pass up a pub meal, or deny myself what I fancy (had a Kentucky last week, just cos I fancied it), but I genuinely dont feel hungry until teatime and I think it was just boredom that started me eating all day.

I have so much more energy and dont fall asleep at 8pm everynight!

Veryflummoxed · 17/11/2017 19:34

Hi all. Just caught up with the thread. Some great stuff going on here, such positivity.

Snack. Some Brussels sprouts

Doing well with my water.

Rshard · 17/11/2017 19:46

Logging my scoffing
B - buttery eggs, half an avo
L - lettuce rocket cucumber radish feta mayo 5 cherry tomatoes
D - hm chicken curry with spiralled courgette

ClearEyesFullHearts · 17/11/2017 20:45

tooold that's great for you. Was just checking. Wink

YoLoNovVitMe · 17/11/2017 20:46

Welcome tooold wow one meal a day? Aren't you hungry?

If you go to page 1 there is a link to the spreadsheet of fabulousness. You can record your weekly weight on it if you like but you don't have to. On one of the tabs on the spreadsheet is the boot camp rules. I highly recommend you read them. If you choose to follow them then you will be a proper bootcamper and will definitely lose weight. A lot of what your new eating habits are not boot camp! Anyway, see what you think.

Lenl · 17/11/2017 21:05

Several weeks ago MIL gave us a tub of delicious pistachio ice cream made by a local company. It's so very tasty. I have been studiously ignoring it and am quite proud of myself actually. However. Today I so fancied some. Then I checked the label - 100g is 22g of carbs! Not all that dissimilar to dark chocolate, less than some even. I ate loads of veg, had a very low carb day today and I ran two miles. So I just sat and enjoyed a 50g bowl. Yum!

Now I'm worrying it was carbs per ml, not grams, but can't be bothered to go down to check. I'm pretty sure it was grams. And it was so little I doubt it would be much more/less either way.

Trouble is there's A LOT left and now it feels allowed I bet I'll keep dipping in. So might chuck it anyway.

Hope everyone is having a lovely evening!

BIWI · 17/11/2017 21:07

@Toooldtobearsed

This might be working for you right now - but you're only 3 weeks in, so you're benefiting from the early 'whoosh' that comes from low carbing.

However. You are not following Bootcamp with this way of eating. You're very unlikely to be eating a properly low carb/high fat diet, and by eating only once a day, you're seriously restricting your nutritional intake.

Alcohol for pudding? Are you serious?!

And chocolate?

Please go and read the Bootcamp rules, and then come back and join us if you feel you can manage this.

BIWI · 17/11/2017 21:08

And for the avoidance of any doubt - this way of eating is about ensuring that we eat properly balanced meals, and that we don't adopt dysfunctional eating habits

Of course you can lose weight by only eating once a day. Anyone would. But we're not about that.

The aim of Bootcamp is healthy weight loss, and a beneficial, long term way of eating.

Evening all!

Didn't manage a full 16hr fast today, went to the gym and felt hungry afterwards so ate after 14hrs. Tesco had their smoked salmon pinwheels out so I stocked up Grin

B. Fasting
L. Smoked salmon pinwheels, a couple of cocktail sausages
D. Fathead pizza, salad, coleslaw

Sharing a bottle of red tonight.

How bad would it be to have a pannacotta sweetened with truvia?

Grimbles · 17/11/2017 22:02

Not now i mean! I was looking at recipes for Christmas - pannacotta is one of my favourites and I was hoping a lowcarb version is feasible.

TempusEejit · 17/11/2017 22:08

Can't see why panna cotta wouldn't be ok as the only high carb ingredient is the sugar isn't it? Which you would obviously sub with sweetener. This recipe looks nice although I've not tried it myself: www.tasteaholics.com/recipes/low-carb-keto/salted-caramel-panna-cotta/

I'm going to make low carb trifle and low carb yule log for Christmas but I might add panna cotta to the list!

Grimbles · 17/11/2017 22:31

The recipe I had included milk, but if it can be made with just cream that's even better! Oh, creme brulee can be low carb too cry

Toooldtobearsed · 17/11/2017 22:33

I am sorry that I have offended. The vodka and tonic was a tongue in cheek remark, i do not seriously have that every day, it just so happens that I had one last night.
I do eat healthily, i was going to a long yoga session tonight, so deliberately ate light. However, I do only eat one meal a day, because I eat when I am hungry, not because it is 'time' to eat.
I thought we all found our own way to low carb, but obviously not and as I am breaking the rules, I will bow out.

Good luck to everyone with their healthier eating 😊
