Morning all Smile

Well done for reaching week 5, hopefully by now low carb eating should be pretty natural to everyone.

Just watch out for complacency, don't think "oh a wee bit won't hurt" it might!

If you need food inspiration (some people might find they are eating the same things and getting bored) check out the recipe thread or one if the many low carb/keto websites for ideas.

Good luck everyone Smile

Ok, I'll try fizzy water with some lemon!

SoMuchToBits · 09/11/2017 20:48

I'm enjoying fizzy water with a slice of lime! Very refreshing.

Gammeldragz · 09/11/2017 21:34

furry I'm tall too and have similar goal weight to you. Originally it was 11 stone, but I realised as I got under 12 that another stone won't be enough (unless I turn some of this fat into muscle!).
I'm kind of scared of getting as close to goal as you are, I'm worried that I'll just stop losing and give up!

TimeIhadanamechange I think it's metabolically better to eat after exercise. I used to go to the gym in the morning and not eat until lunch time. If I'm going swimming I don't eat beforehand either.

Hippa liked what you wrote about attitude to exercise. It definitely should be a pleasure ( Envy of certain people with horses to ride while I torture myself with sit ups on the living room floor).

Cherrypi well done, 1lb is great - that every week would be nearly 4 stone!

Toomuch butter was still £1.35 in Lidl yesterday.

BIWI welcome back.

Today's food
Breakfast - creamy coffee
Lunch - leftover meatballs in pesto and mozzarella, with lettuce, parmesan and mayo. Greek yogurt, cream and cinnamon.
Dinner - chicken curry. Creamy coffee.

Water - 1.5l so far, still slacking. About 1l of black coffee as well though.

HippadoppaloppaGammeldag · 09/11/2017 21:35

pimmsy sweet stuff = carbs = baaaaad. Maybe try infusing fizzy water with different things. Or sometimes I drink the flavoured slimline tonic water to feel like I've had a "treat."

For anyone asking about C4. She's home, fine as can be and still low carbing. She's back into healthy BMI range. I'm not sure she'll be back to the thread or indeed mumsnet in general. If anyone wants to keep in touch with her, pm me as I can pass on your details or ask her if it's OK to pass on her email address.

SoMuchToBits · 09/11/2017 21:44

ragz, thanks for the heads up about the cheaper butter in LIDL. Unfortunately my nearest LIDL is so far away, I'd probably have to spend £1 on a bus fare to get there, which wouldn't be cost effective! Grin

Grimbles · 09/11/2017 21:45

Evening all Smile. Am giving 16:8 a go, first official attempt today wasn't so bad - I eat dinner late so didn't eat until 2pm today.

B. Fasting
S. Pork Scratchings
D. Doner meat, salad, garlic mayo

3l water 3 coffees and a small glass of red

Thiswillbemyusername · 09/11/2017 22:00

Dinner today was haddock with cheesey leeks. Got the cheese sauce recipe off here and it was amazing, thank you to whoever that was

YoLoNovVitMe · 09/11/2017 22:10

Great news about C4 , hippa .

YoLoNovVitMe · 09/11/2017 22:11

Welcome back BIWI . I'm not jealous, no not me.

Just caught up this evening. I definitely need to make a fathead pizza thank you scabbersley. Am also going to try fizzy water with lime when I’m at the pub next Tuesday rather than wine.
Food today
B hot water with lemon slice, omelette with spring onion and cheddar cheese. Coffee
S slice of Edam cheese and a coffee
D chicken and chorizo with celeriac and butternut squash mashed with butter; piece of Brie with peppercorns, coffee
Ok on the water but not brilliant

Is butternut squash ok on this woe? First time I’ve cooked it this week and I’ve made one last 4 days in various different forms but my tastebuds must be changing because it was so sweet. A proper sweet fix! It hasn’t made me crave anything else sweet so I’m hoping that means it is ok but next time I will try and get a much smaller one 😊

starsky22 · 09/11/2017 22:52

Thanks for the update hippa I have been thinking about C4 a lot recently, I am glad to hear she is home and doing ok and still low carbing, I will miss her posts on here, she had such a great way with words and an amazing attitude.

Black Butternut squash is quite carby, just checked the spreadsheet and it is 7.5g per 100g and on the red list.

Mimosa1 · 09/11/2017 22:52

Popping in to say hi. Made some good choices today but still not as low carb as I'd like (out for meals plus guests). Still, didn't use it as an excuse to go totally off piste so must be doing something right.my weight has crept back up again (daily weighed here) so I'm trying not to get too disheartened. I know this woe works for me - need to stop the dark choc and drink the water.

