Morning everyone Smile as BIWI is away I have the honour of starting the week 4 thread.

I going to give you all the usual reminder that in week 4 it is PERFECTLY NORMAL for weight loss to stall. So you may sts or even see a gain.

Do not panic! Just KOKO Smile

It doesn't come out like cottage cheese or ricotta (Ice tried it with both, and as you can't tell the difference, I use the cheaper cottage cheese): the beaten egg binds it to make it sauce like and it melds into the mozzarella.

Ds hates cottage cheese but loves this lasagne! Smile

DrDiva · 30/10/2017 11:35

Good morning.

I will join those on the 1lb on bench.

Starting again anyway. And really, really trying with the water. Sigh.

FurryTurnip · 30/10/2017 11:46

Thank you Gammeldragz. That makes perfect sense to me and works out right - it's always when I use online conversion calculators that it goes to pot, so will just stick with mental arithmetic and it seems to make more sense. No idea why I have got it so wrapped round my head. Maybe my brain is bunged up with double cream!

StuntNun · 30/10/2017 11:46

Gah, 1.5 lb ON this week. I'm blaming DH as yesterday when I got home he handed me a cocktail as soon as I walked through the door. Turns out it had three units of alcohol and sugar syrup in it. Shock

CarbyDeadUn looking at your meals I would guess too much dairy. It can be hyperinsulinogenic in some people which stops weight loss. The artificial sweeteners in the slimline tonic can bollox things up as well. Can you have black coffee instead of cream coffee and only have one or at most two portions of dairy per day? You should be okay on fat if you added oil and vinegar vinaigrette to your salad. What was your portion size like on the pork belly as it's calorific? I don't agree with Kleptronic (sorry Klep) on the flaxseed/almond/coconut flours as they are calorific and can cause more water retention.

Frigglet please don't be disappointed with "only" a pound off. You've lost 12 lb in three weeks so this way of eating is working for you. KOKO! If you lose a pound a week for the rest of the year then that will be a stone and a half off!

singadream · 30/10/2017 11:49

I am inordinately hungry today. I had my breakfast at 10am - yoghurt - and have just now eaten my chicken salad lunch. I am also literally daydreaming instead of working, thinking of a huge slice of soft white bread slathered in butter and strawberry jam.

Cherrypi · 30/10/2017 11:53

Stayed the same happy with that. Not been drinking my water and my smart price dark chocolate wasn’t very low carb. Sure will lose next week. Feel confident enough to wear my stretchy mini skirt today though.

LtheWife · 30/10/2017 12:01

A 3.6lb gain for me today. I'm ignoring it and KOKO as I know the cause (industrial strength codeine. I was 0.7lb down before I started taking them). I think I'll leave the spreadsheet blank for this week, take some senna, up my water consumption and re weigh once it's done it's thing!

Gammeldragz · 30/10/2017 12:11

Lthewife I have often wondered about painkillers and weight loss. When my gynae pain is bad I have to take codeine and I'm sure I don't lose when I have to take it for a few days. I tried googling it and nothing seemed to come up.

prettybird · 30/10/2017 12:18

Having done Ripped and had my ahem movement, I can report a 2lb loss, so down to 12stone 12lb (still tracking you Ilovecherries Wink). that's actually only 0.25lb down on what the scales showed first thing

5lb overall this Boot Camp. Smile I might, just might manage to break the 12 stone carrier in time for Christmas - but I'm not going to beat myself up if I don't, as it would be ahead of the schedule I committed myself mentall to.

For me the difference seems to be not succumbing to too many nuts, reducing my albeit low carb snacking and cutting way back on the alcohol. Even though I've started drinking it again, I'm following the same principle that I did when I was pregnant with ds: abstained in Trimester 1 and then reduced the quantity and upped the quality. So last week I had 4 small glasses of good wine which I savoured - and then said No to top ups (Ok, last night I had one top up Wink - but then I didn't let dh finish the bottle Grin)

Carbydeadun - is it worth trying an Ubercamp for 3 days: no dairy, measuring portions, no snacks. Details are on the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness. It does, iirc, include fish (tuna) but I'm sure you could adapt it (I don't eat mushrooms or peppers so I had to adapt it the time I did it).

The other option might be to try an egg fast.

ShastaBeast · 30/10/2017 12:19

Total fail this week, two nights out and I rarely go out so had a few naughty treats too many. I gained 5lb, yes 5lb, in two days! There's no way this is fat as I should still be running a calorie deficit rather than the 3500 time five calories needed. It must be the water from the glycogen stores. I'm back down to a 3lb gain which is where I started boot camp. I had a really upset tummy yesterday too, not sure if it's linked so I didn't eat much and had some dates, I've also taken more pain killers this week which I'm convinced reduce my metabolism. On the upside the increased carbs stopped the spotting. No gym trip last week due to half term but back to it Saturday and this morning and back to boot camp proper. I'm out to a restaurant on Thursday and will try to eat low carb and avoid alcohol but it's a Michelin starrred chef so no promises.

