Morning all Smile

Well done for reaching week 5, hopefully by now low carb eating should be pretty natural to everyone.

Just watch out for complacency, don't think "oh a wee bit won't hurt" it might!

If you need food inspiration (some people might find they are eating the same things and getting bored) check out the recipe thread or one if the many low carb/keto websites for ideas.

Good luck everyone Smile

Scabbers I'd say that's not enough food if anything (unless you use lots of cream in your coffees and tons of butter with your eggs and veg). Possibly not enough protein either. I know we're doing LCHF rather than full keto but it might be worth running your stats through a macros calculator just to give you a rough idea of what your daily protein and fat intake should be www.ruled.me/keto-calculator/

Thiswillbemyusername · 06/11/2017 18:04

I should start noting my meals down as I have to be stricter to get back to losing weight

Today

B- coffee w/ FF milk
L- scrambled eggs w/ butter, parmesan and avocado
D - will be Chicken ceasar salad, if I decide to eat it.

I have been fighting dark chocolate cravings all day. I had a bit each night, thinking it can't be too harmful as each bar has 3-4 carbs in it, according to the label. I am determined not to have anymore until I get back to the lowest weight I've reached on this BC

Scabbersley · 06/11/2017 18:10

Thanks. I'm a bit nervous of feeling full. Can't believe I can feel full and lose weight.

Almahart · 06/11/2017 18:11

I bought the low carb bread from Waitrose livelife. 3.8 g per teeny slice. Feels like a bit of a slippery slope as it's 14g per 100. Had a slice toasted just now with butter, cold chicken, mayo and spring onion. Was yummy but am a bit nervous about self control around it. I put it in the freezer

ilovecherries · 06/11/2017 18:18

Ragz, people keep asking me if I'm looking forward to it 'being over' but actually I'm really scared of it. At the moment, I'm sticking with my old 'the only decision I'm making is to follow the rules' mantra. The thought of having to manage my weight within a window is quite frightening.

Scabbers, if you were hungry, it's not a lot, but there seems to be a bit of 'picking' going on, so could there be an emotional component? Was your lunch all on a plate together and eaten with cutlery, or did you go back and forward to the sprouts? Then no veg with your dinner, and eaten (I assume) standing up?

ilovecherries · 06/11/2017 18:20

And one chicken leg wouldn't see me through! I'd need a lot of v g and fat with it!

HarlotsWeb · 06/11/2017 18:23

B two sausage patties and a cappuccino
L Pork scratchings and olives
D chicken jalfrezi (no rice - just the meat and spicy tomatoey sauce)

Not enough water.

HarlotsWeb · 06/11/2017 18:24

Looking at that, it is incredibly low on veg Blush

ClearEyesFullHearts · 06/11/2017 18:25

I put it in the freezer

Good.

ClearEyesFullHearts · 06/11/2017 18:27

Had a slice toasted just now with butter, cold chicken, mayo and spring onion. Was yummy

Alma would it have been significantly less yummy without the toast?

TimbuktuTimbuktu · 06/11/2017 18:55

@ASDismynormality I love the 100% buttons! And this year HC are doing a 100% advent calendar which I am definitely going to treat myself too.

Scabbersley · 06/11/2017 19:08

Lunch was definitely eaten sitting down!
Chicken thigh was picked at while cooking.

Ended up cooking a burger for dh and had one myself, with cheese rocket and mayo. No bun!

Lizard202 · 06/11/2017 19:11

The dreaded week 4-5 increase....luckily it was just 0.8 up. I'll just KOKO

Almahart · 06/11/2017 19:15

It's a texture thing clear eyes but I was pleased to find that I didn't enjoy it any more than say celeriac mash or an onion bhaji

Had I done it earlier in BC it would have been far more dangerous!

Good question to ask though

Rshard · 06/11/2017 19:19

B - cheesy buttery eggs
L - lettuce rocket cucumber tuna mayo 6 cherry tomatoes
D - chicken wrapped in Parma ham, stuffed with Boursin with lettuce rocket cucumber mayo

2 l water and about to have another 500ml

ilovecherries · 06/11/2017 19:28

Fridge clearing dinner in advance of tomorrow's shop. So shallots, mushrooms, celery, pepper, squeaky beans, spinach, broccoli and the pickings off the chicken carcass. Everything sautéed in oil, lemon, chilli, ginger, garlic and tamari sauce. Was very nice.

Lunch was leftover spicy mince and cabbage

Breakfast was fasting, as usual.

Hippadippadation · 06/11/2017 19:33

This why would you not eat the chicken salad? Nothing wrong with it. This isn't a WOE where you need to starve yourself?

ClearEyesFullHearts · 06/11/2017 19:51

It's a texture thing clear eyes but I was pleased to find that I didn't enjoy it any more than...etc

Almahart that's interesting that it wasn't necessarily better than other options that are lower in carbs. And I absolutely agree texture is important when enjoying food.

I'm planning to make the Fathead nachos when I get a chance. The crunchier the better!

ClearEyesFullHearts · 06/11/2017 19:55

Hippa I'm guessing This thought she might not be hungry enough.

I have to say, between the water and the fat, I sometimes feel so satiated that I have to remember to eat. That's not a bad thing at all. I'm not one to deprive myself and haven't had any eating disorder issues in the last (anorexia, bulimia).

Just not hungry. Confused

Almahart · 06/11/2017 19:55

Fathead nachos?!! Where are they? They sound amazing

ClearEyesFullHearts · 06/11/2017 19:55

In the past

ClearEyesFullHearts · 06/11/2017 20:05

Almahart the recipe for Fathead Nachos is here

Basically the same dough as Fathead pizza but with different spices in the mix.

Having heard great things about the pizza, I'm excited to try making nacho "chips" with this dough and putting lovely spiced meat or fish, some guacamole, some cheese & sour cream & possibly homemade salsa (totally recommend Nigella's simple Salsa recipe, which is heavy on cumin and amazing. I double the cumin.)

Long live Mexico! Grin

Thiswillbemyusername · 06/11/2017 20:19

@Hippadippadation as @ClearEyesFullHearts said I didn't think I'd be hungry enough (I'd been filling up on a lot of water) but I did have it in the end. Sorry didn't mean to worry anyone I'm not starving myself

ChinchillaFur · 06/11/2017 20:30

Well done to everyone who has lost, some quite a lot!

My scales were not kind +2 but I don't think it is right as I definitely look and feel thinner and I am wearing my good jeans! Think I am:
a) Due a whoosh
b) Due a BM or
c) Due on my period.

Hmmm possibly all 3. Will koko though.
We had chicken in parma ham with garlic butter, was delicious.

Mimosa1 · 06/11/2017 20:46

Hi everyone and thanks for the good wishes on my first day back. I struggled with the team lunch at a Japanese place today but did my best.

Tempus thanks for the info on fasting. I'm definitely interested but don't feel I have enough of an understanding of how to do it safely yet. Will do some more reading around it. I've been looking at some posts on egg fasts too, which I know is for long term LCHFers only. I think, despite today being a higher carb than I'd like, I'm going to go back to strict bootcamp for a week or two, and see if that makes a difference then consider fasting. The lovely thing about this woe is that I'm not hungry and I'm weirdly out off by fasting even though I know it would likely be v good for me in a short burst.

ClearEyes - i know exactly what you mean, I'm in a hurry