I'm glad to hear the news of c4.

Welcome back Biwi!

starsky22 · 09/11/2017 22:54

Welcome back BIWI hope you had a great time, I know you've got a lot to catch up, so feel free to scan past the rest of my post without reading it!

Went to pub tonight and no time to eat beforehand, so my dinner consisted of 2 teaspoons of peanut butter and a glass of white wine! Confused

C4rollinandventing · 09/11/2017 22:57

Thank you Hippa for passing on messages and keeping bc updated on my progress and thank you for the well wishes while I was in the twilight zone everyone.

As I'm back you can rest assured I'm not a troll, MNHQ are satisfied that I really do exist and my life is exactly what I say it is along with all the medical and health issues.
My sense of humour on the other hand is unreal.

I confess to not having read however many threads I've missed.

Namaste Bitches, it's nice to be here.

pimmsy · 09/11/2017 23:04

Fizzy water and lemon isn't cutting it.... I don't know why I'm having such strong cravings this evening.

I had coffee for breakfast

Mushrooms in cream with garlic and chives (lots of) for lunch and roasted Brussel sprouts and green salad

Poached eggs (2) and spinach and cream cheese for supper

And quite a lot of herbal tea and water through the day.

It's midnight here and I'm feeling so sugar obssesed that I've seriously debated going down to the corner shop to pick up something probably very very carby and sugary to eat. (I won't, but only because I'm in Pjs and lazy)

starsky22 · 09/11/2017 23:27

C4 You're back!! Hurrah! Smile Lovely to hear from you. No chance of you being a troll, you seriously could not make up the events in your life!

YoLoNovVitMe · 10/11/2017 00:25

C4 well done for being back in the world of the living and back on BC with us!

What happened?

On a bum note, I'm sure everyone wants to know my news.... my arse is now very lumpy. I looked in the mirror with horror today. Where once there was succulent roundness fat there is now the worst saggy orange peel skin I've ever seen Shock . It is not a good look. I do loads of muscle exercises for my bum and thighs. Must do more. Sad

blackteaplease · 10/11/2017 05:30

I have a lumpy bum too Yolo. I'm ignoring it for now as I can't see it therefore it doesn't exist.

Nice to see C4 and BIWI back on the threads.
Yesterday's food
B: yogurt with frozen berries 2x coffee
L: beef keema with shredded iceberg
D: chicken breast roasted in tomato with mozzarella

I am now surviving most days without snacking which is amazing. I never thought I would get to this stage when I started Bootcamp and saw all the other meals. I was a big stacker.

blackteaplease · 10/11/2017 05:32

Er, clearly I was a big stacker. Not sure what a big stacker is.

Also I had 2 glasses of red wine last night when talking to DH about funeral arrangements for our friend.

Veryflummoxed · 10/11/2017 06:06

@blackteaplease  Flowers

@C4rollinandventing so pleased to hear you’re home and so much better, and glad to have you back. Smile

Hippadippadation · 10/11/2017 06:29

C4 hurrah!

blacktea I was also a constant nibbler. It's amazing what this WOE does.

Food for today:
L - cheese, meat, olives, salad
D - our friend is coming over so we're getting takeaway indian. I'm going for lamb saag I think (my favourite). Also going to pop to waitrose for some Oppo as a treat.

Rshard · 10/11/2017 06:29

A great to have you back C4.

Yesterday’s food
B - buttery eggs, avo
L - tuna lettuce rocket cucumber 6 cherry tomatoes mayo
D - dh’s Thai broth with chicken

SayrraT · 10/11/2017 06:51

ilovecherries · 10/11/2017 06:51

I had a massive whoosh yesterday - mainly down the toilet, I have to say :(, and for the moment at least I am 48 lbs down in total. I still have no idea what triggered this, but it could only have been some hidden flour or sugar in the Indian meal. Yesterday was spent housebound with cramps, wind, bloating, nausea, cravings and diarrhoea. To think I used to be like that 3-4 times a week, and Imodium used to be an essential food group for me. Anyway, there will be absolutely no off piste eating for me at Xmas, I'm not ruining it by feeling like this. On the plus side, I managed to ride the cravings out, drank plenty of water and bullion and had a PJ day. I'd have done some HIIT but frankly couldn't leave the house. Interestingly though, I didn't appear to come out of ketosis at all, as I dug out the strips I'd bought ages ago and never used, and peed on them all day. Anyway, feeling fragile but better today. Probably won't fast but will have small, salty meals and hope the worst is over.

SayrraT · 10/11/2017 07:00

Aww cherries hope you are feeling better today Flowers
