Morning all Flowers

Here's the spreadsheet of fabulousness for you all

Many thanks to wombattoo and SayrraT for keeping the threads going while I was away.

Lots of people talking about how to deal with future events, especially Christmas, and this is something that's really important to think about. This is a tough time of year for low carbing. But it's also a tough time of year if you can't squeeze into your partywear - so you need to decide which is more important. Those roast potatoes or looking good Wink

Good luck everyone

I bought a new winter wardrobe, Mimosa. I was trying to make do, but frankly at 50 lbs less than last winter, nothing fit or was doing me any favours. I tried to buy styles/fabrics that would bridge a couple of sizes and see me right through till Spring. Then I'll buy some cheap summer clothes (always easier than cheap winter clothes somehow) and hope that by next autumn I am buying my final size. Just spent a mind numbingly boring week on eBay though, listing all my winter weight plus size clothing, and have made nearly 800 before fees, so I'm not feeling too guilty.

ilovecherries · 17/11/2017 08:01

Measurements. Since 22 May:
11 inches off my waist (and it's still not 'healthy'!)
5 inches off my underbust
6 inches off my overbust
6 inches off my hips
2 inches off each thigh
2 inches off my neck
1 complete shoe size

BLOODY HELL. I was a weeble before.

SoMuchToBits · 17/11/2017 08:05

Dame, I'd echo what others have said - this is a great thread for advice and inspiration.

starsky, I had heard of some people having problems with the sulphites in wine before. If sulphites are the culprit, then at least you'll know to avoid them.

YoLo, I'm doing quite a few "tray baked" recipes at the moment, as they are so quick and easy. Just chop up stuff, bung in a tray and half an hour later it's done!

Timbuktu, I'm making home made curries quite often too. I think the spice in them cuts through the fat, so they don't taste overly fatty.

Today's lunch will be chicken and avocado salad. This evening I'm going out with a friend. We're having something to eat in a café bar first (I should be able to choose something low carb from there) and then going to a concert (ds's school swing band - he's the drummer). There will be glasses of wine at the concert, so I may have one. It will be interesting to see how I feel about that after a few weeks not drinking alcohol!

SoMuchToBits · 17/11/2017 08:07

Wow, cherries, that's loads of inch loss! All those inches have been packed in the suitcase and sent away!

Mimosa1 · 17/11/2017 08:54

£800!!! Cherries go you! That must have been very satisfying. I'm trying to come up wth a pun about making pounds by losing lbs Grin and super impressive loss.

In other news, I felt unreasonably put out yesterday that my colleagues were snaffling "my" low carb bread and it was all gone. It's not mine at all of course, the lovely team PA does an Ocado order every week for everyone, so I've had to give myself a talking to. It must not be revolting though compared to the ordinary bread (which is still there, ahem). Virtuously, I wouldn't know as I haven't had regular bread for 3 - 3!!!- months. Still can't believe it.

Scabbersley · 17/11/2017 09:00

Morning all. This thread is really inspirational, well done everyone in their successes! I wish I'd measured myself. NSV today is pinching Dd1s padded jacket to walk the dogs and I can zip it up!

Saw an amazing new low for a second this morning at 12.1 but they settled at 12.2. Please let it stick!! No wine tonight Sad in an effort not to put those pounds back on. Feeling pretty good. I haven't drunk enough water for the last few days only about 1.5l,bit still losing and feeling well.

TimeIhadaNameChange · 17/11/2017 09:24

cherries - that's amazing, both the inch loss and the ebay total - go you!

Well done for all the losses and NSVs. I didn't make the 26 lbs in 26 weeks but I'm 23.6 lbs lighter than I was 6 months ago so I'm definitely not complaining! And I know full well I would have made it if I'd stuck to the rules more rigidly than I did. The 3-man portion of tiramisù I had on Sunday certainly didn't help! (I was planning a tablespoon or two, but DP had other ideas, and I, stupidly, just kept munching!).

I'm aiming for as low down the healthy BMI range as I can get - probably 8 st 2ish, which is another 17lbs. I got down to that about 8 years ago by dieting, walking 50 miles a week and going to the gym every Saturday and I did look good at that size. I have a very small frame so it's not as preposterous as it maybe sounds. What I would really, really, really like to happen is to get a smooth stomach. Not flat per se, just without the roll. It didn't happen last time but I'll keep my fingers crossed.

(It pisses me off that I see pictures of plus size models who are obviously larger than me but have a smooth silhouette. It's quite probably airbrushing, but still, it really doesn't look attractive on my frame and, for once in my life, I'd like it gone.)

pimmsy · 17/11/2017 09:29

Hi all,

Checking in with today's food.

Last night I had cod with a hollandaise sauce and green beans, however, I also had 2 cocktails ( one with absinthe and burnt cherry tomato essence... was lovely)

Today
Breakfast - Coffee
Lunch - Fried mushrooms and courgettes and cabbage with goats cheese and chilli.
Supper - Will be out again - will try and stick to fizzy water

Grimbles · 17/11/2017 09:37

I'm very wary of setting myself a goal weight because I worry that once I get there I will do what I have always done and 'stop the diet'.

I was the same with giving up cigarettes in the past, I would go a few weeks and then think 1 won't hurt, but that always leads on to another and before you know it you are back on 20 a day!

Hopefully, by the time I get into a healthy weight range, this woe will be permanently ingrained instead of something I'm doing to lose weight - just like I am now a non-smoking instead of someone who is in the process of giving up IYSWIM?

