Morning all Smile

Well done for reaching week 5, hopefully by now low carb eating should be pretty natural to everyone.

Just watch out for complacency, don't think "oh a wee bit won't hurt" it might!

If you need food inspiration (some people might find they are eating the same things and getting bored) check out the recipe thread or one if the many low carb/keto websites for ideas.

Good luck everyone Smile

For the first time in 6 weeks I’ve got a major carb craving. I want toast and fruit cake. And more fruit cake. Then I’d like to go back to toast. Sad

Drinking wine. I know it’s not great. But I need to take the edge off.

BrassicaBabe · 07/11/2017 19:40

I’ve only got 3lbs to go.

Tomorrow I’m going to take the cellophane off the Ripped in 30 dvd.

Promises. Promises.

Veryflummoxed · 07/11/2017 19:47

It was a lot of sprouts@Scabbersley but usually I would have had more than that. I don’t often have breakfast, but if I’m hungry I do.

prettybird · 07/11/2017 20:24

Brassicababe - Level 1 of Ripped isn't too bad Smile .....Level 2, however Hmm One of the aerobics circuits has both sets in plank: fast plank jacks, followed by mountain climbers (and repeat) Shock And the 2nd strength circuit has an exercise I physically can't do because of my sort arms: you're supposed to sit straight backed, with your legs out straight in front of you and then lift up into your arms so your bum is just off the floor (my arms are too short to do that). Then you bend your knees and lift your bum into a sort of reverse chair and then alternate between the bum-just-above-the-floor-position and the backwards chair position. I can do the chair by leaning way back - but boy does it work the triceps Shock

It's been over a year since I've got to Levels 3 and 4 - but iirc, it only gets worse Shock There are burpees Shock

BrassicaBabe · 07/11/2017 20:38

That’s terrifying PrettyBird. I might dust off Shred instead.

BlackMozart · 07/11/2017 20:49

Brassica you are so close, well done. KOKO

DrDiva · 07/11/2017 20:49

Hello, very late to the party this week. Haven’t weighed yet, I keep forgetting in the mornings! (nothing Freudian about that, I’m sure...)

Life is manic. Wave at everyone, hope everyone is ok, and I’ll be back when I can draw breath!

prettybird · 07/11/2017 20:49

I tend to start off with The Shred and then progress to Ripped hence why I've not often done levels 3 or 4 of Ripped Blush

I do like Level 1 of Ripped though Smile - but maybe that's because it feels "easy" as I've come to it off the back of Level 3 of Shred Grin

SoMuchToBits · 07/11/2017 22:01

Haha, prettybird, I'm another one with short arms! If I sit on the floor, legs straight out in front of me, and put my palms flat, my hands don't even reach the floor, let alone be able to lever my bum off the floor with them! Shock Grin

AveAtqueVale · 07/11/2017 22:20

All this talk of JM videos reminds me I’ve never finished Shred. Got to level 2 a couple of times but tend to lose interest and motivation. Is it too late to set a Lowvember goal to do some shredding?

BrassicaBabe · 07/11/2017 22:31

Want to start Shred L1D1 tomorrow Ave?

ferntwist · 07/11/2017 23:10

Hello everyone and BIWI. Quick question, is it okay to carry on the boot camp if pregnant?

prettybird · 07/11/2017 23:21

Somuch - ditto. When my Pilates instructor does the 100 using a pole between the hands, I have to sort of balance it at the end of my fingertips as otherwise my bum would be in the way of the beating Blush
NB picture is for illustrative purposes only Wink

Ave - not too late to start Smile

BTW: Level 3 of the Shred has an exercise which is forearm plank to straight arm plank (can't remember what she calls it) and back down again. When I first tried it, I couldn't move from fore arm to straight arm however hard I tried until I went on to the bent knee version. But now I can do it with straight legs Smile

I actually find Level 2 of the Shred more difficult than Level 3 overall. Confused

Week 5 - halfway there!
TimbuktuTimbuktu · 07/11/2017 23:46

Oh don’t say that prettybird. I’ve just done day 10 L1!

Rest day tomorrow thank god. I am a bit scared of l2.

B- babybel
L- Thai chicken curry cauliflower rice
D-celery with cream cheese, pistachios

Bad snack- chocolate cherry liquor

However NSV (and actually victory!) We won the pub quiz tonight and I stuck to drinking fresh lime and soda despite the others guzzling down the £50 bar tab.

