Morning all Flowers

Here's the spreadsheet of fabulousness for you all

Many thanks to wombattoo and SayrraT for keeping the threads going while I was away.

Lots of people talking about how to deal with future events, especially Christmas, and this is something that's really important to think about. This is a tough time of year for low carbing. But it's also a tough time of year if you can't squeeze into your partywear - so you need to decide which is more important. Those roast potatoes or looking good Wink

Good luck everyone

@Cherrypi it's slightly more acidic than still water, but it's x100 times less acidic than flavoured sparkling water or cola

Rshard · 19/11/2017 08:21

Your dream sayyraGrin

prettybird · 19/11/2017 08:25

Cherrypi - can you put some slices of cucumber/strawberries/oranges/lemons or a few raspberries or mint leaves (or all of them à la Pimms Grin) into your fizzy water to make it more exotic.

Giving myself a pat on the back: went to a Strictly Cocktail Party last night and only had one small cocktail (in a fine bone china teacup on a saucer Smile), having chosen the one that sounded the least carby - a French Martini (although it was still very sweet). I nursed it all night and refused top ups and had a glass if water alongside. Couldn't eat very much as most of it was carby, so had a couple of chickeny/cheesy bites (although I think they were coated in some sort of breadcrumb) and a few sticky cocktail sausages (although they were coated in honey) - and a Boot Camp compatible Grin strawberry dipped in dark chocolate.

I hadn't eaten breakfast and then had been delayed watching ds play rugby and further delayed getting home by a cancelled train (dh and ds had gone off to Murrayfield), so had only had a 15 minute turnaround at home (having already run most of the way up from the subway) to get glammed up. Ended up just chucking all my make up into my handbag, a bottle of bubbly into a bag, along with a slab of tablet (which I'd made last night), together with some presentation bags, so that I could break it into its squares to give to the hostess (and to a Uni friend who I hadn't seen for 30++ years who was also there) and then ran most of the way to the train station (12 running minutes away) train was then 5 minutes late HmmRealised when I got to Glasgow Central and was waiting for my connection that I hadn't eaten since the night before (when I'd had a "treat" of a bowl of brussel sprouts Grin) and not had much water, so bought myself a bottle of water, a wee tub of chargrilled chicken and a wee bag of almonds from Boots.

Had 3 slices of salami when I got in at midnight! (And another 4 glasses of water).

Nowhere near enough veg yesterday, but given the constraints of the day, I feel pretty virtuous! Grin glossing over the single, small piece of tablet I had to check the texture while I was packaging it up Wink

Will need to have plenty of water today, but I'm hoping I'll still be able to show a loss tomorrow. (STS first thing this morning without a BM Blush)

Veryflummoxed · 19/11/2017 08:48

@SayrraT laugh at you and @wombattoo arguing about it. And did any one else think Spinach Farm was a celebrity?

SoMuchToBits · 19/11/2017 09:32

I'm drinking a lot of sparkling water. A slice of lime in it is really nice. I'm not noticing any side effects, but I'm not gulping it all down at once, but keep going back for sips. Also, if I want a hot drink, but not tea, I either have a hot water with a tiny squeeze of lemon, or a hot water with a quarter teaspoon of marmite. Both good ways of getting more water.

BIWI · 19/11/2017 10:59

Grin @SayrraT

I feel that I need to start managing people's expectations ...

I won't be doing a Bootcamp in January, as I'm on sabbatical, and will be on the other side of the world, not thinking about food/carbs/diet, and so don't want to commit myself to it.

Sorry

Oh that sounds wonderful@BIWI we do demand an awful lot of you.

HolgerDanske · 19/11/2017 11:51

SorryNotSorry, you mean, BIWI? Grin

Sounds great!

Also I think it’s fine to go without a bootcamp in January - this is a way of life and can be done just as well without an official bootcamp. I’m sure we’ll keep up a thread for that purpose.

BIWI · 19/11/2017 12:06

If anyone else wants to start it, that's perfectly fine!

If SayrraT is prepared to do the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness, then I'd be happy to start a Boot Camp in January. I'm determined to get to my goal by 16 May, so need all the motivating support possible!

I'm sure people will share with me the wielding of the Big Stick Grin

ssshhhhh, don't tell dh, he's not keen on me taking on more commitments Wink

Kleptronic · 19/11/2017 14:56

Oh please do SayrraT and prettybird. I'm still 10lb off target and have stalled mightily.

It's my birthday over xmas and I'm going away to a Christmas cottage so will definitely be eating off piste. I will really need a January Bootcamp!

Almahart · 19/11/2017 15:19

I would love a January boot camp and happy to help however I can

I'm thinking of keeping going over Christmas - I'll be fine if I can make some vaguely bootcamp mince pies

I've realised that although I am now bobbing above my unambiguous target weight o would really like to lose another half stone or so which would make me a slim 12 rather than a slim 14. Feels scary writing that down!

wombattoo · 19/11/2017 15:19

BIWI you're giving yourself a January off? Shock Grin

Sayrra I refuse to believe that I was arguing with you! Particularly as I don't even know who Will Mellor is Grin

ilovecherries · 19/11/2017 15:25

I'd be happy to help out as well (so long as I don't have to create the spreadsheet!). This has changed my life, I'd like to give back a bit (and it might stop me evangelising on street corners, which is becoming a real risk :D)

Rshard · 19/11/2017 15:55

Another one who’d be happy to help with a January boot camp

princessbear80 · 19/11/2017 17:28

Dropping in for some quick advice please. Life has been really hard the last two weeks, including my OH being seriously ill in hospital. However I’ve managed to stick to the woe. Today I’ve been being sick, for what reason I don’t know. Also TOTM so feeling really crappy. What do you eat when/if you feel like this? All I want is toast Sad. Don’t want to sabotage this diet, but haven’t eaten for 24hrs. Thanks

TimbuktuTimbuktu · 19/11/2017 17:41

Oh no @princessbear80. Sorry to hear you have had a crap time. It can be hard when you just don’t fancy anything or want something plain.

Is there any chance you can get protein bread or make some cloud bread?

If not I might just have a small slice of toast to be honest. If it’s all you have eaten and you are being sick it is good to get some nutrition into you. A slice of toast is 13g carbs so if you haven’t had anything else you will still be in ketosis.

This may not be the advice BIWI would give though.

BIWI · 19/11/2017 17:45

I'm sorry to hear that, @princessbear80, and I hope your OP is recovered/recovering. Well done for sticking to things.

I'm not surprised you're feeling sick though - it's probably a reaction to all that stress and adrenaline unless you're pregnant

Actually, on this occasion, I'd agree with @TimbuktuTimbuktu. It's more important to make sure you're eating something. It's also worth remembering that Charles Clarke's diet (The High Protein Diet), which is a low carb plan, allows a slice of wholemeal bread a day - so I'm sure you'll be fine.

Make sure you keep drinking, though, so you aren't dehydrated.

Phew! Glad I escaped the big stick!

StuntNun · 19/11/2017 17:54

I'm also more than happy to help out with a January Bootcamp if needed.

princessbear80 · 19/11/2017 17:54

Thanks both. Have just had half a cup of creamy decaf coffee. If that stays down I might have a slice of toast. Definitely not pregnant! Will try to drink more water too. Thanks again.

ClearEyesFullHearts · 19/11/2017 18:13

princess I'd go with a comforting cup of broth, possibly toast afterward. Lots of water. And sleep.

Very sorry to hear about your stresses and hope everything turns out fine. Flowers