Scabbersley · 17/11/2017 09:39

I am getting a bit didgy about getting below 12 stone. I keep thinking I can reward myself with wine and lidl high protein rolls! Self sabotage

Grimbles · 17/11/2017 09:42

That's exactly what I am worried about scabbersley Grin

prettybird · 17/11/2017 10:00

Ilovecherries - great inch loss Smile Makes me wish I'd taken mine 3 months earlier when I'd started Boot Camp.

The fact that you've lost so much even more from your waist than your hips will have improved your hip:waist ratio which can only be healthy. FlowersOnwards and inwards Grin

Scabbersley - it's still worth taking measurements to see that even now it can make a difference.

chocdog · 17/11/2017 10:03

All these losses and goal weights are very inspiring. Well done everyone! I did not start off with a goal weight in mind but now I think I will aim for 145 lbs. I bought new scales yesterday and the digital bastard has put my poundage up a little. Curses! Only a little so I don't really mind!

My idea now is to try to get to 145lbs by Easter and then recycle all my old clothes and buy new ones. My wardrobe is a load of crumply old tat so I am actually more excited about chucking out the old stuff than I am about buying the new. I'm going to start saving up now and then maybe use a personal shopper at a big store in April. Never done anything like that before but as I lost my fashion mojo years ago I think it could be a good plan. Might take teenage DD along and give her power of veto - in case the personal shopper tempts me towards sequinny embarrassments.

FurryTurnip · 17/11/2017 10:15

Morning all, just checking in, not been able to get online very much and realise how much it helps keep me on track.

Got away with Pizza Express last night, they were very happy to adapt the salad for me, though I forgot to ask for no dressing so that's not great but not the end of the world. Two friends I was with are doing Slimming World. I kept quiet about LCHF as I knew how the discussion would go, but it's fascinating to hear their discussions. They both have a 'treat night' after weigh in when they basically binge, and all the talk of 'syns' made me feel quite sad, it was all about deprivation and guilt. Not meaning to knock it and if it works for them then that's great, but it made me realise how much more healthy this WOE is from a psychological point of view.

Anyway, rant over. Don't feel I've had enough fat lately so breakfast was fried eggs and mushrooms and will go for cheesy courgette and leeks for lunch.

Some great NSVs and losses out there- well done everyone and welcome Dame!

ilovecherries · 17/11/2017 10:59

I've just run non stop for 1.5 miles. THAT is truly the best NSV I've ever had. I'm having a little cry I'm so damn proud of myself. I am so going to run a 5K on Hogmanay. And that will be a very fitting end to a year that I started at 16stone 2.

starsky22 · 17/11/2017 11:11

Thanks for the link grah will have a read

ilove well done, great achievement!

starsky22 · 17/11/2017 11:13

furry I agree, this thread definitely helps me keep on track, if I haven't posted for a couple of days it's probably because I've eaten something I shouldn't have and don't want to fess up!

GailLondon · 17/11/2017 11:16

Wonderful job on the running!
Are you going to do a New Years parkrun? many of them put on a special new years day run, i'm going to try and do both of my local ones as one starts at 9am and one at 10am!

TimeIhadaNameChange · 17/11/2017 11:41

cherries - that's amazing! I'll be ecstatic if I (ever) manage to run as far as that without stopping! (And when I say 'run' I mean 'jog at a pace I could probably, just about, walk at!)

Rshard · 17/11/2017 12:04

I’ll be on the next boot camp too minose already looking forward to it actually!

ilove you go girl! That’s awesome. And inspiring inch loss too.

You’re so right scabbersley, furry and starsky, the thread is inspiring and it’s definitely keeping me on track.

singadream · 17/11/2017 13:12

I am on target for this to be the first week with no weight loss but plan to go back to strict boot camp for a week or two to get me back on for my christmas target.

AveAtqueVale · 17/11/2017 13:21

Cherries congratulations on the inch loss and the running! I’m trying to psyche myself up to restart C25K at the moment so you’re an inspiration on that front!

Have you got any eBay tips? I’ve got ridiculous amounts of clothes, mine and DCs to eBay, and I never know how to price anything Confused.

ClearEyesFullHearts · 17/11/2017 13:25

I keep thinking I can reward myself with wine and lidl high protein rolls!

I have to admit I've never understood using food as a reward for weight loss. Why not something else?

I've been wearing an old choker recently because it now fits my neck without fat rolling out and, well, choking me. Looks damn sexy, too. And doesn't sabotage my goals.

Having said that, last night I scoffed crisps and two enchiladas. I really don't do this so god knows why I didn'tat the very leastscrape the enchilada filling out of the corn tortillas.

Fairly annoyed with myself.

starsky22 · 17/11/2017 13:40

It's interesting how ingrained this woe had become, was just in caffe nero looking for something for lunch to take on the eurostar, nothing low carb, I was thinking about having a bacon, brie and cranberry panini (a fav pre-bootcamp) afterall im at target and I'm on holiday, why not! But i just couldnt do it, decided it wasn't worth it, so just got a coffee. I had bacon and eggs for breakfast and know I can survive for a few hours without food and can pick up something really good in Paris!

prettybird · 17/11/2017 13:48

I've got round to taking front and side shots so that I can remind myself of progress. I'll maybe only do this once every two to three months. 2 stone to go to my initial target Smile

As an NSV, I've also attached a picture of the belt that is now too big for me (in that there is now too long of a tail). The tape measure shows that I'm now doing it up 7 inches from where I used to have to put the buckle ShockSmile (no holes per se, and cheap "leather" meant it disintegrates over time as you buckle it)