Grah0SoontobeaFitty · 08/11/2017 00:51

@ferntwist you need to talk to @CremeDeSudo she is doing exactly that week 5 on both..

GoBigOrange · 08/11/2017 04:23

Sorry I missed last week. Life took over. But even though I wasn't on the thread, I was still on the wagon and as yet have not cheated at all. Though I think my portion sizes are possibly sometimes a bit too generous.

I was braced to stay the same this Monday as I thought a stall must surely be coming for me as I have been fortunate at every weigh in so far and have seen losses of 4lb, 2lb and 2lb in the first three weeks. But the scales said 4lb off on Monday! I couldn't believe it and weighed myself about ten times before I accepted it and added it to the spreadsheet!

On thread one I said I was aiming to lose a stone by Christmas, so it looks like I'm going to smash that easily now. Ambitiously hoping for 2 stone off by Christmas now.

Consumed today:

Two coffees with unsweetened almond milk
2 scrambled eggs
Can of sardines, cucumber and spinach salad with 1 tbsp mayonnaise.
Chicken breast, swede puree, courgette cooked in butter.
A dozen green olives
4 Brazil nuts
3 liters of water

As for the question of what to dip in baked Camembert, is it too obvious to suggest your entire face? Or given that this bootcamp is all about it - celeriac chips?

Congratulations all losers, KOKO everyone.

HarlotsWeb · 08/11/2017 05:41

Morning.
B creamy coffee and a cold sausage at 4am.

Now out and about in the freezing cold, feeling glad I am well fortified.

Hippadippadation · 08/11/2017 06:24

Orange your entire face Grin comment of the thread so far for me!! Brilliant! Well done on the losses as well.

prettybird yes, I totally think that about level 2 of the shred as well, it's like bloody torture. Level 3 seems like a break in comparison, haha.

Harlot what are you doing to be out so early? I don't envy you!

Plan for today:
L - egg, avocado and spinach omelette
D - seabass with a a side of leeks, shallots and courgetti, all fried together in butter and garlic.

Scabbersley · 08/11/2017 06:58

Well done bigorange!

Are coffees with almond milk more or less carby than coffees with cream? Does anyone drink bulletproof coffee?

Woke up with a bastard headache. I am now thinking they've got nothing to do with the food or minerals but are because of my dodgy neck. I had this about 20 years ago and had to have a lot of acupuncture and physio to sort it. I have a weird shaped top of spine or something. Might treat myself to either physio or acupuncture!

StuntNun · 08/11/2017 07:03

Timbuktu you don't have to go on to level 2 of the 30-Day Shred. I prefer to stay on level 1 and try to do the harder versions of the exercises and/or increase the hand weights I'm using. I also do the cardio exercises while holding my weights for extra intensity.

Ferntwist we suggest Bootcamp Light during pregnancy and it's a good idea to take a multivitamin. If you have to do an oral glucose tolerance test for gestational diabetes then you will need to eat more carbs for three days before it.

Rshard · 08/11/2017 07:09

Wow! orange!
Unsweetened almond milk has nil carbs per 100ml scabbersley, I haven’t got any cream to compare though. Starbucks do almond milk albeit for a 40p supplement, does make a nice cappuccino though.

I tried the Keto waffles this morning, although I actually made pancakes. They were good and def filling as I think a pp said. I’ve 3 left for tomorrow. I’m getting a bit bored of scrambled eggs.

B - as above
L - left over celeriac cottage pie

Hope everyone has a good day!

YoLoNovVitMe · 08/11/2017 07:25

Well done bigorange . It will probably slow down though so dont get too ambitious!! This woe is a long game not a crash diet.

All this talk of shredding and ripping....i must get to the gym. Stuck to my Low-vember goals so far.

Happy Wednesday everyone!

Thiswillbemyusername · 08/11/2017 07:28

New low spotted on the scales this morning! Does a happy dance

@GoBigOrange still sniggering at 'your entire face' Grin it is the right answer

Scabbersley · 08/11/2017 08:04

Starbucks do almond milk albeit for a 40p supplement, does make a nice cappuccino though.

hold on
would that be a carb free cappucino

Cherrypi · 08/11/2017 08:23

Still weighing exactly the same. Don’t think I’ve stuck rigidly to the same weight for so long ever. Grrr.
