Morning all Smile

Well done for reaching week 5, hopefully by now low carb eating should be pretty natural to everyone.

Just watch out for complacency, don't think "oh a wee bit won't hurt" it might!

If you need food inspiration (some people might find they are eating the same things and getting bored) check out the recipe thread or one if the many low carb/keto websites for ideas.

Good luck everyone Smile

Scabbersley, a few weeks ago I made a thing with chicken breasts where you put some pesto on top, then some sliced mozzarella and sliced tomato and bake in the oven. It was lovely! I'll see if I can find the recipe.

pimmsy · 08/11/2017 13:24

I want spouts now

Wh0KnowsWhereTheTimeG0es · 08/11/2017 13:24

Brassica - I've seen you on the bullet journal thread, I'm about to start a new one, I'm thinking some food related habit trackers would be a good idea.

NSV to report. We had a lunchtime meeting at work just now, with a Dominos delivery for the catering. I resisted and ate a chicken and avocado salad. That is big for me as I LOVE pizza.

Struggling with water consumption though, it's not so much the drinking it but timing it so I don't need the loo at inconvenient times (I drive a lot, spend time at the allotment, generally out and about a lot). I think I need to "front load" in the mornings but I never feel very thirsty then.

SoMuchToBits · 08/11/2017 13:29

Lunch was an omelette with what I had left in the fridge feta, aubergine and spinach. It was surprisingly good, for a selection of random ingredients! Dinner will be salmon (the Fish Man has just been) and whatever looks nice in the greengrocers.

ponygirlcurtis · 08/11/2017 13:46

Thanks prettybird, I will be trying that later. And here are my muffins (as it were). They are doing the job.

Ooh, share your LC habit tracker when you get there please Wh0knows. We’re part of a LC/bujo sub group with Rshad Grin

ilovecherries · 08/11/2017 14:27

A bullet journal thread, you say? Off to find that!

Grah0SoontobeaFitty · 08/11/2017 14:30

@Scabbersley I love blended BPC and switch the coconut with cacao butter for a mocha flavour

When out get black coffee and 3 butters. Put lid on cup and sip. Not as nice but gets the cravings sorted. 1 place whisked on the milkshake machine. She was a lchfer too.

ilovecherries · 08/11/2017 14:32

CherryPi, I eat green veg at every meal, including breakfast on the occasions I eat it. Always with butter or olive oil (often the latter actually). I make that the core of my meal, and then add a protein. I do eat bacon at the weekends, ditto sausages and dairy in the amounts I eat it don't seem to be an issue for me, but the key change in my thinking is away from 'protein first' with veg on the side to veg and fat first, with protein on the side.

ilovecherries · 08/11/2017 14:37

Thanks for the link whoknows. Would never have found it, never ventured into housekeeping before! I've been keen to bullet journal though, but keep getting confused with it, so off to RTFT.

ilovecherries · 08/11/2017 14:38

In fact, we've started to refer to green vegetables as Fat Transportation Devices in our house...

StuntNun · 08/11/2017 14:40

WhoKnows a few of us in the LCHF 16:8 group noticed it was a lot easier to drink water when skipping breakfast. The sensations of hunger and thirst are quite similar.

Cherrypi · 08/11/2017 14:53

Do I have to have veg with my yogurt? Don’t fancy that Wink Maybe an avocado. I will try and cut down processed meat and dairy. Definitely need to drink more water. It’s just such a boring think to do. Thanks for the advice everyone.

Rshard · 08/11/2017 14:55

2 minutes, give them a shake and then another 2 minutes ponygirl

Is a Starbucks tall a small in real life very? Their sizing confuses me

Scabbersley · 08/11/2017 14:56

I think I am low in potassium. Do you take supplements?

StuntNun · 08/11/2017 15:01

Scabbers I use LoSalt and take a multivitamin and mineral supplement.

SoMuchToBits · 08/11/2017 15:02

CherryPi, if I'm having yoghurt, I quite often turn it into a tzatziki or a raitha, which incorporates some cucumber. In fact, I might have some tzatziki with my salmon tonight!

CremeDeSudo · 08/11/2017 15:05

@Scabbersley you could make what I paid 15 quid for at the Italian on Sat. Flattened out chicken breast, ham on top, melted mozzarella on top of that. Served with a generic tomato sauce and vegetables.

TimbuktuTimbuktu · 08/11/2017 15:06

Or an Epsom salt bath scabbers.

I try to make myself finish one 750ml bottle of water before I eat breakfast which helps me get ahead for the day.

AveAtqueVale · 08/11/2017 15:15

I bullet journal too! Though have currently mislaid the notebook I bought for 2018 so Haven’t got that organised yet. My current one is a bit of a scribble fest so one of my goals for 2018 is at least to have some nice spreads. Maybe food, exercise or weight trackers would be good ones to put some effort into as they’d last a while and filling them in would give extra incentive!

BrassicaBabe · 08/11/2017 15:21

I wasn’t organised Ave I was procrastinating. Which is surely a bullet journal oxymoron 😄

Lunch: 2 egg omelette with ham mushrooms and philly

Thiswillbemyusername · 08/11/2017 15:30

Thank you to whoever introduced bullet journals to this thread. I've never heard of it before but it looks right up my street! I'm going to go stationery shopping tomorrow

Veryflummoxed · 08/11/2017 15:55

I think it’s the medium @Rshard. But I do get confused myself.

BrassicaBabe · 08/11/2017 16:36

Help with your shopping list @Thiswillbemyusername Wink lots of colours