The carb fest has made me think about the long term. Clearly avoiding sugar and processed carbs is good generally but when the time comes I'd like to redintroduce carbs in a healthy way and need to plan how to do this, perhaps looking at a more paleo type diet with fruit and bean/pulses. I'm less than a stone away from target so not too far in the future.

I've had coffee and cream from Starbucks and nothing else so will be raising the fridge for fatty foods and fresh veggies for lunch. Probably roast chicken and veg for dinner with leftovers for lunch. Yum.

ShastaBeast · 30/10/2017 12:25

Lthewife/Gammeldragz - didn't see your posts before writing mine. I'm complete convinced it contributes. I'm on codeine 30mg x 2 as needed plus another stronger opiate if desperate, I've taken that a couple of times this past week and more codeine than the previous two weeks when I lost. It might be half term that set it off so I'm back to work and gym this week so hope to shed the gain and cut back on the codeine. But I did have desert and cocktails so it's not all down to that. Blush

Veryflummoxed · 30/10/2017 12:32

sing boil up double cream and keep simmering for a couple of minutes or so till it thickens. Add cheese and any seasoning/ mustard.* That’s it.*

blackteaplease · 30/10/2017 12:36

Placemaking for later. 1.5lb loss again for me, I seem to hit a midweek low then bounce up again but the general trend is downwards.

WhoKn0wsWhereTheSlimeGoes · 30/10/2017 12:39

Marking spot as I'm at work (lunchtime) and haven't got much time. 0.5lb back on this week, 2lb off in total so far. Off shopping later for almond milk and to investigate chai latte.

Hippadippadation · 30/10/2017 12:41

Stunt why do you let your DH sabotage you? You've posted about it before.

DrDiva · 30/10/2017 12:44

Oh! Interesting about the painkillers. I have been mainlining them this week thanks to the worst sinusitis I have had in years. What about antibiotics? Finished the two courses of really high dosage, maybe they stalled things a bit. (And didn't work. So I also get to feel guilty about adding to the antibiotic apocalypse for no reason, as well as looking forward to surgery as the next step. Ah well.)

This boot camp feels different, I don't know why. I am determined to be here in week 10, for the first time ever, though!

FurryTurnip · 30/10/2017 12:48

shashta am interested in what your plans are as I am in a similar situation. Only have about 8 lbs to lose now, and am thinking how to deal with all this long term. I am a veggie and want to reintroduce pulses as well. I am confident I can avoid the processed carbs but couldn't (and wouldn't want to) live without pulses.

Just need to think about how to eventually reintroduce without it all going to pot!

Anyway, today's food:

B: Greek yogurt, double cream, blueberries
L: Greek salad and boiled egg
D: wanting to cut down the cheese a bit this week so will do a egg fried cauli rice with lots of veg

singadream · 30/10/2017 12:55

That one sounds excellent @Veryflummoxed thank you x

Jerm123 · 30/10/2017 13:09

Well done everyone who has lost weight and koko those who didn’t.

Unfortunately I’m in the latter half. I lost 0.4 lbs this week to 201.4 lbs and am feeling a bit sorry for myself. I will give myself next week to improve, but if it doesn’t increase to nearer the 2 lbs level, I’m going to have to start seriously controlling portions.

RaininSummer · 30/10/2017 13:10

Stayed the same but not a surprise. I stick to the rules well but do have largish portions I think. Weight is going albeit slowly which is magnificent result for me. This is not a diet to me it is my forever way of eating as it has stopped my blood sugar issues and I am never ravenously hungry now.

cafeaulaitpourvous · 30/10/2017 13:12

Today’s food

Lunch - leftover lamb, gravy, Swede, leeks and cauliflower
Pudding - strawberries and cream
Tea - beef stir fry

NutButterNutter · 30/10/2017 13:31

Also slowed down a lot this week. Only half a pound. Was going to stay on BC but went light and I think that’s the issue. May try to BC again completely and see if that boosts things but need to go shopping tonight and get more eggs/fish/chicken!

Almahart · 30/10/2017 13:33

Made some real rookie errors yesterday and totally fell off the bandwagon. Am annoyed as I did the whole of my other bootcamp (2014!) without cheating.

I let myself get too hungry and had a couple of glasses of wine. Ended up snaffling a couple of pieces of the kids pizzas

I understand why that happened though so will hopefully not let it happen again

SoMuchToBits · 30/10/2017 13:34

My food for today:-

Lunch - fryup (bacon, eggs, mushrooms, spinach, a small tomato, all cooked in butter and bacon fat).
Dinner - sea bass with mushrooms and garlic in butter and herbs, with leeks and broccoli sautéed in butter.
Plus some cups of tea with ff milk and lots of water.

DearPrudence · 30/10/2017 13:38

Hi everyone and thanks for the new thread.

It was my first week and I’ve lost 6 lbs, so I’m thrilled with that.
